I think it would be fun to have a RP with like mythical creatures/people that's kind of like a mix of Hogwarts, Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children(I've never read it don't kill me!) and some other things.
So basically the mythical world(set kind of in the real world) is continually in danger from humans and after many of people had been wiped out over the course of well... civilization. So with all the crazy things that had been going on in the previous several hundred years the mythical community has been forced to go into hiding and/or living among the humans pretending to be one of them. But they are still at risk because of the humans.
So the main part of the roleplay would be a safe place children of mythical people to go for schooling and learning about/how to control the magic or assorted things that come with what they are. (This can be pretty much anything from witches and faries to mermaids and sirens) And many of the children are orphans who normally stay there year round. Plus there would be like a few random villages that would be visited from time to time.
Would anyone be interested in this and willing to help make it?
If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I've been wanting to do a mermaid RP. I could help make a mer school if you'd like, or something else if you'd rather Well I wanted it to be just one big school that looked like a castle. And the Merfolk as well as like Sirens and Selkies, etc. Would be in a human form most of the time unless a lot of people make merpeople.

Well I think it would be good if we start with a nap, more in depth background and then a suggestion list of creatures then form around that. My only problem with the magic part is that not all the creatures would have magic, like Werewolves for example. idk.
Sorry if I'm not terribly helpful x.o I'm more of a jump-in person.

That's okay I think I'll make a list of creatures, let me know if you want it edited/changed Magical creatures: Faeries- human-like creatures with very strong magic. They have beautiful wings, like those of a butterfly, or a dragonfly. Mer- human-like creatures whose bottom half is a scaled-tail. They're fins come in all colors, patterns, and shapes. Their magic is extremely powerful. So much, that they can transform into humans. Adult females are called Mermaids, while adult males are called Mermen. Children are called Merls and Merboys. Witches and Wizards: Humans. They have to use wands in order to wield magic. Elves: slightly shorter than humans with pointy ears. There are three races, Altmer, Bosmer, and Dunmer. More commonly known as High Elves, Wood Elves, and Dark Elves. High Elves are the royals and nobles of the land. Their magic is strong. Wood Elves are the woodland dwellers. They have the ability to speak with animals, and get them to do their bidding. Wood Elves nature magic is very strong. Dark Elves excel in Dark Magic. They often are seen as untrustworthy and evil because of this. Their spells usually torture/harm others. Their magic is very powerful. (More to add) (I added a little Elder Scrolls in there )

I think that the Faeries would probably all have magic to do with different elements if that makes sense.
Then the witches and wizards be humans with magic in their blood? Like they aren't entirely human and use more of unnatural/darker magic.
And the elves have more plant/nature based magic like the wood elves, and just be one kind to make it simpler and the higher ups o the magical worlds we be all sorts of different creatures.
Sorry if I seem really picky x.x Maybe we should just list creatures then go through and add what they do later?
What is Elder Scrolls if you don't mind me asking?
Also I'm thinking with where the school is at there is strong magic around the place so it is not on any map, regular humans can't get in and it can sustain all kinds of life there. Like some big, lush valley that doesn't exist.

Okay! The Elder Scrolls is a series of games that take place in medieval times. The races of elves I put in the list are from those games.

There could be a secret school that teaches Dark and Blood magic

Or just a bunch of people that get together and teach/learn it because it is against the magic people laws to do magic like that?

It is against the law, but they keep it hidden. Its an abandoned mansion that is believed to be haunted by evil spirits, so no one goes near it...

Thanks!
Vampires- neither dead or alive, these creatures were once humans that have been inflicted with a fatal disease. The disease was made by Gabby- goddess of darkness, immortality, blood, and the night. Her followers were very loyal, and often made blood sacrifices. To reward their loyalty, Gabby gave them the gift of immortality, a gift that would come at a high price. Her followers would only be able to come out at night, in her darkness, her time of day. And in order to keep them immortal, they'd have to drink the blood of humans and animals. Her followers soon found that they had a bloodlust, they craved blood. At first they tried animal blood, but it made them weaker. Only human blood could suffice their thirst. They could also not have children, or eat mortal foods. Gabby taught them how to hunt their prey, how to drink from them, when to stop, to lick the wounds they caused so that they would heal and evidence of their existence would remain a secret. One night, they got caught and were almost hunted to extinction. One vampire remained. Her name was Crystal. Gabby instructed her on how to make more vampires, only those that were seen worthy could become a vampire. Now Gabby is worshipped by many vampires, blood magic mages, and dark magic mages.
In order to become a vampire, you must first make a blood offering to Gabby at her shrine. Then, you must ask a vampire to bite you and drink some of your blood, then the vampire will cut his/her wrist with a fang and you must drink his/her blood. Finally, you must rest and when you awake, you will be a vampire, weak in power at first. After a decade, your powers shall be stronger, and grow over decades.

That is a lot o.o' Maybe not the whole immortality part? Just live a really, really long time. And also if a person could just be made a Vampire by getting bitten.

Oh... I should know this, sorry.
But people can still be forced into becoming vampires?
|
|
|
Post by Stormheart on Aug 31, 2016 18:27:55 GMT -5
(That's okay! ) Yes, they can be forced by a vampire that offers a chance for them to become one, or die.

That works then, because it is hard to have kid vampires otherwise.
I'm still trying to make this mostly school centered.
