the dark forest creating false prophecies. mapleshade almost did something kinda similar with crookedstar, but im not sure that counts.
clearly, dark forest cats are capable of visiting dreams or getting cats to come to their realm while they are sleeping, so why not...? give a naive cat a dream and a fake prophecy. manipulate them into destroying the clans, claiming its in the name of starclan. something.
do u think this kind of plot would be a rehash of anything done before in the series or would it be cool and new (depending on how its written) ??

Well, there was also Ivypaw, so I guess she could count?
Sometimes I like to think this had been the case with Ravenwing because they knew what both Oakstar and Mapleshade were capable of. Same with Pinestar leaving, especially since Doestar already told him to take care of Tigerkit before StarClan apparently told Pinestar to kill him.

As 𝓣𝓲𝓷𝓾𝓿𝓲𝓮𝓵 has already pointed out, Ivypaw got manipulated by the Dark Forest (more specifically Tigerstar and Hawkfrost). They convinced her of lying to Firestar about having a dream that involved the land he gave away to ShadowClan and telling him to reclaim it. He lost a life in this battle and Russetfur got killed which resulted in Lionblaze getting some backlash from them. So I would say the DFs plan to disrupt Clan truce worked in this instance. Seeing as Ivypool and other former trainees are still alive and probably told their Clan by now about those specific tactics I'm sure none of those evil spirits would dare try it again too soon. Perhaps in a few generations if there's even a Place of No Stars left for them to dwell in.

If the Dark Forest is shoved into any future arcs I sure hope that'll at least happen.

I suspect they already have. Tallstar's dream in Starlight reeks of DF involvement, Tigerstar's in particular.
First and foremost, why on earth would StarClan do this? There have been many bad leaders over the years. If they always had the ability to stop them by just sending a dream to their leader while they are deputies, why didn't they? It might not have worked in some cases, namely Brokenstar and Tigerstar, but it would have in others. And if worse comes to worse and the bad deputy becomes leader, they could always refuse giving them nine lives.
And why do this with Mudclaw of all characters? We can only guess how he would have been as a leader, but there was no reason to think he would be anywhere near Tigerstar/Brokenstar level of bad. He probably would have been like Blackstar, being more on the aggressive side but never taking things too far and calming down once he got used to leadership. Mudclaw did have a hair trigger temper. Yes that is bad, but again, he was not the first. So why was he the first deputy StarClan tried to block from leadership? Simple- they didn't. The Dark Forest did. Everyone knew that Mudclaw had a very short temper. Ripping his deputyship from him would absolutely elicit some reaction from him, though I don't think anyone could have predicted he would lead a literal rebellion. The Dark Forest used Mudclaw to create chaos in the Clans during a very vulnerable time.
This is where Tigerstar comes in. He either egged on Hawkfrost or gave him the idea to team up with Mudclaw. Hawkfrost was very publicly butthurt over losing his deputyship when Mistyfoot returned home. Supporting Mudclaw with the promise of becoming his deputy was a no brainer for him, but this couldn't have happened with the dream.
I acknowledge that screwing over Mudclaw could have been done simply for the sake of causing trouble in the Clans and not as the start of a grand plan to get Hawkfrost back into power, but it is still on the table. Not to mention that Tigerstar is known for playing the long game. He tried to kill Bluestar how many times? 3 0r 4? He took the time and effort to rebuild ShadowClan in order to use them for his plan. He recruited rogues to help him on multiple occasions, who he vocally hated. If anyone could come up with such an elaborate plan, it's Tigerstar.

I love these theories!! Especially about Pinestar, because I really enjoyed his novella but I cannot imagine StarClan would actually want him to murder his own baby son. It's quite possible Tigerkit could have turned out much better if Pinestar had been there to guide him, maybe even mentor him. So it makes a lot of sense for the Dark Forest to play with the fears and doubts about Clan life he already had in order to get him out of the picture.
I'm definitely going to be looking at questionable omens with this in mind as I reread the series.

Although it's not the same thing, Ashfur deceived Shadowsight from StarClan, but he wasn't a Dark Forest cat.
