Doekit and Fawnkit ate hungrily at the mouse that the warrior had given them to eat. When they were finished Fawnkit looked around for someone to play with. She looked at her sister and knew she wouldn't play. She saw a warrior come into camp and put prey in the pile. She trotted up to the warrior to introduce herself. "Hello. I'm Fawnkit." RedenDarkriver looked around camp wondering what to do now. She had made sure the kits without a mother were fed and she had been hunting that day. Maybe she would sit and ponder about the prophecy. Her 50 moons should be of help in knowing what it meant.

Swiftbreeze continued to glance around the camp, but when movement caught his eye, he watched as the dawn coloured kit trotted over to him, his ear twitching in amusement. Rarely did he go over to see the nursery, but when he did, kits often wanted to ask questions about being a warrior. It always made him proud that he was able to be such a positive role model for future warriors. He gave her a flick of his massive fluffy tail in greeting. “Hello Fawnkit.” He purred, shifting to tuck his paws under his chest. “I’m Swiftbreeze.” He added. Then the large cat tilted his head in curiosity, wondering what the kit wanted.

Fawnkit smiled as the warrior greeted her. She was 5 moons old and fiesty. "Do you want to play?" She asked curiously. "If not I can find someone else."

Swiftbreeze gave the kit a softened glance, and quickly finished him meal. Slowly he sat up, now towering above the she-cat in front of him. He briskly cleaned his face with his paw before nodding. “I would be happy to.” He purred, deciding to humour the kit. He believed that she would be an apprentice soon, so she may not get the chance to fool around very often when that time comes. “What would you like to play?” He asked, his tail now wrapped snugly around his paws.

"Um I'm not sure what clan cats play. Doekit and I were given to the clan only a few days ago." Fawnkit said looking at where her sister sat by the Medicine Cat Den. "Do you play Moss ball?"

Swiftbreeze felt pity for the kit, it must have been very difficult. The black tom could recall them being brought to camp, but he was not directly involved so he had never been introduced to them. He did recall the gossip surrounding two kits but he often kept his distance from such matters. He hid his pity with uncharacteristic optimism, standing up with his tail held high. “That sounds like a lot of fun. You’ll have to teach me how to play.” He purred, his green eyes followed the kit’s gaze to a similar looking cat by the medicine cat den. “Do you want to see if your sister would like to play too?” He asked. He couldn’t help but worry that perhaps the two were struggling to adapt to clan life.

Leafstar nodded at Swiftbreeze and listened to what the others had to say about the new prophecy. When they were done, she went to the leader's den. "Tigerspots! If any trouble occurs, I'll be in my den." The new leader went to her den and curled up.

Fawnkit shook her head. "Doekit doesn't like to play. But she'll probably watch us play. She doesn't trust anyone in camp." She trotted to the medicine cat den where their nest was to steal a ball of moss from it. She formed a haphazard ball and tossed it at Swiftbreeze.

Swiftbreeze nodded as the kit spoke, his eyes lingering on Doekit, worry clouding his eyes. He could remember when he was a kit, too scared to leave his mother’s side, worried that something would happen the moment he strayed a paw too far from the den. He didn’t even want to become an apprentice due to stories of battles plaguing his dreams. These kits however, didn’t have the option to stay close to their mother now. Silently, he decided to keep a close eye on them, not wanting fear to prevent them from living life to the fullest like it has for himself. His attention turned fully back to Fawnkit as she raced away, he watched the ball of moss clumsily roll towards him stopped it with ease. “Do I toss it back?” He asked, his massive head tilting as he spoke.

Fawnkit nodded. "Flora, Doekit, and I used to play all the time. The more players you have the more fun it is." She bounced and waited for him to pass it back. She watched and streched her eyes bright. She was so full of energy and sje had met multiple cats now from the clan. Most of them toms. Doekit heard her name and lifted her head. She shook her head as Fawnkit had yet another warrior playing with her.

Swiftbreeze’s ears perked the name Flora, was it their sister or perhaps their mother? He wanted to ask but feared that Fawnkit might not want to discuss it, he simply nodded and smiled. He pushed the ball towards Fawnkit with his paw. From the corner of his eye, he could see Doekit’s disapproval, he didn’t feel offended, he would probably feel the same way in her position. “Good catch.” He purred to fawnkit when the moss ball had reached her.

(Sorry I'm poofy im moving back to college tomorrow so I've been packing.)
Fawnkit squealed as the ball reached her and shot it back to Swiftbreeze. "Do you like being a warrior? Froststripes likes it. He says he hunts rabbits." She purred. She watched the ball waiting for it to come back her way so she could leap on it.

(No worries! I know the pain lol)
Swiftbreeze was slightly caught of guard by the young cat's question, he had expected her to ask for stories instead of whether he even enjoyed being a warrior, but then nodded, laughing lightly as he watched her pounce onto the ball. "Yes I do. Soon you will be able to hunt rabbits too." He told her, ready to catch the ball. "Are you looking forward to it?"

When Fawnkit landed on the ball she smiled and then got off of it and flicked it in the direction of Swiftbreeze. She nodded when the tom said he enjoyed bring a warrior. Then she tilted her head and cocked her ear to the side thinking about whether she felt excited to hunt rabbits. "I feel like I need to start with something much smaller. Rabbits seem liek they are too big and hard to catch right now." She watched the ball whizz toward Swiftbreeze and knew he would catch it.

Swiftbreeze was impressed but the speed of Fawnkit’s toss, and had to adjusts his position to firming catch it. He tossed it back again as he spoke to her. “I’m sure your mentor will start with something much smaller,” he told her, “You’ll also grow a lot by the time you become an apprentice.” The tom added. He glanced at her, she must be very close to 6 moons judging by her size. Cats always grew fast once they became apprentices, it was common to see a smaller mentor towered over by their apprentice after a few months. “I think the first prey I had ever caught was a thrush.” Swiftbreeze added, having to look back into his memory to confirm it. He could remember that his mentor had told him he had a gift for hunting when he had caught a bird on his first try. He had been so nervous of messing up that he was still trembling after they had returned to camp. He smiled at the memory.

Fawnkit nodded. "I think I want to catch a vole. I think they should be pretty easy overall." She nodded as if confirming her own thoughts on the matter. She missed the ball whiz past her as she daydreamed about hunting for her first prey.

Swiftbreeze smiled at her goal, it was a good one. Though he suspects that she did not realize how tricky voles could be to catch. He watched as the ball rushed past her, and walked over to where it had fallen, flicking a paw to the kit once again. "A vole is harder to catch than his moss ball so you might be in trouble." he purred, teasing the young cat. "Are you done playing?" he asked, noticing that she seemed lost in her own world.

Fawnkit shook herself out of her thoughts as Swiftbreeze talked. "Oh I was just thinking about hunting is all. We can keep playing as long as you're okay to." She hopped on the ball and waited to fling it until the tom got back to his position.

Willowpaw padded over to the fresh-kill pile, her dilute calico tail flicking softly. When she reached the pile, the young she-cat paused, taking in all the scents. After debating between taking a vole or a mouse, she finally grabbed a small, brownish-gray mouse and carried it over to outside the apprentice’s den.

(It's perfect!)
Swiftbreeze shook his head, he had no patrol today and had already hunted plenty for the clan, he would feel too guilty if he refused to play with the kit and instead went and sat around. "It's fine, I have plenty of time." He told her, getting back to his previous spot. He readied himself for the moss ball, though he kept an eye on the rest of the camp. He was unaware of the prophecy, but he could tell that something had happened while he was hunting.

Fawnkit smiled and threw the ball. She wondered what to talk about now. "I wondered who my mentor will be." She thought aloud. She watched Swiftbreeze to see if he would catch the ball and when he would throw it back.

Swiftbreeze caught the ball with ease and quickly tossed it back, “I’m sure that Leafstar will pair you with a great mentor, no need to worry.” He told her, flicking his tail as he spoke. He was glad that she seemed so intent on becoming an apprentice. He worried for her sister though, who seemed to still be struggling with clan life. “You’ll be becoming an apprentice in a moon or two correct?”

The black cat was proud that his assumption of their ages had been correct. “Very soon then.” He stated with a slight purr in his throat, he then caught the ball and tossed it back again, this time faster than it had been. “Is your sister excited too?” He asked, masking the worry in his tone with friendliness. He wondered if he should mention his concern to anyone, but he feared that would alienate the two kits even more of he did. “You two will get to hunt and train together, it’s a lot more fun when other apprentices get to join you.”

Fawnkit caught the ball and shook her head. "I don't think she is. But maybe she will like the freedom of being able to go hunting. Flora was going to start teaching us hunting soon." She trailed off but threw the ball. Maybe she thought it wasnt the best idea to be ttelling the warrior all about her sister's mistrust of the clan.

Swifbreeze couldn't hide his pity this time, he felt guilty even though he had not caused the kits' misfortunes. The tom paused for a moment before passing it back to Fawnkit. "I would be scared too." He told Fawnkit, wanting to offer her some reassurance. " It must be very hard for you two. It's okay to feel nervousness or fear, you just can't let it control you." He said, parroting words he had heard a lot as a kit. "You're sister will come to terms with this, it just may take her a bit longer. You just have to make sure to help her, which I'm sure you are."

Fawnkit nodded. "I'll try my best. I'm nervous that once she becomes able to fight and hunt that she might leave. Especially if she thinks I'm safe with the clan." She frowned and shook her head.
Doekit looked around and sighed. She could see the worry in the looks of both Swiftbreeze and Fawnkit. She wondered what they were talking about.

Swiftbreeze paused when she said that, is anxiety growing for the young kit. Cliffclan was in a harsh area, learning to hunt and fight would not be enough to survive. Prey could be scarce and predators plenty, you needed numbers to truly feel protected. He had often spotted groups of loners gathering when times were especially tough, a cat from a clan would have difficulties getting accepted if such situations were to arise. "I see." He mewed quietly, tossing the ball back "Your Mothe-Flora...She brought you both her for a reason, to protect you. We want both you and Doekit to live happy, healthy and safe lives. If you are ever worried about your sister, you can come talk to me. She won't get in trouble. It's scary feeling alone, and it's normal for her to be nervous about being here." He told Fawnkit quietly, making sure Doekit was out of earshot. The thought of Doekit running off just to be mauled by a fox or cougar caused his stomach to tie into knots. "You two need to stick together, but it's always good to find friends and family among the clan."

Fawnkit caught the ball. She held onto it as she thought about what the warrior was saying. "I did at least see her play with a younger kit the other day. And she talks to Scarabpaw sometimes." She said trying to not worry Swiftbreeze too much. She tossed the ball back and watched for him to catch it.
