(Note: The black outlines along the old WispClan and ScorchClan territories display the lengths in which the fire reached. It did not continue North of WispClan territory due to the lack of grass and the large gap in between the trees, and it was halted just North of ScorchClan land by Twolegs in big red monsters that breathed out water, and it did not continue outside Clan borders to the West because of the river.

Day ??? / "1" (3-5 Post-fire)

It has been some days since the blazing inferno ravaged across the land when a lightning bolt struck the Spirit Tree during a heavy storm. WispClan survivors congregate along the beach, stricken by grief and unparalleled fear and hopelessness. As one unit they proceed North, but agree to check out the camp in case any cat had made it out. They find no survivors, and with the sun already setting, they are forced to shelter in the cliffside, in the corpse of their old home.

Day 2

In the morning they press onwards and eventually encounter ScorchClan survivors, possibly in their own territory, or a little further North. (Up to you Dɾҽαɱƈʅσυԃ )

(^^^What happens with ScorchClan up until this point is also up to you to brainstorm.)

A fight almost breaks out, but is prevented at the last possible moment/A skirmish breaks out, but it is brief. A debate ensues on what direction to pick, with WispClan voting to continue North while the few remaining ScorchClan cats wish to travel to the West. The former wins in favor, with the ScorchClan cats possibly only agreeing (at least temporarily) because of the other river cutting them off from the seemingly untouched forest beyond. The group heads along the narrow strip of land with the ocean at their side, eventually breaking out to a small sliver of a clearing with a large pond, the source of the river, on one side. *They follow the shoreline to a very peculiar rundown wooden structure.

(*ScorchClan's territory had something like it - the abandoned canoe lodge to the Southern beach - while most of WispClan has never seen anything like it. None of them from either Clan know of their origins.)

Day 3

The survivors sleep at the old structure (an abandoned fishing hut) for the night before trekking further North. They quickly bump into a marshland, and due to the rising levels of water and mud that sucks at their paws, it eventually becomes impassible. They are pushed Westward but with no success in getting further past the bog. A line of mountains, far larger than anything WispClan cats had ever dreamed of, blocks their path, turning them South into a rapidly approaching field. At the base of one of the short rocky mountains lies something very mysterious, and ominous. (<--- An abandoned Twoleg mine.)

Some of the cats investigate the crudely carved passages, going only so far until the light fades away completely. There they set up camp and finally take the time to hunt and to pay attention to each other's wounds. (Dɾҽαɱƈʅσυԃ Should a mender/medicine cat be with them or no? If not, a cat would eventually be taught the ways of healing through some spiritual encounters with their ancestors.)

Day 6

A few days have passed since the cats made temporary camp at the spooky abandoned mine, but they know they must press on and find a new home. Their journey reconnects them with the mysterious gravel path that they had previously encountered at the old fishing hut. They follow it until they come across a couple more old-looking wooden structures. This will mark their first encounter with rogues/loners, who are hostile, dogs, and Twolegs (though possibly just the one). The group is forced Southwest, hugging the side of what they think is another Sundrown Place, until they come across a peculiar looking bridge. They reluctantly cross it and not too far away they happen across a beach. The WispClan survivors are ecstatic at first until they see more of them. Hundreds of them. Tall, two-legged naked skinned creatures wearing brightly colored pelts, some showing more skin than others, most of them in the water.

(Dɾҽαɱƈʅσυԃ Perhaps a negative encounter with them could encounter here, such as them being chased by Twoleg kits, or possibly even a rescue after a cat is captured?)

Unable to hug the "other Sundrown Place" any longer, they make their way South, hoping to not see the scorched lands of their old home ever again. Evening sets in, and after loosely following another gravel path for ages (but sticking as far enough away from it as they can), they encounter three more wooden structures, one of them smaller and a rustic brown, the other far larger and painted red, and the other larger still and its wooden skeleton is birch white. Scared of approaching them but left with no other option, the WispClan and ScorchClan survivors make their way into the small brown den and sleep the night away.

Day 7

Dawn hits. Patrols are set out to hunt for prey while the weakest stay inside the shelter of the wooden den to get some much-needed rest. Towards the mid-afternoon, another encounter happens. Several cats are living in the red wooden structure! Our survivors choose to keep their heads low, but with some of the cats injuries getting worse, their chances of continuing their expedition grows desperate.

Day 8-9

Through undetermined means, communication is established between the barn cats and the survivors of both Clans. The barn cats offer them shelter and treatment from the Twolegs, but the survivors of the fire refuse medical attention from them, and they don't want to get too close to where the tall no-furred creatures live either.

Day 10

One of the cats desperately needs medical help. One of the loners lures a Twoleg over to the wooden shelter, who scoops up the feral cat. (The rest could be on patrol, perhaps.) Enraged that they brought the creature to kidnap them, both sides almost break out into a fight, but again crisis is everted. The two groups split and contact ceases between the survivors and the barn cats.

Day 11

Some of the survivors could plan to break their friend out. They either attempt this, or the barn cats encourage them to wait, and offer them a spot to spy on and keep an eye on their captured friend, who is beyond their reach through some mostly invisible barrier.

Day 12-46

The survivor who was "captured" by Twolegs is finally released, or perhaps their friends break them out. They are almost fully healed and while they claim to have hated the experience, they are grateful to be alive, and emphasizes one Twoleg who treated them very well, even more so than the others. It is time for the Clan cats to leave; they have always known that they don't belong here, and despite the success story of their friend, they don't wish to be trapped by Twolegs like they were. The barn cats escort them West to the edge of their territory. A large Twolegplace awaits them, and the loners offer to show the Clan cats the way across. They agree, but under the condition of nightfall.

Night of Day 46

The perilous slink across the Twolegplace begins, and it ends with success. The survivors say goodbye to the barn cats and rest up until morning just slightly further beyond.

Day 47

The Clan cats venture Northwards and encounter many dangers. Rogues for certain, perhaps a badger or a fox as well. They are eventually escorted by a patrol of rogues outside of this stretch of land and past a wide stream to the North. This is also where they discover the "other Sundrown Place" is really a massive body of fresh water, much to their astonishment. The Clan cats hug their way around the edge of a Thunderpath, eventually deciding to cross it. They come across a large field with a Twoleg structure at its center. They make camp and attempt to sleep but are constantly disturbed by the Twolegs and Monsters that surround them in all directions.

Day 48

The Clan cats head back across the Thunderpath and go due West. They quickly bump into a smaller lake and various patrols are sent to investigate the area.

Over the course of a couple of days they will discover the future camps of both WispClan and ScorchClan. The peninsula will be hotly contested, but in the end it could serve as a neutral zone where they hold Gatherings once per moon. Their numbers are few at first, but with possible kits along the way, and with various loners, rogues, and kittypets that very slowly join their ranks, both Clans eventually grow back to a respectable size. Their territories have long since been decided upon, and although the large Twolegplace to the Northeast is universally agreed upon as a no-go zone, the land to the South is promising, to whichever Clan can seize it. However, the local rogues down there are none too pleased about the arrival of their new neighbors...

As for future storytelling, we could involve the rogues to the South, the Twolegs and kittypets to the Northeast, a journey to the city to the Northwest, a possible reunion at the bottom of the greater lake with the loners who reside there, the snowy mountains to the Northeast, the desert to the West, the moors and the lands beyond to the Southwest, and the lands to the very Northeast above the marshland.

WISPCLAN POSITIONS

THE ELDER CIRCLE𑁋Once a senior guardian retires from service, they take their place as a member of the Elder Circle, a council of cats who hold the foundations of WispClan together. They periodically communicate with the Risen, either seeking advice or delivering reports from and to them. In regards to their level of influence, they are in a sense the Clan's leaders, although they choose to stay out of most internal affairs and instead act behind the scenes. Their dens are located in a large cave-den, high above the camp. They never directly participate in Clan duties such as hunting or border patrols, and in fact they almost never leave the camp itself, with exceptions including every new and full moon to travel to the White Tree to perform some of the Clan's sacred rituals

MENDER𑁋WispClan's healer and spiritual guide. They have the most profound connection to the “broader”, or “lesser”, spiritual plain, even more so than those within the Elder Circle; however, the Elder Circle have greater personal ties to the Risen. Menders are also in charge of organizing religious ceremonies alongside the Elder Circle. They are fully committed to having an unbiased love for their Clan, and while they are not explicitly forbidden from taking a mate and having kits, Menders are generally too consumed in their affairs to consider pursing that path

MENDER NOVICE𑁋An adolescent cat in training to become the next Mender. They are taught hunting and fighting skills from their mentor like the rest of their Clanmates, but their primary focus lies in learning medicinal and communitive skills, or learning to listen to the world around them, in both the corporeal and spiritual plains

SEER𑁋"The prophet of time", the Seer's duty is to observe all of the possibilities throughout time and to interpret what they foresee through prophecy. They heavily restrain themselves from directly advising their superiors on specific occurrences throughout history and how to navigate through them so as to not disrupt the “natural order” and to give them an unnatural advantage; the flowing rivers are revealed instead of the expanse of water at the end, so to speak. These visions are not necessarily always in correlation with the Risen however, and it can be difficult to determine whether the events they foresee have occurred in the past, are currently transpiring, or will happen in the future. The Seer rarely speaks, and as such their voice is held with incredibly high regard. All of what they know falls exclusively on the ears of the cats within the Elder Circle. They spend most of their life alone in the Stonefang Caverns, deep beneath the camp itself, living off of fish and rarely seeing the light of the sun, and even growing intolerant towards it, instead adapting to a life in nearly complete darkness, their eyes developing to be as round as full moons and their movements as inconspicuous as the shadows along the cave walls. It is said that the Seer is in fact the same cat reincarnated over and over again, generation after generation

MEDIATOR𑁋It is imperative that the Mediator never gets directly involved in Clan rivalries and disputes. They may hunt for their Clan and participate in religious ceremonies held within their own territory, but they are strictly forbidden from joining border patrols, or from participating in any situation that could or is guaranteed to end in combat; but like all cats, they are of course entitled to the right of self-defense if the situation were to require it. Their purpose is to provide a voice of reason in the most dire of circumstances, and must do so with as little personal bias towards them from cats from other Clan cats as possible

GUARDIANS𑁋Cats who have pledged to fight and protect their Clan, even at the cost of their life. All guardians are taught battle moves equally, but when it comes to hunting, individual guardians typically specialize in one environment - either on land, or in the sea. Cats who train to catch land-prey and birds are called "Runners", or "Forest Hunters". Those who choose to take to the ocean to fish are called "Swimmers", or "Fish Catchers". An apprentice can pursue both methods of hunting, but these are remarkably rare situations, and they are often self-taught in the field they were not officially assigned under; those who master both environments are very well-respected within the Clan, and are referred to as "Twin Hunters". The most senior of guardians organize the border and hunting patrols, and are shown more respect than their younger peers

NOVICES𑁋Adolescent cats older than 6 moons who are training to become guardians. Each apprentice is assigned to train either as a Runner or as a Swimmer, and while they have the option very early on to switch sides (and likely mentors as well), these are rare circumstances and such requests are only granted under special conditions. Their voices have the least amount of weight within the Clan and are stuck with tasks that most cats don't want to do, such as cleaning our bedding, picking ticks from the pelts of elders, rebuild and reinforce dens, and they are also the last ones to eat in the Clan. Apprentices are typically bestowed with their true guardian names at the age of 12 moons following their mandatory assessments

QUEENS𑁋She-cats who are expecting or nursing kits/novices. The rank of permanent queen is a very respected position in WispClan

KITS𑁋The youngest members of the Clan, under the age of 6 moons. They are forbidden from leaving the camp and when they are not getting into mischief, they spend their days in the nursery, playing in the camp, or listening to stories from senior guardians

WISPCLAN BELIEF SYSTEM & CULTURE

In the WispClan belief system, every living thing has a soul, from the trees, to the grass, to creatures both great and small. Some even believe that the world itself is alive, as well as the Moon and Sun, which they call the "Ice Eye" and "Fire Eye" respectively. In their eyes, nothing that exists is insignificant and everything has its own part to play, and therefore must be treated with respect. This includes the water in the streams, rivers, and the sun-drown place, the moss the grows on trees, the animals that inhabit the woods, and the land they walk on; while they have made some alterations around the camp, it was for a purpose, and they believe that if there is no good reason to commit an action, then they should leave the world in the exact state as they had found it. (Frequently used trails made by generations of pawsteps are one of the few minor exceptions to this.)

The teachings of sustainability and respect naturally carry over into hunting practices as well. Whenever a hunter finishes off their kill, they are to proceed to perform a ritual in which they sit with their catch for a small amount of time, uttering words of thanks and allowing their soul to pass into the afterlife, and only then can it be eaten or brought back to the camp. When cats encounter a dead animal out in the forest, they perform a similar ritual, and if they cannot bury the creature, they will spread its body with wild plants, typically flowers and leaves. If the creature's death was caused by their own claws and teeth, the cat(s) who had dealt the killing blow must stay with the body for the night until the sun rises the following morning, sitting vigil.

Beyond just respect for the dead, WispClan have, at least according to them, a good, if not superstitious, reason to engage in these practices. If the cycle were to be broken, they believe that they, the wardens of the part of the world in which they are set to govern, will be punished; in other words, if they fail to treat the world well, they fear it would punish them through a bad omen or through some great tragedy. To give a specific example, if the body of a large deceased animal, especially a predator, were to be treated with bad will, then its spirit may come back to haunt the cat(s) that had done it wrong. If this circumstance were to occur, then that cat would be banished from WispClan territory temporarily to face their tribulations alone, while also as an act to protect the Clan at large from the wrath of the spirit. Only when the mind of the wrong-doer is clear and the Mender has received a positive sign can they return to their home.

According to WispClan, there are two spiritual plains of existence. The first, or "lesser" realm is inhabited by recently slowly decaying spirits of all manners of creatures. All WispClan cats have the inherent ability to detect these ghosts, but usually to a very limited extent, such as through the rustling of trees and bushes, and the occasional indiscernible whispers in the wind. Only Menders and the Elder Circle can interpret signs and dreams, see visions, and even crudely communicate with them in greater detail.

The second, or "greater" realm is housed by spirits whose purpose is to watch over the land, and while they cannot directly interfere with the corporeal world, they have been known to enter the dreams of cats, or wander through the woods and lead cats along the paths they need to take when doubt or lack of clarity overpowers them. It would perhaps be logical to assume that only cats exist in this plain, but there are stories of the souls of other creatures guiding the living in past times.

In order for the spirit of an animal to enter the second realm, they must undergo a spiritual journey of sorts, and many of them do not make it and eventually fade away with time. What this "journey" consists of and what trials they have to face is unknown. Any spirit can reach the next higher plain of existence, even formerly evil cats, who WispClan believes have had their "unclean thoughts" stripped away from them after their passing and their soul's subsequent migration out of their host body.

It is unknown if WispClan believes in reincarnation or not, or at least in any official way. The matter seems to differ between the perspectives and interpretations of individual cats. An unusual exception to this seems to be their Seer, however; it is possible they believe such an honor can only be gifted to the most important and special of cats.

While the foundation of WispClan and the duties of its cats are built on tradition, two important rituals stand out above all others, and they are both connected to the Moon, or the "Ice Eye"; they believe the great silver orb's purpose is to watch over the world and to help ease spirits, and perhaps to aid them in trying to find their way in to becoming one of the Risen, and therefore it's unsurprising that they revere it.

Every full moon the Clan gathers by the Mother Tree, which they believe to have been the first tree ever born, at the Southern end of their territory. Numerous ceremonies are played out, mostly through the way of speech, thanking the world for everything that they had been provided with while pledging to continue to oversee it as its guardians. The Elder Circle also recites their moonly tales about how the world and WispClan had supposedly come to be many generations ago.

While the full moon is a time of celebration, the new moon demands much more aggressive action. Driven from fear that the spirits will be distraught without their bodily guide, the Elder Circle and their Mender once again travel to the Mother Tree to calm the spirits around them through ceremony. (If they are old enough, the Mender apprentice might accompany them as well.) Small offerings of prey and some medicinal herbs are presented on a large stone in an attempt to appease the world and to remind it that they had not forgotten their path and purpose.

It is not known how the Clan would react to red moons and eclipses, but presumably with immediate fear, confusion and despair. Neither event seems to have occurred within recent generations however, and perhaps all knowledge of their occurrences has since been washed away through the passage of time.

WispClan is generally a very peaceful group, rarely engaging in skirmishes, and very few of them spill blood. They excel in hunting, but not so much in the fighting department.

Tanglebranch is a brown tom-cat with delicate darker brown stripes plastered across his fur, weaving around each other like tree roots caught in a stranglehold beneath the earth, and almost giving him the appearance of a tiger; some faded stripes wrap around his underbelly, while the majority stretch across his back and shoulders. He has dark amber eyes that almost camouflage them into the rest of his coat of fur. Patches of white fur on his muzzle is mostly what betrays his age.

Tanglebranch's great stature gives him an intimidating presence, and his battle worn body tells many tales of skirmishes that he has fought and prevailed throughout his life, and these stories extend beyond the various deep scars along his flanks and muzzle - he is frequently described as being as tough and as unmovable as a rock.

To add to his physique, his shoulders are large and hardened, having lost little muscle even in his old age. All four of his powerful legs end in large paws tipped with eagle-like talons, excellent for hunting prey or defending his home, back when he was in his prime. To aid in combat and in hunting further, a long, bushy tail trails behind him, giving him excellent balance. Despite him carrying a severe injury that never healed, ending his Guardian duties altogether many seasons ago - a bite wound at the Achilles tendon on his back left leg inflicted from a ruthless encounter with a fox - only a fool would underestimate what power he has left within him, even if his movements are getting stiffer and his senses dulling as the moons pass by.

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

Pearlfoot is a tough she-cat - as old as stone, as thin as a birch sapling, but as sturdy as the mightiest oak. Their legs are long and nimble, their paws unusually large for a she-cat, their waist is quite narrow and their ribs are showing, and their long-haired tail drags behind them like a branch of a weeping willow. As well as their fitness, they keeps their pelt in pristine condition, although admittedly it isn't as soft as it used to be when they were in their youth. Their fur is a dull dusky brown and their toes are as blinding as the whitest snow, a stark contrast to the rest of their pelt. Their eyes are a very light gray-blue, and although their vision is rapidly failing, Pearlfoot insists they can navigate the world just fine, even without the aid of their vision. Juniperberry's appearance hints at her once being a very pretty she-cat, but even in her old age she doesn't look half bad, and it wouldn't be unusual for a cat to mistake her for being years younger than she really is. Despite the fact her years are growing thin, she is remarkably fit and healthy for an elder, and has showed little signs of slowing down in terms of strength, speed, and endurance; only her agility is perhaps degrading.

Her gray fur, covered with tiny white flecks, can almost completely camouflage her in the thick mist that often rolls through WispClan territory. Powerful shoulders and lean legs guide her paws forward, and a long tail balances her elegantly. White fur has long since developed on her muzzle, at times highlighting, other times better hiding the scores of scratch marks stretching from one side to the next, including over her nose. Silentsong is of a petite stature - she is barely bigger than a newly mentored novice - but instead of this hindering her, she has turned this into an advantage. They are quick on their paws, have plenty of agility to duck and weave around and underneath little opponents, and they can fit through tight gaps most cats would struggle to fit their head through.

Her brilliant white fur makes her stand out like a swan in the forest during the warm seasons, but when leaf-bare arrives, her pelt blends in perfectly with the snow around her, giving her the upper hand.

Silentsong has a fairly androgynous look to them, although some of their traits, such as their face with its pretty structure, slightly hints at her form being more feminine.

Being one of WispClan's smaller she-cats who also has unusually long legs compared to her body ratio, she is one of the fastest runners in the forest, aiding her in delivering messages with haste, and her exceptionally long tail ensures she never loses her balance while at top speed. Ravenclaw is an unusually large she-cat with pretty well developed shoulder muscles, and in general has a very hardened appearance. She has several nooks in her ears, a deep scar running from the left side of her chest down to the right side, and several claw marks run across her left shoulder; in none of these places has the fur grown back.

She has a sleek solid black coat, masking her perfectly well under the cover of darkness. Her claws are unusually long and are jet black, and her tail is long and winds behind her like a slivering snake. She has dark blue eyes.

HISTORY

- Ravenclaw was initially born as a rogue, abandoned by her mother, and was left to wander aimless and nameless. She was quickly scooped up by a ScorchClan patrol after she had wandered past the scent line and was trained as one of their own. She had retained no memory of where she truly came from and no cat in ScorchClan mentioned it around her presence or to her directly, so as far as she was convinced, she was an equal to them blood wise. Nevertheless it was obvious that ScorchClan never saw her in that same light, and she eventually began to question if the queen had raised her was ever her mother at all, if even the Clan she had fought so hard to protect and to serve was genuinely where she belonged. After working twice as hard for moons on end and gaining less than half the positive feedback and respect than her denmates, feeling like she was constantly being undermined by cats in charge, her patience began to wear thin. It was only when the truth behind her history as a former rogue kit spilled out, followed by even more extensive verbal abuse, did she eventually choose to leave ScorchClan for good. She did not wander alone for long however; after spying on WispClan for a couple of moons and finally deciding to take the plunge and engage in a passing patrol, not with claws but with words, she was given the opportunity to prove her worth. She never mentioned her outsider lineage to them however, out of shame while simultaneously believing it doesn't matter.

In her new Clan, Ravenclaw has since tried her hardest to loosen up a little, aided by the encouragement of her former mentor Juniperberry, but she still cannot shake the feeling she has more to prove than any cat, despite WispClan's general acceptance towards her. She exercises her temperamental and domineering disposition in keeping others in line, and refuses to budge from her technique despite a couple of complains about her often unceremonious language and tone of voice.

His long, almost lithe legs don't look like they belong at all on his bulky body frame, and some cats wonder if the powerful shoulder muscles he has are all that's keeping him from toppling over.

LANDMARKS

1 = The WispClan camp. Surrounded by an imposing ring of rock on almost all sides, this serves as an almost impassible defense against outside threats - any creature daring enough to scale up the perilous cliffs on the outside perimeter face an equally perilous drop on the inside of the bowl, and one slip on the loose rocks would almost certainly lead to them plummeting down to their death. The highest and chunkiest growth of rock by a mile serves as the backbone of the natural wall to the North. Eventually the wall of rock curves back around and gradually tapers off, with the ground eventually aligning with sea level. To protect the camp against this vulnerability, a great trench was dug by paw to the South, wrapping around in a half semi-circle, with the bottom lined deep with a menacing carpet of thorns, and the gap is much too wide for even a fox to bound across. The trench is actually split in two, with a small chunk of land having been spared to the very South, forming a kind of natural bridge. To further aid in defense, a massive wall of thorns many tail-lengths thick and tall engulfs it, with the only safe passage in and out existing in the form of a tunnel only wide enough for two cats to comfortably crouch through.

The ring of rock and the trenches serve a dual purpose. As well as serving as protection from predators, they also aid with the threat of flooding; it's unlikely a massive sudden rush of sea water would make it into the camp itself, and any excessive rainfall would flow down to the Southern edge of the camp, as that area is on a slight decline compared to the Northern part of the clearing.

The clearing is fairly large and serves as the main spot where cats gather to share tongues, eat prey, relax in the warming gaze of the Sun, and for novices and kits to play. A small collection of trees to the Eastern border provide plentiful shade during the hottest days of Greenleaf, and to the Southeast at the base of a solitary tree lies the Fresh-Prey Pile. A couple of small boulders are adjacent to it, and are frequently used for sunbathing. To the Northwestern side are a collection of boulders that novices use to practice climbing on, and beyond that are two shallow pools of fresh water. The Mender's den is present nearby, in a small cave carved right into the rock wall itself.

The guardians and apprentices typically sleep out in the open in huddled groups, only retreating to numerous nooks and crannies in the rock wall to the North during heavy snow or rainfall. A larger, more obvious cave serves as the nursery, and in the very center is the main tunnel that leads directly under the WispClan camp. A single guardian supervises this spot at all times, as it is forbidden to enter unless desperate circumstances drive the entire camp underground, such as a particularly harsh blizzard. The Elder Circle rests in a single impressive cave almost at the very top of the highest point, and their den is lined only with the softest moss, feathers, and grass. To the back of their den lies a narrow dark tunnel that slowly spirals its way into the Stonefang caverns deep below the camp itself.

2 = The Sandy Glade. A fairly spacious clearing with the ground unusually layered with a deep layer of sand. Novices are trained battle and stalking moves here.

3a = The Northern section of the beach. Novices training to become swimmers are mentored here.

3b = Further South to the "training section" of the beach, this stretch of shoreline experiences more turbulent waters. Only guardian swimmers are permitted to hunt here.

4 = The Spirit Tree. Located at the most Southern tip of the peninsula, this magnificent pasty white willow tree grows on the highest cliffside. The trunk is thicker than three cats lined up from nose to tail, and its tallest branches stretch so high that unless you view it from a great distance, it is impossible to see even halfway up. Magnificent plumes of leaves form a sort of mushroom shape around the trunk of the tree, delicate to the touch. Immense roots erupt from the ground, exposed by the constant weathering of the terrain, some leaving gaps wide and tall enough for full grown cats to walk and rest under. WispClan legends tell of this being the first tree to have sprouted from the ground and through its offering came all other trees, although none ever came to be as exceptional as their "mother". Since this is the first part of the land that is touched by the grace of the Moon every night, they also believe that the presence of spirits is at its strongest here, and as such bi-moonly rituals are conducted here.

5 = An unnamed whisker-thin stretch of land that has been battered by the wind and the waves for countless moons, leading to the ground being unstable, especially around the other edges. In recent times a narrow gap has split the two slivers of land in two, only growing wider by the year. The Elder Circle have long since forbidden cats from trespassing on this perilous landscape, and although this is mostly an effort to keep their Clanmates safe, a dark secret lies at the end of this strip of land, a secret that only the members of the Elder Circle are aware of: an abandoned wreck of unknown origin, made not out of flesh and bone but out of stripped wood and *shiny rock.

6 = The Rushing Roots, or the Ravaging River as it's sometimes called, or simply "the river". It is a thrashing, aggressive, powerful predator, a watery serpent carving its way through the land, separating the forest in two, and one that thankfully has only claimed the lives of a small pawful of cats within memory. At most points the churning waters stretch for almost a tree-length in width, and the merciless waters would prove to be a fatal ride for even the strongest WispClan swimmer, and even if they were to survive a short but still deadly cascading waterfall pours out into the ocean at the river's end.

This landmark serves as a neutral zone between WispClan and ScorchClan, for no cat would dare to cross it, or even fish in it. The trees are thick along the riverbanks, providing excellent cover, and only in select locations can a passing patrol see one of another Clan. A small triangular tip at the Northmost face of the Sandy Glade and a tree-poor section at the opposite side of the body of water, marking ScorchClan territory, has been the spot of many trash talking confrontations between passing patrols.

7 = The stepping stones bridging the wound in the land that the river has created. This location is mostly frequently patrolled by both Clans, especially in recent times when tensions between the Clans are at unparalleled levels, for a patrol or a solitary spy could easily slink their way into enemy land. During the height of Greenleaf the river basin widens and fills, leaving many of these rounded stones with only their tops exposed, provided they hadn't been swallowed entirely, making passage increasingly difficult.

8 = A fallen tree provides an at least temporary secret passage across the territories. But which Clan will locate and exploit it first, and for what purpose?

9 = The Bathing Pool. At the end of the stream lies a pristine, crystal clear body of water spanning several tree-lengths in width and is surprisingly shallow, with only the middle portion deep enough for the need for cats to swim. Guardian swimmers drenched in salt-smell from the ocean and novices dirtied by the sand and soil from having trained in the Sandy Glade make a trip here and wash off before venturing back to camp. The former group takes part in this habit so as to avoid offending the noses of their land hunting kin when they share dens at night.

10 = A shallow crossroads halfway up the stream, which butts off from the river like a thin root, providing easy access for novices to wade across.

HUNTING SPOTS

A = The main shoreline, providing bountiful amounts of fish during all four seasons, and when their population lessons during the colder seasons, cats will often result to scavenging for crabs that like to scurry and hide under rocks. Sea gulls frequently patrol the edges of the water, but since the cats who hunt here are better suited for more slippery prey (not to mention the general consensus in the Clan is that sea gull meat tastes awful), these are never hunted.

B = The greatest expanse of birch forest within WispClan territory, isolated by the coast to the East, two separate clearings to the North and South, and the stream to the West. The trees are also the most densely packed here, although they are still spread far enough apart that no ScorchClan cat would ever feel comfortable hunting here. For the guardian runners however, this is home, and their prey-catching skills thrive in this environment. Land prey is at its most plentiful here.

C = An almost as large but far less densely packed stretch of woodland North of the WispClan camp. Cats seldom travel here, resulting in a great and largely undisturbed haven for wildlife. Every couple of years however the serenity for the smaller creatures is broken by an influx of patrols from the South, a tradition created so as to not overhunt the latter part of the land. Cats must be cautious so as to not stray too close to the edges of the shoreline however. While the greater selection of open spaces helps the issue of preventing accidental falls, it also means there is less space for cats to hide up here. Land prey remains viable if a cat relies heavier on stealth, but birds become the primary target in these parts, even if they are more difficult to catch.

D = The Western section of the forest detailed above. The trees are slightly more clustered together here, providing more natural cover for cats to take advantage of. Border patrols make up the majority of Clan activity up here however, and as of recent developments, the Elder Circle have gone to the extra step of banning all hunting parties in that part of the Northern forest.

E = The "bald patches" of the Southern birch forest, these open meadows are littered with towering boulders, and much of the ground itself in some places is shaped by the flat stone. Prey is scarce here, and worse still, much of it hides in the cracks in the rock. Lizards can be commonly found here, although most are too small to make a meal out of. A few moons ago, a species of poisonous snake have made residence in between these nooks and crannies, their scaly skin as gray as the rock itself. Only a few pawful are known, and some can even be individually identified by the marks of thrashing claws they carry on their heads, backs, or tails, but it is only a matter of time before their population explodes. Few WispClan cats hunted here before, but now these areas are strictly prohibited unless at least three hunters (and at least one of them has to be a guardian) travel together, and they must always remain within eyesight of each other.

F = The land surrounding the Sandy Glade makes for poor hunting due to the frequent activity of the site, driving most of the prey animals to the forest to the East.

G = The clear stretch of ground to the South of forest line above offer no space to hide, for prey or for predator. Other than the birds lurking at the edges of the cliffs and the very rare but almost impossible to capture field mouse whose nests are scattered few and far between, there is no prey here.

FORBIDDEN ZONES

**Orange X's = The forbidden hunting locations. The first is the river and the second is anywhere within sight of the Spirit Tree.

**Blue X = The point where cats are forbidden from going any further, to the Northwest of the Spirit Tree. A large crack in the ground, at some points spawning almost a tail-length in width, mark this natural border.

**Unmarked location (my fault). To the very Northwest of the territory lies a thin land bridge. Large land creatures such as foxes and badgers very rarely make their way onto WispClan land, and all that do come from this point. The edge of WispClan territory lies at the edge of the tree line.

SCORCHCLAN BELIEF SYSTEM & CULTURE

Culture

ScorchClan believes in The Fallen as opposed to The Risen which WispClan believes in and communicates with. Although they do not have that strong of a connection with their ancestors. So The Fallen are as mysterious to them as ScorchClan is to WispClan. In general, things are, or rather appear to be handled more loosely in ScorchClan when it comes to religion and rules. But this is just an illusion. In reality, ScorchClan tends to follow one simple rule known as "survival of the fittest", "eat or be eaten", "kill or be killed". Even though the last two versions of that rule do not refer to cannibalism or killing other cats with certain exceptions. Perhaps WispClan does have a story or two implying they could be true after all. Who really knows?

Previously ScorchClan was actually way worse until The Fallen came down from the sky, falling upon their living Clanmates like shooting stars and told them to better themselves and only kill when their lives or those of their Clanmates were in danger instead of having no mercy on their enemies or even themselves at times. They are still secretive and look suspicious to WispClan though. And the continuous disappearances of WispClan cats and other outsiders venturing into ScorchClan territory never to return do not help in easing those suspicions and rising tensions.

Territory And Prey

ScorchClan territory is similar to that of canon ShadowClan both in the forest territories and those at the lake. It is overgrown with pine and cedar trees. They obscure the sky for the most part with their thick canopy. The ground is swampy but still rather cold than warm due to the lack of most natural light. ScorchClan's prey consists of frogs, lizards, snakes and the occasional lost birds like crows, ravens and magpies.

Additional Information

There is a saying in WispClan that the lack of light and warmth and also harsh winds rolling through ScorchClan's territory have made their hearts turn cold as well as the belief that the consumption of snakes has made them just as cunning as those slippery creatures. The first part was assumed about canon ShadowClan as well in the first arc.
