Nightheart here. I catch up with my patrol, all winded, panting, at Treecut Place. "what happened back there? Why did you run?" I ask.
Sneezepelt answers me. "We are still worn out from the last encounter. If we fight them now, in our condition, we could be hurt or killed. Dead cats don't catch prey. We cross here, off their territory, and we can hunt there."
"Doesn't Leafclan claim that?"
"What they don't know can't hurt us, right?"
"Right. Let's go. Sneezepelt, I may make a warrior out of you yet."

A gray-brown tom with bright green eyes watches from the bushes as Darkclan crosses the small thunderpath. He is Volestep of Leafclan, and intruders have entered his clan's territory. Time to warn the clan.

Scarstar here. Time to set out another patrol. I have a feeling. I called Thorntail over, she nods and sets out to get clan members to join her. She will get just 2 more cats to join her, us thinking a small patrol will be able to check out the territory quietly and quickly, without being seen.

Charlie here, hunting with Earthpaw and Dapplefur. We've had good luck so far. I see the vole, and I crouch, the others freezing in place. No! A hawk swoops in to snatch the vole. nothing we can do, as the hawk is gone as soon as he gets it.

I wait, ready to fight if needed. She glares and then hisses, not attacking. I leave, not turning my back on her as I do. I was right; she is a coward when challenged, able only to go after the weak, old, injured, or young.
