Dovewing's done some pretty unforgivable things. She lied to her clan behind their backs, meeting with a ShadowClan cat called Tigerheart. She stopped seeing him after the Great Battle, trying to move on from him by becoming mates with Bumblestripe, but then returned to him in AVoS. Dovewing got pregnant, and ran away because she was scared of facing her Clanmates' anger about her disloyalty, leaving her family and clan thinking she had died. When Dovewing returned, she left her clan, choosing her mate and kits over her family and clan.
Do you think her actions are understandable, or are they pretty unforgivable? Should she have handled things in a better way that didn't involve so much pain?

I think she could of handled her situation differently, I understand why she left her clan, she even states herself that she couldn’t deprive her kits of their father, but at the same time she could of saved a whole lot of worrying by telling somebody where she was headed
Poor Bumblestripe, I wonder if he’ll get a mate in the future

dovewing hasn’t done anything unforgivable honestly, and I think she’s honestly one of the most well written characters as of late. oots is a pretty boring arc that doesn’t know how to actually get it’s characters involved in it’s own plot, so dovewing doesn’t do much there, but her inner turmoil is very interesting. she’s only been recently made an apprentice when she learns she’s apart of the prophecy, and because of that her entire youth is dominated by the prophecy. she never gets the chance to figure out who she is beyond her powers and role in the prophecy, and a core theme of dovewing’s silence is dovewing struggling with that. almost all of dovewing’s relationships in oots are based on the prophecy, and now that that doesn’t exist it leaves dovewing in this weird spot. jayfeather and lionblaze aren’t really friends with her, they just worked with her because of the prophecy. the prophecy ruined dovewing’s relationship with her sister, so that’s out the window as well. and, as she starts to feel more alone in thunderclan, as almost everyone there sees her less as ‘dovewing’ and as the third prophecy cat, dovewing ends up finding a new start in shadowclan. dovewing left a really unhealthy environment for her, something that was only making her feel alone and misunderstood, and ended up finding some place new. dovewing in tbc doesn’t get much screentime, but her relationship with tigerheartstar seems to be healthy, and she has three kids she loves very much. in shadowclan, there are people that dovewing cares about and dovewing cares for them.
her actions aren’t perfect, but they are definitely understandable and I’m very glad they happened because the idea of dovewing finding a place where she belongs without the constant reminder of the prophecy and the various ways it hurt her is just. I really like it
so yeah, bit of a ramble here but I really love dovewing and am happy to see the erins do something actually interesting and satisfying with a former pov

I understand and I'm not mad at her for wanting to be happy. But it still would have been much better if she and Tigerheart had handled their relationship way more responsibly. Dovewing deserved a happy ending which didn't need to involve all this drama.

I've always felt she had a great personality with balanced flaws and good traits, it's just her romance that was pretty crappy and could've been written a lot better imo. But I feel like people are too harsh on Dovewing for a lot of things when many other characters have done worse actions imo. The ONLY thing I feel she's done truly wrong was manipulating Tigerheart to choose between him and her clan, but I guess I understand because he was never there for her for anything...? Idk. But either way, she's fine and I think she gets too much hate. I don't love her as much as I used to, but she's honestly fine.

Pretty much what the poll says. I understand and can sympathize with Dovewing but I wish that she'd handled things better.
