Probably Swiftpaw, Cinderpelt, or (Spoiler for ALitM) Graystripe, Shadowsight even says that the smell of it made him feel sick. And Shadowsight is a medicine cat so he should be used to the smell of blood.

Tigerclaw/star. No contest. He literally died nine times in a row from getting sliced open chin to tail by Scourge. I know he was pure evil and deserved to be punished for his numerous crimes but that was just complete overkill.

No question, definitely Tigerstar. But Swiftpaw's death was also very gory.

Tigerstar's death

Tigerstar is probably the most memorable death in the series purely on how unexpected and gruesome it was.
I also like to add Swiftpaw and Brindleface. Though we never actually see them die, their descriptions of being mauled by a pack of dogs horrified me when I was younger.

Tigerstar's death, hands down. I can't imagine how gory it was to see him bleed out from his stomach nine times over, and how horribly painful it must have been.

Honestly, Ravenwing's death disturbs me, though more because of the imagery of the body being left to be eaten by birds

Was Antpelt's death gory or just disturbing? It's been a while since I read OOTS but I remember being pretty disturbed by his death. iirc it was pretty gory with Thistleclaw and Hawkfrost? been forever since i've read OoTS, ganging up on him and basically toying with him and taking blows at him before Thistleclaw finally delivers the terminal blow, pretty sure he ripped his throat out? or might have been a slitted open stomach, then there's the horrified wails of his clanmates being described later when they find him soaked in his own blood in his nest. followed by Ivypool eviscerating him from throat to tail and being and her horrified reaction of the realization of what she's done, also was said he had a ghostly frightened expression and clouded gaze right before she killed him, then they have him convulsing and gushing blood out onto the ground, with all the DF cats watching with malicious, bloodthirsty gleams in their eyes as he dies horrendously, then there's the disturbing, ominous moment when his spirit(pretty sure blood as well?) just disappears from existence, and the full-weight of what's at stake hits ivypool full force. overall, a super dark, disturbing and harrowing, poignant Bone-chilling and Melancholic moment, I'm getting goosebumps just from recalling it. Just goes to show the truly powerful, and foreboding senses of dread that Cherith Baldry has woven into her prose over the years, she certainly has no qualms making spine-chilling, truly vividly disturbing death scenes and isn't afraid to make her reader's skins crawl.

Besides the obvious like Tigerstar, I'd also go with Toad from Hawkwing's Journey. He was mauled to death by dogs and iirc it describes how Hawking could even hear Toad getting torn apart.

Just goes to show the truly powerful, and foreboding senses of dread that Cherith Baldry has woven into her prose over the years, she certainly has no qualms making spine-chilling, truly vividly disturbing death scenes and isn't afraid to make her reader's skins crawl. You remember incorrectly. Thistleclaw just gave him a thrashing, Hawkfrost wasn't involved at all nor was his throat damaged or his stomach cut open. "His powerful claws sunk into Antpelt's shoulders and he shook him like a fox. Ivypool watched in dismay as blood sprang into the Windclan warrior's fur; the hot reek of it caught in her throat. "Thistleclaw, that's enough!" she yowled. The warrior ignored her. Stretching out his neck he fastened his teeth in Antpelt's scruff and tossed him down the heap, to land hard on the ground in front of Ivypool. Antpelt was moving feebly, trying to rise to his paws, only to flop down again with a groan." Honestly, I'm not actually sure how this killed him. None of what Thistleclaw did was all that traumatic. Ivypool did slice open Antpelt's belly for round 2, but no convulsions. He just spasms once and then that's it. The pool of blood is pretty nasty though, that part is true. Anyway, my contribution to the thread, Darktail getting beaten to death by Violetshine and Needletail until he's a bloody heap that can't even move is pretty raw. I don't think we've seen that in Warriors except for Bone, and that was mostly off-screen

Sootfur's death always shook me, I'm surprised no one's mentioned it yet Oh, I definitely remember that one just for how cruel of a fate it was. Poor Sootfur got both of his back legs broken by a badger at the end of Twilight and was even mentioned to be in too much pain to even notice Squirrelflight properly when she tried to help him get to safety. Another badger (or even the same one) then attacks them and the next time Squirrelflight has time to look around for Sootfur he has a gash in his throat and his eyes are blank with death. This is especially sad because of his own mother Willowpelt dying to save him from a badger back in the old forest territories when he was an apprentice.

Tigerstar, absolutely. Though Swiftpaw's death was pretty gory as well.

Swiftpaw, Tigerstar 1 and Sootfur. Whilst it isn't super gory, the mental image of Stream's death in Tree's Roots is also super disturbing. Especially considering he was terrified in the moments leading up to the lightning strike and his body is described as smelling of fire and pain e___e yikes
