The vast majority of villains in Warriors are all out in their badness, with the only real exceptions being Hollyleaf and Thistleclaw, and even then they aren't particularly sympathetic. They are merely tragic in how they fell from grace, but there is very little to call them sympathetic given that their reasons for turning dark are ultimately based on just lashing out angrily at the world. They are more the Macbeth than they are anything else.
Anyway, while I have no problem with that, I'm curious as to how people would want to see a sympathetic villain done in the series? Do you even want one at all or is it irrelevant to you? Are there villains in the series that you found sympathetic (certainly I can see the arguments for why Thistleclaw and Hollyleaf would be so)?

I personally don't mind it if villains aren't sympathetic or don't get an redemption but it can definitely be attempted more, at least in my opinion.
In terms of sympathy for a villain without redemption, Mapleshade, or at least her circumstances of becoming evil, was someone I felt bad for as losing her kits wasn't an excuse for her murderous ways by any means but it was an explanation.
Longtail was more of an antagonist but his redemption was satisfying and I really like his further development and sympathize with his storyline of finally being free of Tigerstar's bad influence and living his life properly instead of being a mere lackey, only to get blinded shortly afterwards.
Hollyleaf is a sympathetic character who also got a redemption to rememer her by although I still wish it had been shown in a different way.
Breezepelt also was sympathetic to me in the sense of him getting neglected by his father and becoming an easy target for the Dark Forest due to his rage about him and his half-siblings. But him trying to murder Jayfeather and being glad Hollyleaf died was still horrible, of course. His redemption was fine but could have been at least a little better or done in a more morally gray type of way.
Snowtuft, while interesting, still has some of his darker aspects, like idolizing Tigerstar (I) and hating Firestar for being his enemy and a kittypet but I'm interested to see how his story ends or goes on further.
"Oh, I knew Tigerstar! He was a great cat. He could have been leader of the whole forest if it hadn't been for that stupid kittypet Firestar." βSnowtuft reflecting on Tigerstar to Shadowsight in The Place of No Stars (book), page 143
The other two cats who got a "redemption" so far, if I'm not forgetting anyone, Clear Sky and Star Flower, are not well written in that aspect and both of them would have been better off as staying villainous.
