Her eyes looked into his. This would change everything.. and she wasn't sure whether that was something she wanted to do. But she knew she couldn't keep this from him. She trusted her mate with her life. This wasn't something she could do alone. Foxtail followed along unsure of what Ravenheart had to say that would draw them away from the clan. Once they reached the clearing, he sits down in front of Ravenheart and gives her a reassuring smile. Perhaps, she just needed to vent about Hawkstar without cats listening in. |

Ravenheart shuffled uneasily on her paws, trying to get more comfortable. She returned her mate's smile but it faded quickly. "You remember how I've been feeling off lately?" The black she-cat started, studying Foxfall's expression for clues. Her tail wrapped tightly around her paws and she glanced past the ginger tom to search for the right words. "We have a big problem." She meowed after a moment and returned her gaze to him. Worry laced her voice, with a hint of frustration. This was supposed to be a joyous moment for them, something to share with happiness. But instead it was unnecessarily stressful. All because of Hawkstar's pointless rule. "I think you'll be a father soon."

Foxfall looks at Ravenheart confused for a moment until things clicked. He widens his eyes in surprise feeling a mix of surprise, happiness and fear. "Ravenheart." He mutters softly unsure of what to say. "If it wasn't for Hawkstar's rule I'd be jumping for joy."

"I know, me too." Ravenheart let out a sigh of relief, glad that she had the chance to share this with Foxfall. Even if it made things complicated for them. She pressed her muzzle to his shoulder, feeling comforted by his smell. "Do you think we'll be okay? What should we do?"

"Well, I don't know." Foxfall confessed. He didn't want to think about what Hawkstar would do. "We will have to be careful. Maybe if we are lucky, Hawkstar will lift the ban and make life easy for all of us!"

Ravenheart nodded softly, she doubted that Hawkstar would lift the ban but at this time all they could do was hope for the best. "We can't tell anyone." She paused, going over which cats she could trust in her head. Surely Wrenwillow would help.. They were good friends after all. But that was something to think about later. "It won't be long before I really start showing signs.." For now she'd try her best to keep it hidden. She wanted nothing more than to just stay in her clan with her mate. Though it had become clear Cinderclan wasn't as safe as it used to be since Hawkstar's strict reign.

Foxfall slowly nods his head as the reality of the situation really starts to set in. "I hate the idea but when the time comes you will have to take shelter away from the clan. Perhaps, over by the barn." Although, his clanmates would take notice of her absence. He would have to come up with something.

"I guess you're right." Ravenheart sighed. "I really don't want to leave you though." She pressed her side comfortingly to his soft ginger fur. After sitting in silence for a moment she heaved herself up with another sigh and gave her pelt a shake. Thinking about all this made her depressed, so she'd push it aside for now. There was nothing they could change about it anyway. "I suppose we have to return to camp or should we take some prey back with us?"

Foxfall stood there as Ravenheart pressed against him. He inhales her scent and lets out a soft sigh. They would figure something out and everything will be okay. Once she pulled away, he rises to his paws. "Let's head back to camp."

Ravenheart nodded, giving her limbs a small stretch before she turned to walk back the way they came from. She kept a steady pace next to her mate and when they neared camp she made an effort to look unbothered, as if nothing was troubling them.

Foxfall kept a steady pace beside her. As they walked, he brushes his shoulder against her in a playful manner. Soon as they reached camp, he could see Hawkstar rising to his paws. "Seems we got back just in time." He remarked.
Hawkstar heads to the ledge and yowls for the clan to gather. There were some ceremonies he needed to get out of the way.
