Bright Guardian Akira did a really excellent vid on Jay and Holly's early apprenticeships Just one week ago, and I realized that in that part of The Sight I have A LOT of thoughts on. And honestly it's the first real thought I've seen anyone into it-even the authors forget about it-Brightheart is promised an apprentice and never gets one! And that's just the tip of the iceberg-it's just a really good video and I have no problem with Jayfeather being a medicine cat, the development felt poorly written. Jaypaw was never seen getting any real warrior training and then it throws a flustered, completely untrained Jaypaw at an obnoxious ShadowClan apprentice- I mean, with Hollypaw she was actually SHOWN getting to try being a medicine cat, and getting some introspection. Jaypaw is forced there after a humiliating fight that he would not have been ready for, sighted or not, and then boom, Jaypaw's a medicine cat. I have no problem with Jayfeather being a medicine cat, but rather how it was handled.
