A lot of people say that Graystripe never said he loved Millie, but I am rereading Long Shadows when Millie caught greencough, and he did say that he loved her.
I still don't know whether he loves Millie because he sees Silverstream in her, but he definitely confirmed that he loved her.

And even if Graystripe never told Millie he loved her on-screen, his feelings for her should've still been obvious anyway given his actions, especially in the manga.

Out of all the fathers in POT and OOTS, I always thought Graystripe was one of the most caring and enthusiastic about being a father. While other fathers were just "there", or we only knew they were fathers cause someone said so, we almost always knew who he was and what he was doing. Even Dustpelt, one of the most respected fathers in the series, doesn't seem to have said a word about 4 of his dead children who had just recently died.
I really do think Graystripe doesn't get enough credit. Sure he's not the best, but seriously, while some parents have lost half their litter and have not said a word, one kit of Graystripe's gets sick and Ravenpaw all the way in the old forest would have known his grief, stress, and worry.

I still believe Graystripe is an awful father. This doesn't change my mind on him. Whatever he said about his kits in Bramblestar's Storm or the others means nothing because he's never really been there for his children, especially Blossomfall when she got yelled at. He boasts about Feathertail and Stormfur, but says nothing about the 3 Bs. It's like he prefers his previous family over his current family, which is disgusting if you ask me. There should be no favorites. You should love your family equally, at least, depending on the situation.
