Since I already made a Review Thread for the Series 2 Minis which came out during this summer, I thought to also do the same for the newest official merchandise from the toy section of the Warrior Cats website that got released and was made available on there exactly ten days ago.
I got everything included from the newly published items except for Leafpool. The reasoning behind this decision was that, while I liked her design for how similar she looked to the one made for her sister Squirrelflight and the obvious connection these two plush toys thus share, it is not really what I personally imagined her to look like. Granted, the plush version of Cinderpelt I did get does not have much to do with how she is described in canon or how the fandom sees her but she is still just an interesting new design choice to me. Of course, all of the jokes about her plush actually being Crowfeather in disguise to be with Leafpool or even his father Deadfoot because of him having a twisted paw as well, are quite amusing nonetheless.
Anyways, without further ado, here is my review!
Everything together:
The Plushies (Cinderpelt and Ivypool):
The Minis:
Yellowfang and Ivypool
Front:
Back:
Squirrelflight and Scourge
Front:
Back:
Mudclaw and Ashfur
Front:
Back:
Bonus (my cat with two edgelords of the Warriors series):
Edit: I was so busy putting up the pictures that I completely forgot to talk about the actual quality of this merchandise. Sorry about that!
The Plushies
Both Cinderpelt and Ivypool are lovely to look at and feel very cuddly to me. My Cinderpelt's muzzle was sewed on a little crooked but I love her regardless of it. They both actually feel different from one another as well. Cinderpelt's fur is softer to touch and she seems to be more squishable than Ivypool who is a lot more sturdy and whose fur is shorter and feels way rougher than Cinderpelt's.
The Minis
Some of them have small blemishes and little imperfections such as some color bleeding on one of Squirrelflight's eyes, a tiny dent here and there and the ear seams not being fully cut out on a few figurines. But other than that, they are cute. Out of all of them, Ashfur is the best one when it comes to quality, design and his expression. I don't mind anymore that he has long fur here, tabby markings or that his eyes are pale blue instead of canonically dark blue. Squirrelflight's eyes look rather yellow once again on these photos like in the sneek peak ones on the website but I can assure you that they are green. A very light green but still. In general, I think that it's interesting how the creative team behind these Minis has seemingly chosen to only include one cat with a special pose in each new release. For the second Minis wave it was Cinderpelt with her weird "I'm going to shove you off of a cliff, Brightheart!" pose and this time around it's Ashfur either getting ready to throwdown or about to point that raised paw to his chest and tell Squirrelflight once again how much his heart bled for her. I would love to see every Mini in the future receive an individual pose and facial expression but who knows if the creative team will ever put in the effort for it. Scourge not being shown with an icy glare or his fandom interpretation self/version of an over the top evil grin is such a waste of an opportunity though. Just saying.
