Essentially the title! (I’m halfway done with VOS and intend to finish it by tomorrow. I want to get caught up before the final book is out and I’ve been behind for a while.) I was hoping the allegiances could give me some form of clue but Graystripe is present as an elder in DN and PONS…
So I don’t know exactly I’m to be reading it, since his traveling is weirdly placed. I know he leaves at some point in DN, I think? (Depending on how late he leaves in the book, I’ll just read DN first and then GV.)

You mean DW (Darkness Within)? And it really doesn't take long for Graystripe to leave. It's towards the beginning of the book. You can just read it after VoS.

You can read right after veil of shadows. graystripe’s vow doesn’t even spoil who the imposter is, but if you hang out here, you probably know all of the spoilers already.

I suggest the following: Veil Of Shadows, Darkness Within, Graystripe's Vow and The Place Of No Stars.

(No clue as to how all that gets revealed though, since that luckily hasn’t been mentioned on the forums to my knowledge. And I’d rather not know.)

Because of certain things that happen in the last chapter of Graystripe's Vow that also is finished up on in Chapter 7 (I think) of TPONS. Let me just tell you, you will see the same leaving on a wonder scene in DW as GV.

Let me just tell you, you will see the same leaving on a wonder scene in DW as GV. There isn't anything in GV that really spoils anything for DW. I know what happens in Chapter 7, but again, it doesn't really spoil anything, least of all for TPoNS which is fortunate since the SE was published before DW was. GV is very much a self-contained story for the most part.

I see, I think. Oh, a question that is relevant. When does Graystripe return, book wise? (Since that might also impact order reading.) (In case this has been answered, My apologies. A little sleepy and trying to not fall asleep.)

Thank you for the advice! I have just finished VOS and will now move onto DW. (I’ve already glanced at its page count and the second and fourth book has a larger page count in comparison to the first and third.)

I would read it after Darkness Within.
