Is it ever mentioned what prey smells like?
im listening to Crookedstar's book...and Crookedkit smelled mouse and said the elder had told him what mouse smelled like...
Does anyone have a description of what each prey would smell like?

Small rodents probably smell like typical meat flavor, if I'm guessing. We never get a good description of prey's core smell from the books because they're cats, they would just know what certain smells are as they experience them, the same way humans do. Try describing the smell of chocolate or chicken or anything else and you'll find it's near impossible to do so without referencing other smells. That's just how sensory memory works.
We do however get some indication of different "flavors" of prey based on where it's caught. The cats in the books describe fish smell as watery, frogs and lizards as muddy, mice as sweet, and rabbits as grassy or herb-y. I'm guessing this is like a layer of scent on top of the meat-smell of the animal itself (kind of like how chicken smells like chicken, but can also have a scent of rosemary or garlic or something else depending on how it's prepared).
