Welcome to Otaku Haven, an anime & manga club. OH has been on the original forums for a few months, but since the forums's sad closure, we are finally back in business, set on making a new welcoming home for our fellow otakus here.
Whether you love anime with all your heart, a newcomer to this world, or even if you don't want to get into it but have a piqued curiosity, this is the place for you.
But, just be aware that anime is not the one and only thing we talk about here. We have discussions over video games, manga, movies, music, and everything else in between! So, please, do come inside and make yourself at home, right here at OH.

1. Please show respect.○ If you hate anime, then don't post here. Okay? Doing things like calling us "weeaboos" or spamming our chats with disdain towards something that we are passionate about will get you reported on the spot. I'm not kidding. This rule applies to the members as well. I don't want to see arguing, or even debating over here. Be nice to others, and they'll be nice to you in return. 2. Don't post if you're not a member.○ Yes, I know, this rule is unfair. But honestly, if it occurs more than three times, I'll have to count it as spamming. I'd much prefer for you to join us before you post. It's not that hard. Have a concern with this? Ask me about it. 3. Add spoilers when needed! ○ Please, please add a spoiler tag/warning when you need to. You wouldn't want to reveal something that someone hasn't seen yet.

○ To join us, just fill out this small form. It doesn't have to be long and detailed; you only need a few sentences. ~ Username and/or preferred nicknames: ~ Your favorite manga/anime, when you first started watching anime, and why you love it in general: ~ If you remember, were ou a OH from the original WCF?: ~ Anything else you want to add?:
○ Moonshine06 ( Moon, Moony, "Tsuki", or whatever you'd like to call me. )Hello, I'm Moon. You may know me as the creator of the original Otaku Haven back at WCF. ~ Currently, my favorite anime are Hetalia, Tokyo Ghoul, and Free!, but I have a bunch of others that I cannot possibly list all in one post. ~ I began to delve into the world of Japan at around 10 years of age, and I've been hooked ever since. And being deeply rooted in Japanese culture, I call myself a true otaku. The first anime I watched were Naruto and Ginga Densetsu. From there, I began watching AOT and Black Butler. ~ I love anime....for anime. I think it's the more visual approach & special effects that hook one into it, as well as the arsenal of genres to choose from. I believe that even if you don't like anime, there has to be one that suits your interests. ~ I have a huge K-pop obsession, with my favorite bands being BTS, EXO, and Seventeen. I have been studying Japanese (by myself!) for almost a year now, and can proudly say that I can speak and write it fairly well. ○ theRavenflight ( Raven ) ~ Favorite anime: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle First anime: Peach Girl ~ Why I Love It: Have been a fan for like...eight years now. Anime has been there for me for my entire teenage part of my life and watching it was able to calm me down. I actually haven't watched much anime compared to the amount of manga I have read. I am not too terribly into today's anime. I do enjoy older shows, shows that were around when I started to get into anime (so, 2008 and before). ~ No. ~ I'm currently trying to learn how to speak Japanese, so if anyone knows how to, any help would be cool ○ Lorekeeper Crow ( Lore, Crow, Rook, or really anything else you might like to call me. I'm not fussy. Just please make sure I know it, because if I forget, I will likely end up ignoring you unintentionally. )~ My favourite manga's Fullmetal Alchemist. I haven't read all the way through it, but I still love it to bits! As for when I started- I think it was sometime in 2011, when I bought the first part of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time manga. However, I only really got seriously invested when my friend loaned me a few episodes of Vampire Knight so I knew what she was talking about. I kind of got hooked, I have to admit... As for why I love it? I love the art styles, I love animation, and it's honestly all quite interesting. ~ Nope. I always wanted to join, but worried I wouldn't fit in, seeing as I haven't read as much as everyone else has read or watched. I decided to take a chance and join this time around, though! ~ Anima is a great manga and criminally underrated. I love it. ○ petewentztheemogod ( please call me thistle or pete (yes I am thistlehawk) )~ My favourite anime has to be Death Note. Yes, I love and live for the darker side of things. That including anime. I first started watching anime with Pokemon (ok I know it's not really anime but) back in the mid-2000s. The daycare I went to had the original season on tape (believe it or not) and would put it on all the time. I got really into anime when Black and White came out, that was when I was exposed to other anime like Naruto and the other things that were on Cartoon Network and such during that time. I love anime because it is so much different than Western cartoons. You aren't going to find a violent and gory cartoon over here unlike Japan. And most of the time the art is absolutely gorgeous. Take Attack On Titan for example. As an artist that stuff is absolute eye candy. ~ I saw it a couple times, but I never joined. So no. ~ Talk to me about emo bands! But my favorite would probably be Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I started watching anime... a few years back, if Avatar: TLA counts c; I love anime for the style and the stories, and just... The only way to say this is that if you like the style, the art is just gorgeous.

This month's AotM is...Tᴏᴋʏᴏ Gʜᴏᴜʟ| Horror, Physiological |-- Tokyo has become a cruel and merciless city—a place where vicious creatures called “ghouls” exist alongside humans. The citizens of this once great metropolis live in constant fear of these bloodthirsty savages and their thirst for human flesh. However, the greatest threat these ghouls pose is their dangerous ability to masquerade as humans and blend in with society.
Based on the best-selling supernatural horror manga by Sui Ishida, Tokyo Ghoul follows Ken Kaneki, a shy, bookish college student, who is instantly drawn to Rize Kamishiro, an avid reader like himself. However, Rize is not exactly who she seems, and this unfortunate meeting pushes Kaneki into the dark depths of the ghouls' inhuman world. In a twist of fate, Kaneki is saved by the enigmatic waitress Touka Kirishima, and thus begins his new, secret life as a half-ghoul/half-human who must find a way to integrate into both societies.

~ Username and/or preferred nicknames: Tricksterheart (Trickster, Tricky, Tricks, Trick) ~ Your favorite manga/anime, when you first started watching anime, and why you love it in general: - my favorite anime tend to change because I watch quite a lot, but my current favorites would have to be Owari no Seraph, Hetalia, Durarara!!, Free!, Haikyuu!!, Yowamushi Pedal, Kiznaiver, and Bungou Stray Dogs - my favorite manga are currently Tokyo Ghoul, Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Souma, Owari no Seraph and Shingeki no Kyojin - I first got into manga a few years ago with Naruto but it wasn't until early 2015 when I really got into anime and other manga. my first anime were probably Naruto (although I didn't get far into it), Sword Art Online, Ouran High School Host Club and Death Note. I kept watching more from there on. - I can't really give you one reason as to why I like it but... anime can feel so real and it's so amazing how connected you can be with the show and the characters. there's just so many to choose from with all the different genres and art styles. despite the many series I've seen by now, I've barely even scraped the top in what anime has to offer. If you remember, were you a OH from the original WCF?: yep. ~ Anything else you want to add?: I love learning about Japan and Asian cultures in general and I've recently started learning Japanese ^^ I'm a fan of K-Pop and I have been getting into some K-Dramas lately.

Hello!
I don't check the forums everyday, but thank you for adding me ^.^. I haven't watched many anime but I have read my fair share of manga. I think that anime/manga culture is slowly becoming more popular and accepted in the West, which is nice because I see so much more anime merchandise and books than I used to.
