Physical Description: Ekaitza stands at 6'0 with a notably combat-ready build; broad-shouldered and lithely muscled with a narrow waist and few scars to display. He is often clad in rich flowing fabrics and the bare minimum of armor, however, so the full extent of his musculature is often reduced to 'tasteful' openings in his clothing. In the spirit of arrogant impracticality, he often has his unmarred chest on display. It serves as an invitation for both coquetry and combat, or so he claims. Kai's features are timeless and youthful; angular and expressive with a strong jaw and full mouth that is rarely found without a smile of some kind. His oblique eyes are maroon but brightened with a mischievous twinkle, particularly evident in his right eye where the pupil is near-permanently slitted. He has short, prominent brows and his pale skin is marked with crimson starburst-shapes, three under each eye. Ekaitza's hair is silken and raven-hued, reflecting blue-green-violet under certain lighting. It is styled neatly, with short locks framing his face and bangs that remain clear of his gaze. His hair has been reluctantly cut shorter than its former length and now brushes his elbows when not pinned to the back of his head in a wedge-shaped bun.
Kai is one of the lengthier dragons, a strange blend of the 'eastern' and 'western' races with long clawed limbs, golden whiskers, and a tri-bladed tail. Lining his back are lightning-attracting spines that can be made to lie flat. His head bears a number of jagged horns at differing lengths, extending both from his jaws and the tops and sides of his skull. His scales are similar in shade to his human hair, although they are more gem-like and multifaceted. The underside of his body is covered in less geometrically shaped scales of dusky hues; violet, burnt orange, magenta, and amber.
When shifting partially, he favors his tail and wings. Regardless, Ekaitza is always crowned with four magenta interconnected horns. They're shaped similarly to a trident with the two shortest at the center.

Personality / History Description: Ekaitza is cheerfully irreverent despite his role, often dropping titles- and the respect that should accompany them- in the spirit of good fun. A hedonist, his life is long-lived and hard-fought and so he sees himself as deserving of a little leeway where he sees fit. While playful, Kai is also regal and even-tempered; arrogance has made him imperturbable and it would take quite a lot to ruin his mood or upset him in any way. His nature is capricious, however, and he delights in being unpredictable. Ekaitza is generally sociable, he enjoys meeting new people and learning what makes them tick. He is fond of both friend and foe alike. All of this amounts to him being subtly distant, however. Ever-smiling, amiable towards all, yet content to remain on the outside looking in. A life of wandering has made him a habitual bystander and Kai never seems to build relationships that he intends to last. Whenever someone is in danger of getting too close, he may reveal just how callous, ambitious, and pragmatic he truly is.
Ekaitza's past is a colorful one, and he can occasionally be coaxed into recounting his more memorable experiences. The basics of it are as such: He has a family history of Dragonguards that date back to when Killian first warred against the Shifters. Once the violence between the sides died down, he chose to shirk his duties in favor of traveling the world. His cousin held the partly honorary title of Dragonguard until recently, when her sudden death saw him called to take her place as the most powerful Shifter in his family. Though his spirited nature causes him to chafe at the thought of being confined to a preordained role, Kai is somewhat optimistic about the level of 'thrill' this iteration will provide.
He hates the thought of 'destiny' and is the black sheep of his traditional family for a number of reasons- including his close friendships with vampires and abject dismissal of the notion of a 'fated mate', finding it unnecessary and stifling. His parents are mates, but he stubbornly hopes that he will never find his.
'Ekaitza Sevard' is Kai's latest name. He changes it often.

Physical Description: Salome is...not exactly what one might picture when presented with the words 'mercenary commander'. In fact, many who know him only by name often mistake him for a lower rank upon meeting. While his height places him on the cusp of 6' Salome manages to negate it with the sheer force of his inherent modesty. His build is equally unassuming- slender shoulders, sinewy muscles always hidden by modest clothing, an artisan's graceful hands, and tanned skin with many beauty marks & few visible scars. His face is open and expressive, heart-shaped and youthful with almond-shaped seafoam-green eyes and thick lashes. Though not readily apparent, Salome's features are rather feline, particularly evident in his rare smug smiles. His hair is bronze with sun-streaked highlights- a generally uneven mess that he fails to tame and struggles to cut correctly. It falls longer on the left than the right. He's occasionally teased for his inability to grow a beard.
As a Siren, Salome has the strong, yellowish tail of a Lemon Shark complete with double dorsal fins. In this form he also has razor-sharp teeth and silvery eyes.

Personality / History Description: Salome's presence is usually a calming one, as he takes care not to display negative emotions and strives to lead with warmth and optimism rather than distance generated by forced respect. As a selfless workaholic, he tends to take on the most difficult and trying tasks for himself, as well as hiding any and all of his own weaknesses and insecurities so as to remain a 'strong' and reliable presence for those in his care. Which kind of translates to everyone he comes in contact with. Salome is a bleeding heart with a complex that often results in his treating everyone like family- He has memorized the names and random facts of every member of his crew no matter how reticent or small their role. Salome can be more like a particularly attentive teacher than a captain, and is still subjected to the occasional vocal or muttered skepticism regarding his legitimacy. Until he's met in combat, of course.
He doesn't tend to reveal much of his past, but he will say that his childhood was 'trying' if pressed. There are still a few people who can attest to how merciless and bloodthirsty he was as a young mercenary before some outside influence made him into the pacifist that he is today. In fact, killing the ranked officers of what has now become his mercenary group is said to be his last act of violence. Salome is now the commander of a fleet of mercenary ships belonging to the Parhelion Company. He is professionally known as 'Captain Hel' and can often be found on his flagship The Jade Dirge. Salome should be immensely successful due to his reputation as the most trustworthy mercenary on the market, however his unwillingness to engage in 'dirtier' work and tendency to wave away payment if clients are unable to provide occasionally puts him in financial jeopardy. The majority of his income is supplied by big businesses and even the ruling parties of various countries as his fleet can generally travel unmolested by pirates or rivals.
