Kestrilslip was found outside the territory of {Clan}, having been raised alongside the other kits in the nursery thinking they were a clanborn cat. On their adopted mother's deathbed, she reveals the truth about Kestrelslip's origins. This leaves him with a sickly feeling in their stomach, everything making sense about the clan life they have lived so far. He makes the choice to leave the clan to find their real parents, discover why they had been left behind. As they are leaving, Eaglebriar stops them to ask what they are doing. When it's explained, Eaglebriar refuses to let him travel alone. The pair sets out to find the true origins of him but along the way they face many dangers, whether it's rogues, dogs, or foxes. Muse A: Kestrilslip Muse B: Eaglebriar
Story So Far
Just info in case I need it uwu
Allegiances Cats can be added here as we go! Warriors: Eaglebriar -
Eaglebriar is a tall, lanky grey and fawn molly with a white tail-tip and chest, She has a feathery tipped tail and a narrow face with large ears. Her eyes are a forest green. She has a soul filled voice and a earthy scent. Eaglebriar has a vast knowledge of many things. From herbs and healing, to hunting and fishing. She dedicated her life to learning the different ways of life in the clan. While she cares for every life, Eaglebriar can be a bit tough to deal with. She is determined in getting her way, no matter what it is she may want. She is known to open her maw and tell anyone how she feels and if she thinks they are wrong about something. Yet, she is a loyal and brave molly and wouldn't hesitate to help a soul. Born to a tom named Otterpelt who dedicated much of his time to his warrior duties and little time to his kits. Her mother was a gentle soul, Pebblewish, who was a mother to many. She was a permanent queen, helping young mothers and adopting many kits. Eaglebriar had one sibling, a tom named Stormflight. Stormflight was her best friend in life and the tom she trusted most. Her father died in a border fight when she was still an apprentice. Eaglebriar was trained by Thornspark. The pair bonded immediately. He provided her with more support and love than any other in the clan. Her mentors death from a bought of Greencough had crushed her more than the death of her father. ( ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥ ) Kestrilslip
Kestrilslip is an awkward gangling tom. He has brown tabby markings littering his white pelt and soft green eyes that grow a more amber color near the outer edges. He usually sports a new scratch along his body in some shape or another and has scars littering along his body. His apprenticehood was filled with hardships, having a mentor who was too hard on him and never being able to catch up with his three siblings. It didn't help that he suffered a bout of greencough near the beginning of his training. He fell behind even the younger apprentices, not earning his name until 3 moons after his littermates. He received his well fitted name due to the fact he constantly ended up in the medicine cat's den from tripping over his own paws or clanmates. Kestrelslip always struggled with the sense of imposter syndrome, wondering why he couldn't match his fellow warriors/apprentices pawstep to pawstep. He almost switched to becoming a medicine cat half way into his training but despite knowing all the herbs he never did speak with StarClan, another failure he felt causing him to revert back to a normal apprentice. Despite all this, he is rather cheerful albeit a bit shy. Most cats can find him hanging around the medicine cat's den, even when he isn't sporting a new stylish scar. ( ☾ѕησσzє☽ ) Tansybird - Tansybird is a soft fluffy ginger she-cat with amber eyes. White encases her paws and muzzle, along with a lighter ginger running along her stomach. She is the shortest of the siblings, standing the size of a small apprentice. TBA

Kestrelslip was pacing outside the den, listening for the medicine cat's voice to call him inside. He had been awoken by his littermate, Tansybird, and dragged out here. The rest of his littermates followed suit, now laying with half closed eyes behind him. The sun had barely begun it's rise in the sky. casting hues of light blue across the sky and awakening the birds who chirped incessantly. The dew on the ground still clung tightly, wetting his paws. He stopped his pacing to shake his fur and fluff what little of it he had up. After doing so, his pacing continued, sharply turning around every few paces and lashing his tail.
"Be careful, Slip, you might break something and join Softbreeze in the medicine cat's den." Furzefall mewed, licking one of his white paws and dragging it carefully over his right ear. Normally, this comment would be taken in jest but Kestrelslip stopped once more to approach his brother with anger in his eyes.
"This is not the time, Furzefall, our mother could very well be passing away in that den and you think it's a great moment to joke around?" His brother stopped his paw, cocking his head to the side and staring blankly at him. They remained in this position for a few heartbeats before Furzefall burst out laughing, loudly, causing the two cats beside him to whip their heads around with wide eyes and shock.
"Learn to take a joke, little one," of course he would use that terrible nickname right now "Softbreeze has survived worse, remember when she got that bout of greencough?" Kestrelslip shook his head, letting a small snort out. Of course he could remember that, it was soon after his own and he blamed himself for moons as he watched her slowly deteriorate in that den, refusing all food until the rest of the clan had been fed.
"This is different, unlike last time she isn't young. They say the infection has gotten worse and isn't responding well to the herbs. She also developed a cough this quarter moon. Remember?" Ryeflake chirped in before scrunching up under both of his brother's gazes. Kestrilslip gave a tight nod to him, turning back to Furzefall who was now quietly looking down. With the end of the conversation, Kestrilslip began his pacing once more. This time around, it was short lived. A small tortoiseshell head peeked out of the den, their amber eyes focused solely on him.
"She asked for Kestrelslip, the rest of you may join him in a moment." Now everyone was confused, she didn't play favorites growing up so why would she want her final moments with only one kit? Either way, Furzefall nudged his brother's back leg with his paw, causing him to nearly fall forward. No laughter was shared afterwards, all the cats in a numb silence as they watched him retreat behind the medicine cat.
"You wanted to see me?" Kestrilslip mewed, eyeing the medicine cat who was now sorting herbs, pretending to not listen but their ear was angled to them. Softbreeze let out a weak mew, sounding more like a sickly kit than his strong mother. His heart clenched at the sound, turning his head to her and burying his nose into her fur. The sweet scent that was once clung there barely stayed, replaced with the awful stink of sickness and herbs. He had to force down a small gag, not wanting to offend or embarrass her in these important moments.
"Yes, it involves your birth." He inwardly groaned at the idea of discussing her kitting right now, it was already mentioned to him once in passing. She had a hard time with Furzefall, blaming it on the fact he loved to make everything more difficult than it should have been. "You...you aren't my own kit." She whispered, eyes staring blankly ahead at the wall in front of her. A prickle of concern went down his spine, was she going senile right now? It..well okay, it did make sense to him but it couldn't be true. He remembered laying next to his littermates for moons in the nursery, his father teaching him how to hunt with a leaf. Wrestling with Furzefall the first day out of the den.
"You must rest, mother, you don't know what you're talking about." He replied, pressing his muzzle softly into her ear. He couldn't shake the feeling it was true though, she didn't have a reason to pull such a cruel prank, nor had she done so before in the past.
"No, Kestrelslip, it is the truth. You were brought to me by our former medicine cat, found by the border with the stench of land faraway clinging to your small pelt." Another bout of coughs broke up her words, her eyes closing softly as if to signal the end of the conversation. The medicine cat took their leave once more, bringing in the rest of his siblings.
☽☼☾ Only a few short nights later, Kestrelslip found himself staring before a piece of prey before him. His claws digging into the dirt below him. Since his late mother's reveal, his dreams were plagued with confusing landscapes that felt both new and familiar to him. It was bugging him, laying next to clanmates that weren't actually his family. Who were they? He couldn't just keep pretending he belonged anymore, he needed to find out who he was. He glanced over to the camp entrance, the feeling of running hitting him.
Sorry for lots of backstory, just trying to set the mood! I was thinking she could approach him before he leaves? Probably leave the night of the current scene idk ]:

»»————- ★ ————-«« Eaglebriar || 38 Moon old || Molly || A few sunrises had passed by since the morning of Softbreeze's passing. While she hadn't been close to the warrior, she had respected her and mourned her loss with the rest of the clan. Her heart had gone out to the kits she had left behind. Even though they were warriors now, the loss of a parent was one of the worst feelings. Eaglebriar herself had lost her father when she was only 8 moons old, almost 30 moons prior. She remembered the grief she'd felt from the tom that had been distant from his own kits, only coming around every once in awhile. His loss had been a cloud over her head, but bearable. It was her mentor, Thornspark, that had twisted her heart right out of her chest with his passing. He'd fallen ill from a bad bought of Greencough only sunrises before her warrior ceremony. She remembered him struggling into the clearing to watch her get her warrior name, being the first to cheer her new name. He'd lost his battle only 2 dawns after, with Eaglebriar at his side. She'd struggled through a patch of darkness, a thick cloud of depression effecting her duties with the clan. It was Krestleslip, then Krestlepaw that had pulled her out of her grief, helping her move on from the death of the tom she had seen as a true father.
While she had her mother still, she couldn't help but feel as if she had grown apart from the sweet fawn queen after the passing of Otterpelt. Pebblewish had devoted her time to helping raise the kits in the nursery, distracting herself from the reality that her kits were growing and her mate was gone. And Stormflight, well the big fluffy gray tom was her greatest friend. They'd practically been inseparable from the moment they were born. He had grown closer to Krestleslip's sister, Tansybird over the past few moons. Sticking by the molly's side since her mothers passing. Of course, Eaglebriar didn't blame her brother for padding after the fluffy ginger molly. Though, that'd left her by herself, more often than not.
Now, as she sat in the shadows of an overhanding tree branch, the lanky grey and fawn molly couldn't help but watch as Krestleslip stared at a piece of prey that sat before him. After some time, his green eyes wandered to the camp entrance. She couldn't help but wonder what the brown tabby warrior was thinking about. While she'd spoken her regards to him after the passing of Softbreeze, she'd kept her distance otherwise. Yet, with all the time she'd spent alone, the molly had found herself watching her clanmates instead. Would Krestleslip be upset to know she had been watching the family the dawn of their mothers passing.? She'd been in the shadows, watching when the medicine cat had brought the tom into the den alone. She had noticed the change in the warriors features after he had left the medicine cat den again. Something had been passed between him and his mother that had effected the warrior, though he hadn't spoken of it.
After a moment of hesitation, the older warrior got to her paws and moved towards the younger tom. Once close enough, she realized she had approached behind the tom and he may not have heard her approach. Clearing her throat, she settled next to Krestleslip and settled her forest green eyes on him. While she tried to hide it, a hint of sympathy shimmered in her gaze. "Hey Krestleslip. How are you holding up.?" She explored his gaze for a moment, before following to where his eyes traveled, the camp entrance. "You've been watching the entrance to camp like you're expecting something to come bursting through there. " While she was teasing, a twinge of anxiety hit her chest. Was Krestleslip expecting something to happen.? Or was he wishing he was elsewhere in this universe.?

The sudden sound of his clanmate startled him but he was quick to hide it, wrapping his tail along his side. At least she gave an excuse for him to abandon his meal, he wasn't all that interested in it in the first place. Her questions nearly went in one ear though and out the other, his thoughts lost behind a deep fog in his mind. He snapped back to attention, settling his gaze upon hers.
"I am doing as well as one can expect, I suppose." He began, his words carefully chosen. He wasn't sure he wanted to oust himself to her just yet, or anyone for that matter. "As for why I'm watching the entrance..well.." He tried to come up with something that was a half truth, he wanted to know her opinion without outright telling her. "Have you ever wondered about what lays beyond our borders? Like the other cats out there. I mean sure, we see a spare rogue or loner every now and then but we never really to get know them." He mentally cursed at himself for sounding like this, would she think he wanted to leave the clan? It was certainly on his mind but he didn't have much to go off of besides his mother's words. Perhaps the medicine cat would know more, he would have to press them for more information afterwards.
{I'm sorry its short Dx i just finished a 10 hour shift but wanted to get something out! }
