I hate Rainflower and Lizardstripe pretty much equally, so I'll do a ship with each. I have several favorite characters... Oof, no matter who I pick from my "favorite character" list, this is gonna be so gross... Lizardstripe and Rainflower never even deserved their original mates, so I really hate the idea of shipping them with any of my favorite characters... *shudders* Here goes the nightmare fuel...
Lizardstripe x Ivypool
Rainflower x Leafpool
Ewwwwwww, disgusting! *retches*
But to Ivypool and Leafpool's credit, even if it was possible, they'd never fall for such heartless pieces of fox dung anyway!
Or, alternatively...
Lizardstripe x Breezepelt
Rainflower x Lionblaze
*retches twice* I don't even want to come up with other ships.
*Ivypool, Leafpool, Breezepelt and Lionblaze glare at me for coming up with these awful ships*
If the Erins made those terrible ships, I'd rage quit on the series, without hesitation.

Squirrelflight (Favorite) and Bramblestar (Least favorite) are already in a relationship, so i don't react much. I just wish they would break up since she deserves so much better.
But my second favorite is Dovewing, and if she was in a relationship with Bramblestar... it would be unhealthy and maybe borderline abusive. Just gross. I would probably hate Bramble even more and a bit angry with the Erins since she would be in an unhealthy relationship again.

Shadowstar x Crowfeather - I really don't know how this would work out. They're similar enough in their personalities that it could maybe work, but that might actually be detrimental considering that Crowfeather's relationship with another similar cat, Nightcloud, crashed and burned. Shadowstar never took a mate, so I don't know what she'd be like in a relationship. I could see the two of them being an incredibly efficient leader/deputy duo, though.
Hollyleaf x Finleap - This would be a disaster. Hollyleaf mentions to her mother that she doesn't want kits; Finleap is notorious for attempting to pressure his mate into having children when she didn't feel ready. Hollyleaf wouldn't put her ambition on hold to have kits that she doesn't want, and would probably claw Finleap if he tried to pull the same crap that he did with Twigbranch. There's also the fact that it would be a cross-Clan relationship, and I think Hollyleaf would need to be absolutely smitten to even consider breaking the Code, which I can't see her feeling for Finleap.
Feathertail x Bramblestar - They don't really have much chemistry, but I can see them being functional as a couple. The two of them could at least bond over being judged for who their parents are. That being said, if Feathertail found out that Brambleclaw was training in the Dark Forest with Tigerstar the relationship would automatically be over.
Nightcloud x Raggedstar - I imagine that this would play out pretty similarly to both of their canon relationships, actually: Raggedstar is awful, and Nightcloud tries to salvage her relationship but eventually grows to resent her mate. Unlike Nightcloud and Crowfeather, I couldn't see her and Raggedstar even being friends after their inevitable break-up.

Favorite: Jayfeather. I like how he's just done with everyone's garbage, and he actually tries to be proactive within the series. For being the most fantastic main character within the saga, he's probably the most relatable of them all. That's not me being a grump-butt, that's me remembering reading a scene where another cat is someone crying over a dead, pregnant mouse to Lionblaze and thinking outloud "the world is ending, what are you doing?"
Least: ...Oh... sheesh.
After reexamining the Squirrelflight x Brambleclaw/star relationship and surrounding drama intensely, I've come to absolutely loathe Squirrelflight. She's an emotionally abusive trainwreck, and an immature brat whose only saving grace is that the plot happenstance lets her get away with being carelessly impulsive. She's a Sue among Sues, and even more abusive than Bramblestar than he ever was (That moonkitti video is so wrong in so many ways... it makes several problematic statements outright denying certain people's experiences with emotional abuse, doesn't understand Squirrelflight's character within SH or the Cycle of Abuse for that matter, and, within several parts in recapping the events of the books outright lies by omission. I'm not dumping that multi-page tangent here; if you want to argue then pms are open). The only reason the fandom seems to think otherwise is because she's written almost as if she's made to pander to emotionally immature teenage females. At first, this was tolerable since that was the point of her character, to be a 'rising star' of sorts finding her place in the new generation of cats, but she never grows out of this naivity. She never gets better, and it can quickly become grating if you're outside of that demographic, and makes it baffling to read that some people want to see her become leader, when she has absolutely no qualifications for it.
I had to read her super in chunks. But, not because of her....Β Β Oh, no,Β That goes to my answer...
Moonlight.
Moonlight is one of the dumbest characters I have ever read in fiction. Foremost, anyone ever hear of the drama of people calling the Tribe of Rushing Water racist caricatures? Turns out, most of those points apply to the Sisters, except even stronger - the Tribe is shown mingling with the Clans, albeit imbalanced in terms of their power dynamic, but the Clans are shown needing the Tribe on several occasions. In every single instance in which we see the Sisters, the Clans ARE shown to be more capable in every single way besides cat size. It doesn't help that the only member to move between those groups, Tree, outright loathes his old culture. SkyClan even houses the Sisters in what could be called a reservation within camp until they're ready to move... Whoops. The only edge the Sisters have is the invention of the ghost residence, which is completely arbitrary. So, right out the bat there's issues, but... hey... that could be salvagable, right?
Not here. Moonlight is a complete hypocrite and a moron.
Let me remind everyone of something - the Sisters capture Squirrelflight and Leafstar because they're close to the camp... but they didn't mark it because they don't believe in territory. That's silly. Okay, temporary territory is fine, after all one of them was pregnant... but then they go and wonder into ShadowClan territory after Leafstar and Bramblestar agreed to leave... because ShadowClan intruded near the edge of their makeshift territory. Starting to lose me there... but still not making me fully double-take. So the Sisters, then.... wonder into ShadowClan territory wondering why ShadowClan wondered into theirs? And then got surprised they got attacked?
Her excuse for this isn't much better, proclaiming that they just confused the scents or whatever. Let's really stew on this for a moment: by this point the Sisters know that the Clans have established territory that they defend, and the Sisters could not tell that it was a different Clan they were wondering into. For all intents and purposes, the Sisters would have willfully wondered into ThunderClan/SkyClan territory after capturing some of their higher positions and showing hostility to both groups. According to the Sisters' state of mind right now, the Clans are willing to wrong them, so surely it wouldn't be out of the question for them to assume that the Clan cats would be willing to hurt them, right? They should have considered that at least when wondering into a stranger's territory, since they realized ShadowClan were strangers. Their entire plan revolved around the Clans acting in good faith, when they were going to ask why the Clans weren't acting in good faith. Let me revise that, they trespassed into ShadowClan territory, wondering why ShadowClan trespassed into a territory without markers, an issue the Clan cats stated, and got surprised that they were attacked by strangers.
Suppose that it had been ThunderClan or SkyClan that they found on the first attempt because of some apprentice wondering around or... something. What then? They go out and attack ThunderClan immediately and then have nowhere to go when one of theirs gets injured? Do they walk into ThunderClan camp and just hope that they don't get captured as they had done to Squirrelflight and Leafstar? It's like if you suspected someone was stealing your mail, so you drive to a random neighbor's house and demand them to give back your mail. What, exactly, do you think is going to happen?
I brought up Squirrelflight earlier to point something out, in that we never see any arguments for why Squirrelflight should be leader other than some platitudes like "she does what she thinks is right, even if she doesn't think it through" that address none of her flaws. Moonlight demonstrates why that isn't good enough, because she's that idea taken to its extreme. What do we get for her "acting by what she thinks is right?" An obliviously sexist zealot whose lack of planning puts her group in danger for completely silly reasons. We get a mother who doesn't understand why her son resents her for casting him out, not understanding why 'it's just culture' isn't a good enough answer for him. We get someone whose first instinct when facing confrontation, is to buffalo her size around other groups, even while she's pregnant.
The books do not do a good job of calling her out on this, so, there. There's that.
How do I react? Well... we never did figure out who fathered those kits of Moonlight's, so... eh?

That being said, if Feathertail found out that Brambleclaw was training in the Dark Forest with Tigerstar the relationship would automatically be over. Is it bad that I genuinely ship these two together in some AUs? To me, they actually had chemistry for a short while in Midnight before it was sadly made very obvious that she liked Crowpaw and he liked Squirrelpaw. But still, if Brambleclaw's character had been even slightly written differently in TNP without him going back on his character development and word from TPB in regards to not following/listening to his father Tigerstar instead of training with him and Hawkfrost in the Dark Forest like he so foolishly did in canon, then I think Brambleclaw and Feathertail being mates would have been way better than what ended up happening in canon. Then again, this is my own personal bias for BrambleFeather and against BrambleSquirrel speaking so there's that.
