I love Crowfeather but imma have to go with yes. He’s better now but BreezePAW(who did nothing wrong back then) absolutely deserved a better father.
For the way he treated Holly/Jay/Lion I can’t really blame him. He did everything he could to fix his life in WindClan and it was really uncalled for. He might have reacted better if Hollyleaf confronted him about the truth privately. Also Leafpool absolutely had no right to hide the truth from him. It was very unfair imo. He could have been better if he knew from the start.

I'm leaning towards no because how he treated Breezepelt during POT was just really gross. Neglecting Breezepelt was just... eugh. But since I feel like he's grown to be a better cat at least, I'll put him at "subpar."

Lol, he's my fav but I definitely don't like him for his parenting skills. He's gotten better and I don't think he's as bad as some people make him out to be, but he still wasn't good.

I voted yes due to his severe emotional neglect of BreezePAW, which IMO bordered on emotional abuse at times.
But as for him being a father during/after CT, I don’t think he was still a bad father, and I was pleasantly surprised when he not only apologized to Breezepelt and showed through his actions he would be a better father from then on, but he apologized to Lion and Jay, and even Nightcloud!
But in spite of his positive change/character growth during CT, my vote was still yes, he was absolutely a terrible father to Breezepaw before CT.

He absolutely is. Emotionally neglecting Breezepaw was just not okay at all.

Yes. He does get better in CT, props to him for that, but for the majority of Breezepelt's life, especially in childhood, Crowfeather is a bad father.

He’s one of the worst fathers in the series. I don’t think I’ll ever get over him praising Lionpaw so easily, who at the time he didn’t even know was his son, and then brushing off and even frowning upon Breezepaw, who had done the exact same thing as Lionpaw and was just looking for one single ounce of approval from his father. I hated reading that scene because of just how genuinely unfair that was. The entire narrative from the Three all felt bad about how blatantly awful Crowfeather was and how thankful they were that Brambleclaw actually praised them and loved them.
No matter his later actions in life, Breezepaw deserved better his entire youth and it’s saddening that he had to grow up with that kind of parent.

He is, although that makes his character a lot more interesting in my opinion. It goes well with his story and downfall.

The fact that Crowfeather only took Nightcloud as his mate to prove his loyalties, and probably never had any intentions of having kits, undoubtedly contributes to his questionable parental methods. He’s always been a reticent and estranged cat, and after his two doomed romances making him even more closed-off from everyone else certainly didn’t help, I wouldn’t call him the worse father ever, as his neglectful behavior and abstention is a pretty common response to experiencing heartbreak, or personal lose of a loved one, and many do become quite distant and apathetic, and unsympathetic, indifferent towards those that do try to get close to them out of fear of further lose, even though they might not show any restraint showing hollowed praise and affection to acquaintances or strangers they don’t have any risk of becoming closely associated with. Glad he’s realized the strain and hurt and resentment he was causing in Breezepaw, and has become a much more involved father, and now has a healthy relationship with breezepaw, and others In general.

Crowfeather was definitely a bad father, especially to Breezepelt. Him saying that he did not consider/recognize Hollyleaf, Lionblaze and Jayfeather as his kits at that fateful Gathering right to their faces was also not a great moment. But he is now at least trying to be better even if it is way too late for his ThunderClan kits to ever properly see him as a father figure (Brambleclaw/star got that covered just fine). There are worse fathers in this series but he was still a neglectful one as well for most of Breezepelt's (and the Original Three's) life.
