So tell me, from your perspective, what do you think about Bristlefrost and her character arc?
1. Is she a well developed character? 2. Do you like her love story with Rootspring? 3. Do you think she could have been handled differently, or is her story fine on its own?
This will be from everyone's own opinion. If you don't agree, whether it's canon or not, please be respectful and understand that everyone has different views on Bristlefrost. Thank you.
If you're going to add spoilers from the recent books, remember to add the SPOILERS code so the readers won't see it!

While I don’t think she’s had terrible character development , or that she’s a bad character . more just She’s a victim of either humdrum/repetitive writing and doesn’t contribute much to drive the plot forward during the first half where she’s Actually an integral part of the plot , and the later 2 books it’s mostly her and Rootspring fantasying about the other , and mauling over how They’ll either solve there forbidden affections for eachother , or learn to accept that they’ll never be together . While I guess she did spy for the rebels And helped Squirrelflight remain undercover in shadowclan , and pretended to be loyal to Ashfur so he wouldn’t start getting suspicious and go on a rampage . I don’t really have a bunch to say on bristlefrost , because she’s really not that great too me , and I’m pretty neutral on her . And her being completely oblivious to Bramblestars obvious change in behavior , and being skeptical about the accusations that someone stole his body for plot Purpose/convenience is flimsy prose imo , so that undermines my appreciation for any good character that exists with her . And from the few spoilers I’ve read regarding ALiTM , it would appear any character development , or suspense from stringing us along on another forbidden romance for a whole arc is Gonna be wasted if what I heard Happens to Bristlefrost is true .

1. I think Bristlefrost had great potential in the first book of TBC and her working for/later spying on the impostor/Ashfur in the two following books was a very compelling storyline. However, her romance with Rootspring not only made her thoughts revolve around him a whole lot but it also seemed like her reciprocation of his feelings felt quite forced (not out of nowhere though just off). She proceeded to feel more like a camera or bystanding witness to what went on in ThunderClan than an actual character afterwards. Just reacting to situatons and only participating in certain scenes on a surface level.
2. I think RootBristle had at least some promise of being more mature and healthy in terms of development but still do not enjoy it for how it took away some of Bristlefrost's agency in the overall story.
3. I like Bristlefrost but definitely wish her story was handled much differently. Especially in terms of any romance, her unrequited crush on Stemleaf was completely fine but I would have loved to see it sort of get mirrored in Rootspring having feelings for her but she does not and rejects him instead of confessing her own. Her story could have gone similar to that of her mother Ivypool who had no romantic interest until her job as a spy was successful and she was ready to settle down with someone (except the difference in Bristlefrost's case being that she was in love with someone for a bit but then got rejected).

1. Nope. She's only an interesting character in the first book and then the most recent book. Outside of that? She's kind of a boring camera who faints at conflict. It's a shame because book one Bristlefrost was a character I like. As I've said several times before, that's why I like her death - because it's book 1 Bristlefrost. 2. Nope. Too sudden on Bristle's side. 3. Her story would have been better had they stuck to her original personality over shifting her towards this forbidden romance plot. She had more potential as a slightly impulsive, but brave cat who was highly dedicated to her clan. I also would have made her have more emotion to certain deaths. Her reaction to Stemleaf and Rosepetal's deaths are...disappointing given she's seen being very close to both cats. And then they die and she barely has a reaction.

1. Is she a well developed character?
I can't fully give an answer, but she's alright. I liked how they showed her getting over jealously with the whole SpotStem stuff, and I think she did well as the cat being manipulated by the Impostor. Her then realizing she was wrong to help the right side was good. Though after Darkness Within she does not do much. Rootspring develops much more than her though, making her look weak in comparison and they should have focused on developing Bristlefrost just as much.
2. Do you like her love story with Rootspring?
A bit rushed, but I feel they fully fleshed it out with the books following and I thought it was sweet.
3. Do you think she could have been handled differently, or is her story fine on its own?
I have some critique.
I. Make death scenes for her more impactful I. Should have given her more to do in The Place of No Stars I. Have her focus on rebuilding her clan in The Place of No Stars instead of worrying about Rootspring
