Thank you once again for posting these summaries and a few scenes directly from ALitM, Spinestar! I'm still feeling sad for Rootspring and Bristlefrost despite never liking them as a couple.
R.I.P. Bristlefrost. You deserved way better than this in my opinion.
I really hope Rootspring will be able to grieve and move on eventually in ASC or later.

I just really feel like writing a fanfic for Bristlefrost and Snowtuft beeing in something like the DarkForest only darker scarier and with spirits that try to kills them. They meet there after both of them died, form a team, become close friends and try to find a way to the DarkForest/StarClan.
All this while the living world happens at the same time.
I just need to read/write something that makes me feel better. So, can anyone maybe recommend me a writing software? Or a place to maybe post it (if i want to) i would go for AO3 if not.
Also Thanks to Spinestar for posting the summaries!

Knowing that Rootspring and Bristlefrost would have had three kits had Bristlefrost lived makes this even sadder. A white-and-yellow kit and two gray kits. :c Thanks for posting these summaries, Spinestar.

I'm not sure if that was showing the actual future or just showing Rootspring Bristlefrost's last thoughts, the images seem to be identical to that.

Like some other guy already said, maybe theire soulmates. She thought about having three kits while dying and some other things and Rootspring thought about the same things while trying to summon her spirit
Also Bris would have in my imagination, if her spirit would live, a scar at her throat, a sliced ear and a scar at her cheek. I must remember this thought. She would look awesome!

I'm personally curious if Shadowsight not being able to talk to StarClan means he'll be able to speak with the Dark Forest later on instead?
Also why the heck does reordering the code change anything??? The rules aren't even being changed here, just switched around a bit-

he won’t be able to sorry. When Ashfur died he took Shadowsight’s ability to see into the shadows with him. He can’t ever see into the shadows again. He’s another Mothwing

Something I've been wondering is if Shadowsight can no longer "see into the shadows" because Ashfur died and he clearly had clairvoyance since apparantly before he was even born as TS implied, then does this mean Ashfur had been targeting Shadowsight way back then as well, or is it that they were so connected in LS and DW that Ashfur's death severing it was somewhat of an unintentional consequence of it? The former would certainly make him more creepy than he already was.
Either way, it's a shame Shadowsight won't be able to share with StarClan anymore, but this makes me wonder about... basically any other medicine cat who didn't have powers.

I despise this ending so much while i am pissed that BristleRoot/the current illegal couple is gone, i still really like how they chose to permakill of the main character and end the arc on a very tragic note. Makes this series healthier and fresh and new.

can someone tell me if we ever meet spotfur's kits please? and their names? Well, no. But shes heavily pregnant at the end of the book. Meaning ASC#1 Depends on the time skip though. To the last chapter was a half a moon time skip. Either it continious from there on in ASC or it's after the three months Star Clan asked them to discuss about the code.

Okay. Thoughts. I found this book to be a major disappointment, and here's why:
Namely, how did Ashfur come by his power? Unless I missed something major, this is a critical plot hole. It's mentioned that he was chosen by StarClan to take a message to the living or something. And that he "dug" a tunnel from StarClan to the Dark Forest (??? r u kidding me?). But we are never given explanation as to (1) how he could control spirits, (2) how he figured out how to jump Bramblestar's body, (3) why he and Shadowsight had a special connection. Or how Firestar suddenly knew how to possess Rootspring.
Bramblestar and Squirrelflight are not only still alive at the end of this arc, but are still mates, and still leader/deputy.
I've been waiting for Graystripe to kick the bucket for so long that his death wasn't even sad to me, just an anticlimatic "finally!". And I like Graystripe! But he and all the other OGs way overstayed their welcome, because the Erin team doesn't like killing fan favorites.
On that note, there were only two deaths in this book: Graystripe and Bristlefrost. The latter's death scene in particular was shockingly good, but talk about low stakes? More cats died in the Twilight badger attack! And the battle scenes were laughably bad. Apparently StarClan warriors just decided to leave five seconds after the battle is "over" ... apparently newbie warriors like Rootspring and Bristlefrost can just body two Dark Forest warriors at a time...a total of ten good guys (give or take a few) managed to defeat ashfur + every spirit he trapped + most of the dark forest... its just laughably bad.
im sick of old characters being brought back out of sentiment. darktail shows up for two minutes only to be killed immediately (and alters canon lore). firestar saves the day again. needletail gets to meet her psuedo-sister's kit because reasons and of course graystripe sees his family. oh look! mapleshade and darkstripe again! the only old character i would actually be interested to see is Hollyleaf, but for some reason she didn't show up the whole dang arc?? erins. can we have a chat.
the laws of the spirit world are also just getting ridiculous but that's a separate rant. the erins should have never expanded upon it past dark forest/starclan existing, because every time they peel off a layer of its mystery, the more cartoonish the series feels.
the arc is also called "the broken code" but like. the code isn't even addressed until the very, very end of the last book, and all they do is go "yup. that code right there causes trouble sometimes." and the only specific new rule they propose isn't even new -- cats changing clans for their mate was already deemed a somewhat acceptable solution multiple times (graystripe, windflight's parents, dovewing).
also mad that they made maggottail so unthreatening even though in OOTS he was said to have been the oldest spirit in the DF
bristlefrost's death was well written and it was kinda cool to see the backstories for characters like Silverhawk and Snowtuft, but other than that, this book was just a steaming pile of mediocrity and disappointment.

FIRESTAR AND ONESTAR CONTENT! Their past friendship was imo the 2nd greatest friendship ever and was my favorite. Onestar doing a 180 is imo the worst thing that has ever happened in this series and has made me miserable. It is my dream to see them as friends again, please, please show them as amiable friends in StarClan If you want/have time, could you maybe post the pages of them trying to use the tree as a bridge (where Bris climbs to the top to drop it) (Was in chapter 15 i think) Sorry for repost, forgot to tag/Quote BTW. deleted the original one
