I’m an advanced-novella writer looking for a RP partner acting as a GM; I have writing samples and will request the same. IRL gender irrelevant.
Twenty years ago, in another world, a man and a woman loved each other very much. Out of a darkness where nothing had gone as it should have, and where an immortal, delusional tyrant was probably going to take over the world, they still managed to give birth to something precious, something worth caring for. The man had everything taken from him, and the woman had given everything away.
But they had him. And Eragon, their child, would go on to fulfill his destiny and save the world.
This is not that world. There is still a dragon, and a bloodthirsty emperor that needs to be slaughtered – but a bedraggled, world-weary and yearning woman desperate for a romantic connection was perhaps not the ideal candidate for regicide.
It does mean she might just be the perfect candidate for another adventure entirely, though.
The Quest For Love.

I’ve spent a few weeks thinking about how I’d make an Inheritance Cycle RP unique and interesting; should I propose something GRIMDARK, really lean into those scenes where Eragon has to mull on those innocent conscripts he’s slaughtering? Or maybe make it something deeply and irrevocably political and ambitious like my other prompts, have the main character try and become the new Empress themselves.
Then I looked up posts revolving around this franchise and I realized, ‘Would I even get a response to this shit?’
I came across an even more important realization about this book series, the one major gripe that everybody and their mother had that, given the chance, they’d fix in a heartbeat. Arya and Eragon not getting together.
That lead me to the realization that if I’m going to do this as a RP, what I really should do is make it a tragic romcom that just so happens to involve an epic adventure, politics, war, magic, dragons, death – and most importantly. . .
Romance. I was inspired by the comic ‘I Roved Out’ when designing this prompt, for those that may understand that reference, so it may be useful to keep that tone in mind (albeit not with all the gratuitousness) when imagining this RP. For those who haven't, I'm not looking to make a joke out of the books, but I would like for it to be approached with a wink-and-nod acknowledgement that our protagonist is a lazy, disinterested woman whose passion for revolution is slowly kindled throughout the story whilst she's only really going along with her 'destiny' to find a soulmate.
Because that's funny to me.
Got a Discord at RavenDaas for those interested.
