Feathertail and Stormfur had an argument about their relationship. Imo, I felt this was a pretty mature argument, compared to how all the other siblings handle forbidden love. Feathertail was rude and maybe a little stupid, but to be fair, she had a logical reason to believe why she and Crowpaw would work out.
"Listen, Feathertail, you and Crowpaw-" he murmured.
"What about Crowpaw?" Feathertail's blue eyes flashed and her voice was uncharacteristically sharp. "You and the others are so unfair to him!"
Stormfur wanted to point out that the young cat had asked for trouble the way he argued about everything, but he had enough sense not to say it to Feathertail. "That's not the point," he mewed. "What's going to happen when we get back home? Crowpaw's in a different clan."
"We don't even know there will be clans anymore," Feathertail pointed out. "We'll be leaving the forest, remember?"
Stormfur snorted. "Do you think all the clan boundaries will vanish, just because we have to leave? I doubt it."
He was surprised by the flash of anger in Feathertail's eyes.
"Have you forgotten what Midnight said?" she spat. "The clans won't survive if they can't work together."
"And have you forgotten what happens to cats from different clans get together?" Stormfur added. "Look at the way our own father has been torn between two clans. You and I nearly died because we're half-clan! Tigerstar would have killed us if the ThunderClan cats hadn't rescued us."
"But Tigerstar's gone now," Feathertail mewed stubbornly. "There won't be another cat like that in the forest. And Midnight said all the clans will have to find somewhere else to live. Everything will be different."
"But you and Crowpaw-"
"I'm not going to talk about me and Crowpaw," Feathertail's anger died. "I'm sorry, Stormfur, but this doesn't have anything to do with you."
Stormfur was about to deliver a stinging reply, then he realized that she was right. Awkwardly, he stroked her shoulder with the tip of his tail. "I worry about you, that's all."

Looking back on that scene now with her mother's further more recent characterization from Leopardstar's Honor in mind, I can't help but see certain similarities in both of their behaviours. Silverstream was equally as determined to have her relationship with Graystripe succeed as Feathertail was with Crowpaw. Like mother, like daughter. Too bad both of those cases ended in tragedies.

This scene always bothered me. It bothers me slightly less after reading ASiR, and bothers me slightly less when I consider how GrayxSilver and TigerxDove was handled, but I still dislike this scene overall and feel sorry for Stormfur during this argument.
I disagree with Feathertail’s opinion that the others’ were unfair to Crowpaw, since Crowpaw had been the one to push everyone else away by purposefully starting arguments with the others. While it would’ve been nice if no one reacted to Crowpaw provoking them, I do not blame the others’ for snapping back at Crowpaw/arguing with him after he was hostile and rude on purpose, and basically started those arguments. Especially when he was glad Squirrelpaw got stuck in a fence and said he wished Stormfur and Squirrelpaw would get left behind because Starclan didn’t send them, that was so mean!
I also disagree overall with how Feathertail handled this argument, especially when she told Stormfur it wasn’t his business/wasn’t his concern. I’m thinking of scenarios of if Feather/Crow happened at the Lake territory’s, and all scenarios effect Stormfur.
If Feathertail had Crowpaw’s kits, and a Windclan/RiverClan war were to break out, it would absolutely be Stormfur’s business! Plus he would be the Uncle to those kits... and even if Feather/Crow didn’t have kits, knowing/worrying constantly about Feathertail’s forbidden romance could negatively effect Stormfur’s ability to do his best abilities as a warrior. Not to mention if the Clan discovered Feather/Crow, Feathertail could get kicked out of RiverClan, and Stormfur could get in trouble for covering for her! And even if Feather/Crow broke up, Stormfur could still be distracted and not do as well hunting or patrolling borders due to being occupied on how to comfort Feathertail after the breakup.
I also liked how Stormfur pointed out that they were almost murdered for being Half-Clan, and Silverstream died giving birth to them, her Half-Clan kits! Basically Stormfur was realistically thinking about what would happen if Feathertail had Crowpaw’s kits, and Stormfur knew from his own experiences the consequences that could happen. This struck me as smarter than Feathertail basically saying “consequences be damned!”
But this also shows how alike Feathertail is to Silverstream, which is why I have mixed feelings on Feathertail. I like her overall personality, and loved ASiR, but dislike this scene and FeatherxCrow in general, because reading this scene before ASiR was out felt like Feathertail was disregarding the trauma forbidden love and being Half-Clan caused her and Stormfur.
Silverstream and Feathertail were not willing to confront consequences of forbidden love when they were alive, convinced nothing could go wrong, and were stubborn to the point where I feel they were a little foolish and niave.
In Silverstream’s case IMO, I thought she was bratty and entitled about breathing the Warrior Code, and boasting to Fireheart about being Crookedstar’s daughter, and acting like she was above consequences for breaking the law just because she was the leader’s daughter.
With this argument, I will play devils advocate and say that aside from ASiR, Feathertail had an extremely kind-hearted, gentle personality, so her attitude with Stormfur during this scene (while I dislike it) shows just how stressed out she was, and how much she cared about Crowpaw that she got so angry defending him and their love, when at the end of ASiR, she wasn’t as angry or bitter.
And as part of playing devils advocate, it is a little ironic that Stormfur, while rightfully worried about CrowxFeather, wound up leaving RiverClan, and all of the Clans, for a she-cat. It might not be directly against the Warrior Code to join the tribe, but it might be considered disloyalty in a subtle way- you cannot give up your life for the Clan if you leave the Clan.

I do wonder how she, Stormfur's, and Crowpaw's relationship would have been affected if she'd lived. As Vicky said Feathertail would have probably broken up with him though.
