Pretend this actually happens. If Tigerstar actually did end up picking Dovewing as deputy, do you think she'd be able to handle the pressure as one, or would it be too much for her to care for her to be responsible for her clan and kits at the same time?

i can't see her having an apprentice, let alone becoming deputy...she's just not the type. she'd be an awful deputy and not be able to give strong, confident commands and orders

The whole point of Dovewing is that she wants to be a normal warrior, so no, I don't think she could handle the deputy position.

Dovewing just isn't the type to become deputy and she also wouldn't want to.

Dovewing has proven she doesn't do well under pressure. So no, she wouldn't. Besides she doesn't really deserve to be deputy after betraying her birth Clan imho.

No, she has like no ambition to be a deputy or even leader. I think she's happy being a normal warrior without too many responsibilities.

Dovewing is too soft to be in a leadership role. Which I mean in a neutral way — the same way Ferncloud or Poppyfrost are. She just wants to take things easy and be nice to others.

Could say the same about Tigerstar tbh, if anything his actions were worse than hers yet he got to be leader because of author favoritism.

He has manipulated Dovewing and took advantage of her trust, wouldn't let her move on, and wasn't there for her when she needed him in Tigerheart's Shadow.. Dovewing may have manipulated her mate, but she at least had the dignity to apologize to Tigerheart, and he later on tried to force her to choose between her clan and her kits. Dovewing left out of fear and safety for her kits, but Tigerheart left his clan because he didn't want to deal with the responsibilities. He's truly the selfish one who doesn't deserve leadership or the deputy position, not Dovewing. She at least learned to apologize for her mistakes and told her clan she truly believed she did the right thing for everyone.

Now if only she didn’t crap talk them and insult Thunderclan behind their backs lmao. So her apology was shallow in the end. Needless to say, neither Dove nor Tiger deserve leadership of any kind after their stunts in my opinion. Both of their reasons for leaving were pretty bad and pretty immature, and both of them clearly put themselves before their clans. Which…is awful for a deputy or leader position.

I know some people have a problem with it, but since it's my topic, I don't mind and it doesn't bother me. It would be weird if someone mentioned Cinderpelt or someone completely unrelated to Dovewing, then I'd have a problem, but yea.

Nah, Dovewing's entire background and personality are completely unsuitable for the deputy position.

No. Just like Tigerstar II she will take care about her family, but not about her clan. Also too many nepotism, she isn’t one of fighter or hunter and doesn’t communicate well with other Shadow cats. So they will be justifiably indignant about cat taking deputy position only for belonging to leaders family and removing Cloverfoot who is very good deputy and the voice of her clan.

I think she would try her absolute best, but ultimately not be very well-suited or adept at the position. This is coming from someone who really likes Dovewing, too - she's just never had the desire for leadership. Dovewing does tend to put the needs of others before her own, though, so I can picture her burning herself out by trying to meet the expectations of her Clanmates.
I respect the opinions of others in this thread, but I personally disagree that Dovewing 'doesn't deserve' to be deputy because of her half-Clan relationship and switching of allegiances. In the current arc alone we have Squirrelflight and Crowfeather as deputies, both of whom broke the Code in the past. Tawnypelt also abandoned her birth Clan in favour of ShadowClan, and she was a deputy as well. I do think Dovewing wouldn't be a good deputy, but it's entirely because her personality isn't a good fit for the role imo.
