I actually like both of them. I think I like Ivypool more though, because shes colder and shes the mother of my fav character. Shes just a cool/chill mother/cat I like Dovewing because she‘s a nice cat and the mother of my second fav character. So im gonna go for Ivy

Ivypool because her character arc doesn't revolve around a shitty romance.

Ivypool but like I'm not really a fan of either? I like them being in obscurity Huh, I always assumed Ivypool was your favorite. What's your opinion on both, if you don't mind me asking? Ivypool definitely isn't a favorite cat of mine. I just understand her perspective which is why I defend her. I'm very meh on her and don't particularly have strong feelings either way. She's neutral. And while I appreciate how Dovewing is as a mother, her character was largely ruined for me by dragging out of Tigerstar and some things she's done towards others that I just find a bit immature. She's neutral-dislike. Either way. I'm just happy they're likely going to both fade to the background after TBC as I don't believe the new protagonists are strongly enough related to them for them to make a come back

Ivypool's and Dovewing's stories aren't really even that great. They're both good characters with a lot of wasted potential who argued a lot about DovexTiger. Nobody cared about them, and both characters were honestly better off without a PoV.

Ivypool because her character arc doesn't revolve around a shitty romance. As far as general personality I think they're both likeable, but I agree, it irritates me how so much of Dovewing's character arc revolves around romance - a love triangle where both love interests treat her poorly, at that! And I really dislike when characters prioritize love interests more than anything else in life (such as platonic friends and family) so Dovewing changing clans entirely just to be with Tigerheart (who, again, treats her quite poorly, he's often selfish and controlling) was such a huge letdown. Her overall concept has so much potential but canon wastes it by spending the majority of the time making her obsess over romance drama :/

Love Ivypool but something about Dovewing makes her one of my favourites. Obviously I'm on the same boat of not liking her whole arc being around romance since Dove deserves better but I genuinely did enjoy her romance with Tigerheart for the most part. I thought it was cute an genuine and one of the few cross-clan relationships I enjoyed. None of that's perfect though. Dovewing has her flaws and so does her relationship with Tigerheartstar. Dove is a good mother though, I enjoyed her doting on her kits and the entirety of Tawnypelt's Clan. Not to mention Kate thinks Dovewing "secretly dreams of being a kittypet, relaxing in front of a warm fire and not having to worry about stuff". I know she gets a lot of slander and is usually overlooked for Ivypool. I feel like the worst part of Dovewing is Tigerheartstar though. She'd be a much better and liked character if she had a bit more conviction I personally believe.

I hate both of them. But I prefer Ivypool over Dovewing, so Ivy gets my vote.

Ivypool. Most people know that I don’t like Dovewing , for all the questionable things she’s done . While I’m also not a particularly strong fan of Ivypool either , I do strongly empathize with a lot of her struggles she’s been put through revolving around her character arc, though I fully acknowledge she’s had some pretty non stellar Moments in her life to say the least . I was on the brink of tears for Ivypool at the end of ALITM though , such a horrible , dreadful , heartbreaking , heart-rending lachrymose rollercoaster of emotional anguish for an mother to endure . And too think that Dovewing isn’t once seen showing any kind of sympathy or consolation whatsoever for her, so sad . I don't think you should resent Dovewing for not being there in the last book. That's more of the writing's fault rather than her as a character. Besides, they've likely moved on from each other since AVoS. I don't think they've interacted at all since.

I don’t resent her for solely that moment , but it’s definitely included in the extensive collective archive of things about Dovewing that just rub me the wrong way, and if memory serves me right, the last positive interaction they had was in either TLH or Dovewings Silence, maybe Bramblestars Storm? Aside from the brief reunion when she returned from her spontaneous vacation in River of Fire right before joining shadowclan, so I’d say it’s safe to say they moved on from eachother quite some time before AVoS imo . Edit: oh yeah almost forgot the one moment they I guess got briefly emotional over their kits venturing to the Dark Forest to fight Ashfur, and offered each other a bit of reassurance. believe it was ALiTM but might have been TPoNS.

There is a brief scene in AlitM where Dovewing is said to confront Ivypool a bit while Bristlefrost and Rootspring are still in the DF after Shadowsight comes back. She also stands beside Ivypool against her mate and tries to convince him to change his mind about not rescuing Bristlefrost and Rootspring .
