had a weird dream last night I was Martenclaw, which was actually relevant(...ish) because it meant I was really strong. I entered some sort of competition that was like...1/3 pretend Hunger Games (in which you fought but didn't actually die), 1/3 jungle parkour set to Bon Jovi, and 1/3 speedrun. Also it took place in some sort of hologram.
So. I arrived in the jungle and then basically fast-forwarded through the introduction, the trek to the battlegrounds, and the fighting or whatever. Then I used my super strong arm muscles to traverse dangerous cliffs while You Give Love a Bad Name played, and I think knowing the song was part of the challenge?
Then I came up on the final challenge. The finish line. So at this point I was pretty far ahead of everyone else, except for one person who I saw struggling against the waterfall. To cross the finish line, you first had to (continuing from the run through the jungle) sprint through a river with some very unlikely waterfalls that could carry you over the edge. The river looked like sand. Then you had to make a jump that was programmed to be humanly impossible...except...the speedrunners found the secret. There was a rock you could step on that would glitch you to run extra fast, and if you timed everything just right, you would barely have enough momentum to make it onto the high rocks and reach the finish line. Only about three people had ever pulled it off before.
But I was Martenclaw and I was strong! I stepped on that rock, I felt the hologram warp to boost my speed, and I jumped for the rocks. I made it. The rocks started crumbling, but I climbed up on top of them. I won--I was about the fourth person ever to win.
Then there was a girl behind me. She hadn't done the rock glitch, or maybe just hadn't done it correctly. She begged me to pull her up onto the rocks with me so we could both win. I said I would, but only if she took a picture of me first, so I could prove I was the one who made the jump, purely for the sake of my pride. She took the picture, and I was just about to pull her up when my alarm went off. For a few seconds, between dream and reality, I felt really bad for failing her. |

okay I didn't update for Halloween  but! the next update will be the "Halloween update" (unless it's Valentine's Day in which case it'll be the other holiday the comics attempt to consistently celebrate...) and hey, Halloween updates are even better at the inappropriate time of year! |

god this morning I was like “okay my months of deliberation* have reached their conclusion: that person in math is cute”
and then this afternoon I saw adidas boy and umm
math classmate who, adidas boy is the most beautiful person on earth 😍
why is this my life now I don’t even KNOW HIM
update: okra so in my dream last night I encountered adidas boy at what might have been a frozen yogurt shop; we were acquaintances, though not close friends or anything, and he was wearing a really cute outfit
*update: comparing this person’s current appearance and photo roster image I have figured out that they have become much cuter over time which explains the months of deliberation |

I’m injured (not badly) huh...you know, it’s possible my toe might actually be broken
right on schedule, too! I broke my toe (a different one) just before Thanksgiving two years ago
this time what happened was I kicked something in the dark Wednesday night
(two years ago I accidentally kicked a suitcase because I misjudged where it was in relation to my path) also frog guy was several minutes late to physics today (math was canceled again) and I got a B on my exam, not great but not too bad |
