I finally finished Leopardstar's Hope and while, for the most part, it ended on a note where we knew where the story was going and we already knew the events that would take place, though some of the events were indeed insightful to Leopardstar's character and explains some things in later books, such as something she says to Mistyfoot, which were some of her final words. The thing about how she once thought she'd have kits or something but it was never meant to be.
Speaking of Mistyfoot, this book is no doubt foreshadowing the events of the next upcoming series, A Starless Clan. The last panel of the graphic novel at the end of the book heavily hints at this, and we all know the Erins have been tying their graphic novels into the main series a lot lately so it doesn't surprise me that this one is giving us clues to the next series even though it takes place long ago in the old forest. Mistystar is very, very old now, and I wonder if this has something to do with it? Maybe the Erins caught onto us memeing about her age and will explain it away somehow, lol. She is also the cat on the cover, which is called River and has a RiverClan protagonist.
The amount of foreshadowing is subtle yet not at the same time. I mean, heck, Mistyfoot barely really had recognition till the end of the book when all of a sudden she became important for the last, like, five pages and the graphic novel. The sudden shift toward her is a huge clue.
I'm trying to wonder what Mistystar could possibly do to save her Clan right now. Or, as it seems to imply, all the Clans. I feel like it may involve her having to play a part in changing the warrior code. Maybe each Clan leader will have a role in changing one code or something? I dunno...but she's played off as super important in the eyes of Leopardstar suddenly, lol.
