Okay to start with if there is already a clan like this, I would love to know if I could join it. I have not done any form of roleplay or writing [other than college papers] in a long time so I am beyond rusty.
That being said, I recently [today] was recommended a channel on Youtube about Warrior Cats-a series I hadn't even thought about in over 2 years-and one video in particular lit a fire underneath me.
I have since been reacquainting myself with lore and plots in preparation to start doing roleplays based on the series again.
I posted a longer version of the concept based on the video and my own thoughts in the spoiler just to keep the first post a bit cleaner.
I was looking to do a roleplay based on the ideas of the video. So people don't have to watch the video to know what I am thinking of [even though I would highly recommend you do], here's a list of the main points.
EDIT: I reached the point of the deep dive where I learned of Tree's existence. I feel dumb, but it just goes to show how I need to at least re-read at least the last few arcs to get an idea of the current culture of the clans.
Couple of other ideas, not mentioned in the video but I either thought of, or saw in comments below

- The four clans shouldn't have borders anymore, not getting rid of the five clans all together, but more erasing the borders between them.
- clans will still be separated, not by borders, but their specific camps. There will automatically be cats hunting closer to home, but there would be (in theory) no more disputes about what side of the border a squirrel was caught on.
- Lets say a clan is starving for some reason, they can request to house their queens, kits and elders in a healthier clan (taking care of kits and elders first is already in the code) while spreading out their normal hunting ground.
- Cats should be able to immigrate to new clans if they feel like they would belong better there, like their traits fit better with another clan, or maybe they fall in love with a cat from another clan. (this will not automatically get rid of all strife if a cat decides to change clans, maybe their parents are prideful and think that switching is still morally wrong even though it is allowed, maybe they find themselves not melding well with the new clan and have to deal with the fact they may be going back to a clan that thinks they were 'betrayed' by them leaving, ext.)
- Get rid of the concept of 'half breeds' where a cat from one clan can, without going against the code, become mates with a cat from another clan.
- Possible new offshoot of a warrior that has no clan allegiance, but with their high level of skill, nomads their way through the different clans to help keep things relatively safe.
- Having medicine cats more openly share ideas, herbs, etcetera with their peers from other camps. They already do this, but from what I remember this was more of an under the table deal than something they did.
- Get rid of the concept that medicine cats cant have mates/kits, but to supplement to make sure that there is always at least one cat able to do that job, increase the Medicine cats to two with one apprentice per clan. [Maybe have a rule in place about how only one of the medicine cat can have kits under six moons at a time]
- Mediator cats, one per clan pair, no apprentices. They are responsible for the relations between two clans, and would act as an unbiased opinion when a dispute comes up. If a mediator dies, a new one is appointed from the clans that the mediator came from and trained by the other mediators remaining [my own thing: they would ideally be technically part of two clans, the two they are mediating between, and would split their time between the two clans]
- Messenger cats, where their job is to travel between the different clans in case something bad happens (two per clan, one stays in camp in case of an emergency and one goes out with the next patrol in case something is found so they can immediately start getting that news to other clans.)
Couple of other ideas, not mentioned in the video but I either thought of, or saw in comments below
- A ceremony for when a cat leaves and enters a new clan.
- Plots surrounding that one guy ruining it for everyone (like pretending there is still a border when there isn't any and tries/succeeds in getting a following)
- Camps are still considered 'belonging' to each clan. Where cats are not allowed to just enter each others camps without reason. Could cause similar border conflicts but possibly more serious because it is right at their doorstep.
- I would like to have it be more fan clans, allows for an easier creation of the full culture and the sub cultures for each clan
