I found out Sims 4 is free and installed it.
I then realized sims is boring after making 4 characters and one self-insert. And not really being happy with them because theres no real way to make an "ugly" oc or one that is remotely visually interesting or have a woman with facial hair. I really like characters with unusual appearances, like a crooked nose or lopsided mouth and scars (the strechmark option was a pleasant surprise but thats about it) so having everyone be supermodel-pretty wasn't really my thing. They sorta ended up looking exactly the same as each other with different hair and clothes.
I miss having my sims kingdom for the wii when there was actually stuff to do. I guess I was thinking it would be like that where I'd have missions to build things or something but it isn't it's just a digital dollhouse and domestic life is too boring for that to manage to be engaging to me in any way.

My favorite version of Sims was the My Sims for my Nintendo DS as a kid. The music was some of my favorite. I liked the graphics a lot /shrug
I still dislike Elizabeth (a character) for that outfit quest I never passed.

I'm trying to find anything to fill my brain with to fixate on next because without special interest my life has no purpose. xD
Sims was just a swing and a miss.
Maybe I can find my sims kingdom again for cheap. Or emulate it but idk how wii emulation would work. If it works.

I had TS4 for a few years and only played it… 2 or 3 times?
Every once in awhile I’d spend like a week obsessively adding mods, creating characters, and building houses, and then when I actually started playing the game I’d lose interest and completely forget about it for another year. I want to enjoy it but each time I’ve tried to play it is just. so. boring.
I finally uninstalled it yesterday to free up more space on my drive =P

Favourite Sims version is definitely Sims Medieval. I don't have TS3 though so that might change when I eventually get it (I'm somewhat expecting it to go free with all the packs when TS5 comes out, like what happened with TS2). I used to have TS2, but then the disk got damaged when I got a new PC, so my copy of TS2 is no more. I play TS4 by far the most (the EA app is being stupid rn so I can't check the exact number of hours), I currently have 3 legacies going on, and I'm considering starting a new one. I usually play with the music muted, so I can't really comment on the music, but ig I must have found it annoying enough to mute it at some point. I also have My Sims, which I don't play that often, so I almost always start a new playthrough every time. I remember being terrified of Chef Gino, for some reason. Honourable mention for Spore, I love it more than I can explain, despite its bugs lol. Leapkit you should try it if you haven't already! There's a 90% off sale for it on Steam that ends May 29th, not sure if you can even purchase it anymore on the EA app but even if you can EA is stingy as hell so it'll almost definitely be more expensive.
( Tip: Save pretty frequently, especially in the tribal and civilisation stages, since those tend to be the most buggy stages. You may have to destroy your planet if the bug is a big one that makes your save file unplayable, just make sure you have the species saved so you can continue on a new planet. Here's a page of most of the known glitches and their fixes) |

I bought spore back in 2008, So yes... I know of it. I also have the creature thing for the DS, though I played it only once. I think the cartridge is floating around my room somewhere.
After going around and poking various interests/games my brain seems to have settled on fallout 3. My life once again has purpose. xD

a few weeks ago i done goofed on a social interaction and didn't realize it until much later, after someone explained it to me. in hindsight, i think it's pretty hilarious, so i thought i'd share :>
i was at this social gathering and a guy that i only vaguely recognized as the dad of one of my old classmates comes up to me and says "hey, it's been awhile!" so i smile and nod at him. he tries again: "i haven't seen you in a long time!" i nod again and say "yep." and walk away. he stands there and stares at me for a few seconds, and then he asks me the usual "how are you, what have you been up to lately, etc." questions and the conversation proceeds as normal.
i was later told that "it's been awhile" was meant to be a conversation opener and he expected me to respond to that, but i thought he was just making a statement, so i straightup said "yep" to his face and walked away while he stared after me in confusion. oops. xD

i’d probably fail an autism diagnosis test now because i’ve become pretty good at masking and im naturally extroverted and enjoy socializing. because despite ticking off literally every other box on the list, everyone knows you can’t really be on the spectrum if you aren’t shy, awkward, and hate being around people! /sarcasm I am too but even with the social-ness I still scored literally 1 point lower than the highest point threshhold. (rads r test if you were wondering) I honestly don't think I mask or if I do it's barely mostly on account of, I already do not give a flying frick about what other people see me as. Though some questions about eye contact/reading facial expressions tripped me up because I don't do those things because I want to do them, I do them because I was literally abused and had to be on eggshells around the people who were abusing me so learning to read any minute change in facial expressions and tell what emotions they were feeling was necessary for me to avoid further abuse so I got good at it. And i wonder if maybe that didn't happen and I wasn't in danger if I would actually be bad at it... but idk. |

Today I did Small Talk and for some reason any time someone wants to Small Talk with me in this town it at once goes to some conservative talking point and I have literally no script to mentally run through for explaining to idiots why 'no one wants to work these days' or some junk. :') So both times this happened today I just said [awkward statement] and scurried off to do some other aspect of my job.
Edit: Example: "I don't know any young people. :'D Ha ha ha ha."

YEP. And I only work with young people in this job. In fact, only young people are working most minimum wage jobs here. Please, dear sir, what in the world does this mean? What do I do with this trashcan take?
Also it's the same talking point the owner uses ... despite the fact he KNOWS who works for him.

hey gang it's me still recovering from a frighteningly intense meltdown i had a week ago what's up
sorry to hear that, Gekko. holding your face to force eye contact??? what??? that sounds so uncomfortable.
if it helps, a trick i've learned to avoid eye contact while still appearing to give eye contact is to look at the center of someone's forehead, or the spot between their eyebrows. maybe you could try it next time you find yourself in such a situation?
