What do you think the cats would call gay cats?
or themselves as gay?

From what I’ve read from Ravenpaw’s Farewell, they’ll probably be called mates like usual.

You mean as a term they'd used for themselves by warrior standards? I don't think they'd care tbh, and they'd still refer to their mates as mates, or partners. Cats don't use the term hetero, so I don't think they'd used terms like gay, or other sexualities in the books lol.

As everyone else has said, probably just as mates. Human and Warriors terminology don't really mix too well socially.

We honestly don't know since there are no officially canon + officially shown gay couples in the series and that are mentioned as such (either tom x tom or she-cat x she-cat), but they would probably just be referred to as being mates. Since plenty of she-cats in the series were pressured to have kits, the most amount of sexism and homophobia I would expect that they would receive, if they were Clanborn and she-cats, is by some questionable individuals trying to convince them to become mates with a tom instead, which if gay characters ever become a thing I definitely don't want that theme introduced. But otherwise, if not utterly and completely, they would be accepted just like any pairing.
