So my mom and I were talking about how back in the day autism was misdiagnosed a lot because it wasn't know well. Anyways she started to say how she doesn't believe that someone can have autism and add/adhd at the same time. She says that I should take anyone's diagnosis as a grain of salt these days because "they may not have had a $3000 complicated assessment like you have" and that "doctors are just overdiagnosing these days". While I agree that there are some people out there that misdiagnose/jump to conclusions too quickly, that doesn't mean I should take someone else's diagnosis at face value.
She then went on to say that she did a lot of research to make sure I was diagnosed with the right thing so she knows a lot and that if I did research then I would be more skeptical too, and that it's mainly just overlap. She also said that if I went to get reassessed right now they'd diagnose me with 4 disorders that I don't have, and that she would be skeptical about any new information.
That being said, my psychological results from when I was 7 say that reevaluation may be necessary since I was so young, and if I start to struggle with ADHD characteristics to get reassessed. THE EVALUATION SHE PRAISES SO MUCH SAYS THAT I MAY HAVE ADHD BUT HAVEN'T STARTED SHOWING SYMPTOMS YET SINCE I WAS A LITTLE KID THEN.

I'm S'more
I'm autistic (I was "tentatively" diagnosed at 15 and then "officially" diagnosed earlier this year, (I'm 22 now) so I'm kinda still learning a lot about myself)
My special interest has almost always been connected to storytelling, which sparked a bunch of things (like writing and drawing to get my stories and characters out there) and earlier this year I was able to publish my first book
Other hyper fixations of mine have been Warriors, Star Wars, Penguins of Madagascar, Space, and Animals

My sympathies go to you, Brambleheart. While my own parents aren't as bad in this aspect (although infinitely worse in others), I understand the frustrations, the hurt, and the exhaustion that comes from living with parents with... let's call them very questionable morals. I hope that in the future your living situation improves.

See, you ask me that and my mind blanks and suddenly forgets everything I've ever learned about everything But I can tell you that if earth had rings like Saturn, half the planet would spend like, half the year in it's shadow and the only light they'd see wold come from the really bright light reflected off of the rocks in the rings so that's something I guess, lol |

The thing about my mother is that she is usually extremely open and well educated, it's just that one singular thing she will die on the hill about. She is a good mother who will do anything to understand and support her children and their needs.
I think that this background information makes this outlier of her behaviour more surprising to me. But that's what it is. An outlier. Everything else she does for/with me in regards to my autism is simply amazing.

Yeah, in my case my mother is the same regarding my autism. The outlier being she thinks it's caused by vaccines, sooooo that's really the big weird thing from my mom. Props to your mom for being supportive otherwise! It's just a pity that's the hill she'll die on. Hopefully that will be better at a later point.  |

Hey. Does anyone have any tips or literally anything that helps for this- I would like to do my chores and hobbies except its like there's a brick wall in front of me and I end up not. Right now I have so much to do and I know, focus on one thing at a time but even that is hard and I don't know where to start. I get this because I have the same problem So what I do is I tell myself to do one small thing per day The bathroom and my room need to be cleaned and I need to do laundry So I tell myself “well, wash your clothes today, put them away tomorrow, then you can take out the trash the day after” etc Eventually things do get done It’s just a little bit at a time, a tiny step is still a step either that or I wait until I get randomly compelled at 4am to deep clean everything |

anyway it looks like DA:A has 6 episodes at 30 minutes each which is actually doable for my limited attention span yay

sometimes people living in the same household want privacy or dont like the same things.
if that want to eliminate account sharing, limit the usage to, like, 3-4 profiles. That's a fine, average number of people i think, or people that could be easily grouped.
