What do you think of the way strictness on who is and isn't allowed to visit the Moonstone/Moonpool has been handled throughout the series?
What would be your ideal level of strictness for this? Do you think it should be okay for any clan warrior to pay a visit, or do you think that it should be firmly reserved for leaders and medicine cats only? Or something in between?
Just curious, because I remember how Graystripe in GV was adamant about the Moonstone being for leaders and medicine cats only and was worried that his own mere presence there would offend StarClan and how many cats in Lost Stars thought warriors shouldn't be at the Moonpool, and I was skimming through Into the Wild today and was reminded of the "taking apprentices to the Moonstone" tradition and how Bluestar was totally fine with bringing Tigerclaw and Firepaw with her into the cavern while she consulted with StarClan lol

I think the leader and medicine cat rule is good, since warriors don’t really have a reason to go anyway
Wasn’t the apprentice thing dropped because the distance between camps and the moonpool was too far away? I wish it could of stayed it was pretty interesting

Canonically speaking, the Moonstone was free for any cat to seek advice provided they got permission from their leader. However, StarClan was also not easily accessible-- dreams would be vague at best, and talking to an actual StarClan cat was pretty much unheard of. By contrast, the Moonpool is much more exclusive from the beginning; warriors were actively discouraged from visiting and Leaders are only seen there when receiving their nine lives. We also see that the Moonpool provides easier access to StarClan-- any cat who visits is basically guaranteed an audience with at least one StarClan cat.
Personally, I don't think the correlation between those two factors was intentional on the authors' part, but I'm headcanoning that the Moonpool provides a much stronger connection to StarClan, so visiting it is seen as foreign or disrespectful for the average warrior-- that's medicine cat territory.

On one hand (or rather paw), I personally think it would be fine for warriors, queens, apprentices and deputies to visit the Moonpool in order to get advice from StarClan if they really need it. But on the other hand/paw, when the Clans still lived in the forest territories and had the Moonstone, StarClan and that location seemed very exclusive as well for leaders and medicine cats. Only apprentices were also allowed there when they went on the journey in order to have the experience of being close to their ancestors and I would love for this to get implemented again but to travel towards the Moonpool instead. To me, it just seems like now such a quest would not be as dangerous considering there are no thunderpaths and twoleg places with vicious dogs near it as was previously on the way to the Moonstone.
