I'd agree if we didn't already have WindxGorse and RowanxTawny. It rarely happens, but it seems like BramblexSquirrel is the exception, not the rule. i didn't like rowan x tawny either, so in my mind, i see wind and gorse as the only canon one that worked, the other 2 we know didn't (imo) RowanTawny worked perfectly fine to me, certainly much better than BrambleSquirrel. At least with RowanTawny it was openly stated that he always listened to Tawnypelt when she was deputy. It was why she was so uncomfortable as Tigerstar’s deputy. Tigerstar hardly ever let her do her job as deputy. BrambleSquirrel is the outlier of these 3 ships in terms of communication and being able to put aside matehood for rankings. Though I do respect your opinion, I do think that BrambleSquirrel and RowanTawny are not on the same level.

no one should have mates. let the clans die out so the world knows peace /s This sounds like a good idea, but just the Tiger and Fire kin for now, since they seem to be involved in most of the drama these days.

How about Blue kin? There's Mistystar, Reedwhisker, Goosefeather, Stonefur and Bluestar herself.

Especially Goosefeather, who never even had a chance to live a normal life, and he had everyone around him treating him like crap.

FeatherstarI really like Goosefeather. There seems to be more to his character than just that too, like in Bluestar's Prophecy, he seems to have a pretty good sense of humor, and he seems to care about this nieces, like he was joking around with Bluekit and Snowkit, and telling them stories, I found that really nice.

Goosefeather was the one to convince Bluefur to give her kits to RiverClan, leading to Bluestar becoming deputy and then leader, and Mistyfoot becoming the future leader of RiverClan. All because of Thistleclaw.

FeatherstarSo, basically all of this is because StarClan meddling. StarClan is messing up the clans, if they make these codes then they should STICK WITH THEM MY GOODNESS! If a cat breaks a serious code, don't give them nine lives! Littlecloud was right.

I thought we were talking about Goosefeather, not Thistleflaw Goosefeather, Thistleclaw and Bluefur were tied together during that time when Sunstar was trying to choose a new deputy. Thistleclaw hated Bluefur. Goosefeather saw bloodshed down Thistleclaw's path if he were to become leader so Goosefeather had Bluefur give her kits up to save ThunderClan.

FeatherstarI really don't understand what any of this has to do with the main topic lol. Also, if Bluestar was a loyal warrior in the first place, she wouldn't have to give up her kits, mainly because they wouldn't exist. I feel bad for her, but I don't think she should have been an option to be leader for that reason.

Do you want to take the Goosefeather, Bluefur\star and Mistyfoot\star discussion to the PM's, Chicken?

I personally think there should be a no close kin rule for deputy appointments. This includes mates, parents, kits, and littermates to the leader. Siblings from different litters and nieces/nephews are fine. This would put an end to nepotism.

That sounds like a good idea to me, unless they're the absolute best options at the time, like Tawny/Tiger being chosen in AVOS and Lionblaze being chosen at that moment in time during TBC.
