Foggystar winced as Sootpaw swept his tongue along one of his wounds, letting out a short hiss afterward. "They were being completely unreasonable!" He spat, glancing over at Bogpaw. "At least Bogpaw was there to fight off one of those crowfood-eaters."
Sootpaw nodded slowly, looking a little concerned at how upset the leader was. "I'm sure they were just having a bad day, that's all." He then moved over to Bogpaw and sat down. "Which one hurts the most?" He asked, referring to the many wounds on the apprentice.
((Sorry these were so short, I'm having a hard time focusing))

((Pretty okay, it's been a little crazy though. How are things with you?))
Sootpaw drew back when Bogpaw moved away, only looking up when he heard the cough. "Stick your leg out." He murmured, trying to keep his expression from betraying his concern.
Foggystar got up and padded over, snorting a little at how the cold air stung the scratches on his sides. "Are you okay to walk back through the snow?" He asked, the question directed at his apprentice.

((That's good!))
Foggystar nodded, his tail twitching. "I'll go on ahead, you can take your time." He looked between the two apprentices and headed quickly through the heavy snow, going toward camp. - "No, nothing." Sootpaw responded after watching Foggystar walk away. "The bite on your leg is deep, you may need to stay off of it for the next few days and I should keep a sharp eye on it in case of infection." He dipped his head and sniffed it, trying to see if it was dirty. "Going back to camp is going to be a hassle.."

"Not until your leg has no risk of opening up again." Sootpaw sighed, moving over to Bogpaw and pressing against him. "Lean your weight on me, it'll be easier to walk through the snow." He glanced at the other tom, hoping he wouldn't be too proud to take help.

"At least a week, now come on before I have to drag you along and before you complain, let me remind you that as a medicine cat apprentice, I know best." He took a few slow steps forward and stopped, making sure Bogpaw could keep up with the pace. - Back at the ShadowClan camp, Sandpaw was brewing angrily and licking his wounds fiercely. "Stupid fish-eater.." He muttered, lashing his tail as he watched Crowfeet report to the leader, obviously playing victim in the encounter.

Hesitating, Sootpaw let out a small noise and looked back toward the warmer spots of the not-so-snow-filled woods. "Maybe we should just stay in the woods for a little while... Until a patrol comes by?" He tipped his head, only wanting what was best for Bogpaw. "With your leg and the pace we'd need to walk, we could freeze to death walking back.."
---
"Oh, shut up, Larkpaw." Sandpaw sneered, not in the best mood for Larkpaw's sarcasm. "Go eat some leaves or something." He dipped his head and yanked a thorn out of his tail, hissing between clenched teeth when he felt blood trickle from the small hole.

"N-no, I c-can go f-faster," He insisted, limping forward some more, shivering as he left the warm pelt of Sootpaw, before slipping on the icy slush. Maybe he had a point in waiting, it couldn't do them any harm, could it? He shivered again, a cold gust of wind piercing through his coat that was now soaked by the snow, it already melting from the heat his fur gave off. He let out a small irritated huff, more angry at himself for not being able to take care of himself than anything. He felt his throat tickle, but he let out a strange noise in an attempt to get rid of the tickle.
---- "Not with that attitude," Larkpaw snapped back, tired of his brothers attitude. "Y'know you better be nice to me, I'm the medicine cat apprentice, I could put death berries in your poultice if your not nice." She added with a scowl. The she cat was normally a well tempered individual, much like the majority of her clan, despite being constantly berated for being a half clan cat. She was a bit sarcastic, yes, but the only cat she had no patience for was her dung-for-brains brother.

"Come on." Sootpaw sighed and pushed Bogpaw toward the woods, feeling cold and tired along with the other apprentice. All the stress was getting to him and he was ready to sleep. "We can take a bit of a rest, a nap, I guess.." He murmured this more to himself than to Bogpaw.
--
"Oh, please do." Sandpaw rolled his eyes, his words sarcastic. He went to walk away but nearly fell over, a large scratch in his side making him stumble and stop completely. He exhaled deeply before looking back at Larkpaw, his gaze softening. "Sorry, I'm just... Some dumb RiverClan kit was teasing me today and it put me in a bad mood." He sat down, wrapping his tail around his paws.

"Are you okay?" Bogpaw asked, settling down on the frozen ground. He placed his leg away from his body, it sticking out awkwardly, letting out a soft hiss of pain as some snowflakes landed on it. This was horrible, he couldn't believe that some kit could do this much damage to his leg. If Sootpaw weren't so tired he'd head straight back to camp so he could get bandaged up and he could go back and fight that apprentice again. He shook his head, trying to clear those thoughts, feeling chilly despite the warmth his thick pelt typically offered.
"What did he say? Did you start it?" Lark paw asked once she returned with some marigold and cobwebs. She chewed the marigold carefully, and then, without warning, stuck it on her brother, deciding it would be better if she caught him by surprise. She was surprised a Riverclan cat could do this much damage, she knew the medicine cat apprentice fairly well and had assumed all Riverclan cats where like Sootpaw.

"I'm fine, I guess." Sootpaw shrugged and plopped down next to Bogpaw, finding a sort of comfort in the other being there. "Things are crazy back at camp, with Basilpaw..." He trailed off, thinking about how he couldn't help the little apprentice. "I'm just a little on-edge." He chuckled and offered a warm expression. --
"Technically we did.. Crowfeet came up with the idea to attack them. I just wanted to impr- OW!" Sandpaw spat in pain when Larkpaw suddenly stuck some herbs to the scratch. Once he cooled, he continued speaking, his tone under control now and holding a more gentle quality. "I wanted to impress her. I was sure we were going to win the fight when this grey cat with funny-looking spots showed up, I think he had reinforcements."

"Wh-what h-h-happened with Basiilpaw?" The brown apprentice asked, watching the puff of smoke that came out of his mouth with every breath. The throbbing was going down, but the tom was beginning to feel a bit ill now that the pain was ebbing. He studied the grey apprentice with a curious expression on his face, wanting to know what happened exactly. He wondered if Basilpaw had gotten herself into more trouble, or if she had gotten Sootpaw into trouble by tagging a long and talking with him. --
"You frog-brain," She mewed, affection laced in her voice. "You know that mother is one that's impossible to impress. You're doing fine with your training, you know. You didn't need to attack another apprentice, what if you see him at the next gathering?" She pointed out, rasping her tongue over her mouth in an attempts to get the herb taste out of her mouth.

Sootpaw paused, his ears falling flat as he turned away, feeling now that he was going to be blamed for not being able to heal Basilpaw. "U-Um... She fell into the river today... and she near-drowned.." He meowed slowly, his shoulders tensing once more at the sinking feeling he felt. "She's been unconscious for a long time now and we don't know when she's going to wake up. We don't know if she's going to die or not."
--
"I didn't think about that, to be honest." Sandpaw murmured, thinking about what would happen if he met the other tom at the Gathering. Most likely, it would either end in a fight or a few harsh words tossed before they left one another alone. "I don't get how we're supposed to have complete peace, I don't trust the others for a second.." He sighed this out and glanced back up at his sister. "How is it for you and the other medicine cats? Do you trust them all?"

"Oh." Bogpaw mewed quietly, honestly shocked at the response. How could have she gotten that bad? He wondered with a pang of worry for the younger she cat. The two where never close, no, but he knew she was fairly friendly and she would make a good warrior one day. He couldn't help but think back to when Swamppaw died, they had said those same words to him, and he may have exploded at the medicine cats for that. He took in a ragged breath, a small coughing fit escaping from his throat, before he looked at Sootpaw. "Well... Whatever happens its not your fault. S-somet-times St-starc-clan just needs an extra warrior."
-- "Well... Its different for us, you know? We all get along fairly well... Redfern, the Thunderclan medicine cat, he's a little prickly but he's alright I guess... But the rest of us get along. We don't talk about clan weaknesses, we just... talk." She shrugged before scooting closer to him, giving him a friendly lick. Her littermates pelt was filthy, she had no idea how he had gotten away with it looking so dirty. Of course the medicine cat apprentice was a bit picky on hygiene, one piece of fur out of place was unacceptable.

Sootpaw was surprised by the response and glanced up, blinking his dark amber eyes in gratitude. "I guess you're right." He nodded before suddenly shivering, his thin pelt not giving him much to keep himself warm with. "I can't wait for Newleaf, all the snow melting will be like a dream come true." He tried to change the subject and make further conversation.
--
Th ginger tom snorted a bit, letting Larkpaw lick him. He was used to it and didn't complain too often, though did sometimes get prickly when she got to his tail. It usually had a lot of knots in it that she happened to pull on, but he didn't necessarily blame her. His tail was a much darker shade than the rest of his pelt, making it harder to see where the fur was tangled. "I can't do that with other cats... I feel like it's a disadvantage to make friends in other Clans."

"It's going to b-be miserable, with all that heat," Bogpaw complained, but noted how cold his fellow apprentice was. "B-but I guess that it'll be n-nice, we won't be soaking from melted snow." He conceded grudgingly, trying to sit up. He didn't want Sootpaw getting sick, he had such a thin pelt. "L-lets try to get going." He mewed, shivering himself. At this rate they'd freeze out here.
Lark paw stopped grooming her brother, studying him with her pale green eyes. "Well, its not that your going to be friends outside of the gathering, and what if the clans have to live together again? Like back when Tigerstar ruled Shadowclan?" She pointed out, voice lowering as she mentioned the infamous leader. She hated speaking about him, but it was useful in trying to get her point a crossed. At that time Shadowclan cats and Riverclan cats lived together, surely some of them became friends.

Sootpaw shook his head, his eyes squinted toward the snow in an attempt to catch sight of a nearing patrol. "We can't, not with your leg being as bad as it is. I'm sure once Foggystar notices how long we've been gone he'll send someone to look for us." He felt bad denying the other the security of going back to camp but he only wanted to think of what was best for Bogpaw.
--
"That will never happen again, plus, you know how that ended." Sandpaw lowered his voice as well and looked around nervously, being very aware that it was a touchy subject for a lot of the cats in the Clan. "Also you know that cats from other Clans fall in love and I'd really rather not have that be me.." His gaze moved to Crowfeet for a moment before going back to Larkpaw.

Bogpaw let out a soft sigh, "You don't need to stay here... What if Foggystar doesn't make a patrol?" He asked, his voice a little bit pitched, betraying his anxiety. He didn't want them dying in the snow, it was too cold... And anyways he wanted to be a warrior, so he couldn't die today, right? He shifted himself in an attempts to become more comfortable.
-- Lark paw jabbed him in the sides, "Don't bring mother into this," She hissed, looking aggravated. "Just because she made a mistake doesn't mean you will, too. Plus we don't know if it was a clan cat, it could have been a rogue." She added after a few moments of silence. Despite the fact that Crowfoot wouldn't talk to her, clearly disappointed in her daughter for choosing the peaceful route of medicine, she still felt protective over her.

Sootpaw sighed and moved over to Bogpaw before he pressed against him once more. "I guess if you want to go back that bad, we should start walking now." He gazed toward the thick snow, his expression uncertain and obviously nervous. He didn't know exactly how long he could last walking at a slow pace without his joints freezing up.
--
"A rogue? Ha, that's about as likely as a mouse being our father. Plus, I've noticed that she's a little sweet on the WindClan leader." Sandpaw had an expression of discomfort on his face, as if he was too sure of his words. The WindClan leader, Sparkstar, was a thin ginger cat with darker patches on his pelt- Sandpaw was almost an exact copy of him. "Not that that means anything.." He murmured.

"N-no, your the m-medicine cat y-you kn-n-now best," He muttered, seeing how hesitant the tom was. He didn't want to push Sootpaw to do anything that he didn't want to do, if he didn't think they could make it then they should just stay. He let out a soft sneeze as some snow fell onto his nose. "I-I Sw-swear the n-next t-t-time I see that apprentice I-I'm going to cl-claw him," He grumped with a look of pain on his face.
--- "No, I don't think it could be him..." Lark paw mewed immediately dismissing the thought. He may look similar to the leader, some may say an exact match, but Sandpaw didn't look anything like either Sparkstar or Crowfeet. If she showed no semblance how could they be related. "What about Riverclan? Maybe thats why she's so nasty at their borders, plus Sparkstar does have family in Riverclan. Doesn't he have a brother there or something?" She asked, remembering seeing a tom that looked like the Windclan leader at their last gathering.

"No, no, let's go, Bogpaw. I want what's best for you." Sootpaw nudged him lightly with his nose in an attempt to persuade him. When the other tom began muttering about the ShadowClan cat, Sootpaw let out a short, but good-humoured laugh. "Maybe you'll meet him in battle one day, you never know. I actually recognize him, Larkpaw often speaks of him at Gatherings- well, she complains about him. His name is Sandpaw, I think. Her brother." The grey tom twitched his tail lightly and hummed in thought.
--
Sandpaw squinted his eyes in thought, trying to remember if he saw a similar looking tom in RiverClan. "Really? Do you... uh... remember his name?" Even if he would despise their father no matter which Clan he was in, he was still curious. There was a kit-like desire to prove himself to his parents that he usually pushed down now surfacing at the idea that he may know his father soon. ((Oo that was badly worded I'm sorry))

The tom got up on shaky legs, letting out a huff of agreement. "That poor she cat," He commented as he limped forward, trying to avoid the iciest parts of their path. He didn't need to slip and fall onto Sootpaw, they didn't need another injured apprentice. He wrinkled his nose in distaste as the snow got up to his shoulders, making it hard for him to walk through. He was used to leaping in the snow, it was so much easier than pushing through.
Lark paw shrugged, not meeting her brothers gaze. "No, I don't remember, I'll ask Sootpaw next time I see him, though," She lied, curling her tail over her paws. She was well aware of his name- Pebbleclaw, but didn't want to tell him, not yet. She wasn't quite sure how he would react around the Riverclan warrior. She had met him before when she went to the Riverclan camp with her mentor.

Sootpaw had to bite down on his tongue to keep himself from shivering, the cold soaking into his thin pelt now more than ever. The thick fur of Bogpaw definitely helped a little bit, keeping one of his sides somewhat warm for the time being. He let out a rough exhale once he started tasting blood and chuckled. "I'm gonna need to surround myself with at least four other cats to get warm."
--
"Alright." Sandpaw shook his head and stood up once more before he glanced toward the woods, wondering if he could manage his way into RiverClan territory without being seen. He moved his eyes back to Larkpaw and flicked his tail in an attempt to appear if he'd just spaced out. "What do you say we call it a night? It's getting pretty late."

"Th-that might n-not be enough." He quipped, pressing against the tom in an attempts to keep his friend warm. It wasn't fair that he was warmer than the medicine cat apprentice. Where is the patrol? He thought with a shiver as he shifted once more, unable to keep still. He let out a squeak of surprise as some snow fell on his head from the tree above him. "C-Cold," He muttered, shaking the freezing, frozen water off of his head.
-- Foxtail slipped out of the medicine cats den, looking for either of the apprentices, wondering if anyone told Bogpaw what happened to his friend. The tortoiseshell paused, eyes furrowing in confusion as she realized that they where missing not one but two apprentices. Great Starclan, what would happen if we lost them to? She thought with a pang worry as she looked for Foggystar.
--- "No, Sandpaw. Your going to go and do something mouse-brained, and want to leave me out of it." Larkpaw mewed, seeing the glint in her brothers eyes. if he was going to go and do something that would get himself hurt, she wanted to be apart of it to make sure he didn't get hurt. It was her job to protect him, anyways, since their mother made it clear she had no intentions of protecting them herself.

Sootpaw managed a quiet laugh at the snow on Bogpaw's head, though was cut off quickly by a fit of intense shivers. "Foggys-star should have sent someone out by now.." He flatted his long ears and clenched his teeth, pushing slowly through the snow with his tail tucked between his legs. He couldn't be more excited for NewLeaf, especially with the fact that all of the snow would melt. A flood might become of it but he didn't know if he cared that much about it at the moment.
Foggystar finally got into camp and sighed heavily, shaking out his pelt that was now tangled with lumps of snow. "That was a disaster!" He hissed, walking toward Foxtail with his fur fluffed up. "I'll need a patrol sent out, but a small one. Two or three cats. Sootpaw and Bogpaw were left in the forest by the ShadowClan border." He flicked his tail, as if to gesture in the direction he spoke about.
---
"And? Why would you want to come anyway?" Sandpaw looked at Larkpaw with narrowed eyes, as if he didn't trust his littermate not to give him away to the rest of the Clan. He even cast a quick glance at Crowfeet, knowing just how much trouble he would be in if he were caught going to see their maybe-father. He didn't usually think too much about consequences when h threw himself into things, such as when he launched himself at Bogpaw and received a deep scratch in his side.

Bogpaw nodded in agreement, this time not having much of a response, the tom feeling much too tired to make any verbal commentary. He had another coughing fit, this one wracking the toms body, before he settled his head onto his paws, closing his eyes. Sootpaw was beginning to stutter, too, which wasn't a good sign. The dark brown tom fluffed his fur out in an attempt to keep himself warm, for once wishing for new leaf so he wasn't so cold.
Foxtail nodded, " Alright, Foggystar. Who do you want to go? Are they able to walk without assistance?" She asked, needing to know if both where badly injured. She wanted the patrol to be as ready as possible before they left camp. The tortoiseshell didn't make eye contact with the leader, instead watching her clan mates around her, trying to decide which she would choose for the patrol.
--- "Because I'm your sister and I'm the one who makes sure you don't get killed." Lark paw retorted, swatting her brother with a cream colored paw. He never thought things out and needed a voice of reason whenever he went out, in her opinion at least. The she cat wanted to protect her brother at all costs, even if it meant going into a rival clans territory to make sure he was alright.
