In many, many fanworks, Starclan cats are depicted as rather ghostly and almost see-through. While it is definitely true that this is said of Dark Forest cats, with it being mentioned in both OOTS and TBC that some Dark Forest cats are almost see through or even seem to fade in and out of existence, I don't actually remember any case where Starclan cats are described as such. Am I just missing a quote here or is this fandom convention just akin to the leaders having stars painted on their heads?

Well, we do have this image to go off of Other than this, I really don't remember. They're always described as having the stars in their fur, and at some point the series showed a character that was faded from being forgotten, so maybe that?

There's a scene in Po3 where Jaypaw notices his own body becoming see-through, and a scene in OotS where Firestar's spirit in StarClan is see-through because only half of his lives are there, so there is precedent for it. For the most part though, the StarClan cats themselves aren't typically described as transparent.

IIRC, the spirits entering StarClan are as opaque as the rest of the cats. However, as memories of those cats fade, their spirits eventually become more transparent until eventually they've faded completely.
Someone's free to correct me on this.
