It all started (I think) with CrystalColors essentially tweeting that Ravenpaw was only a popular character because he was gay thus reducing him to his orientation and thinking she was in the right about it. She also made another tweet about Barley which she started with writing that he was even worse than Ravenpaw for just being a plot device so he had something to do in the story and then ending that specific tweet with the very passive agressive sentence of "Glad your gay though." Big yikes to this whole situation, honestly. Of course, CrystalColors is also currently still getting exposed for other things she wrote in her private chatroom with her group of friends called FeralClan but it's not really related to the Warriors series. Anyways, needless to say CrystalColors has deactivated her official Twitter over the entire backlash which her comments have caused. I saw someone compile those tweets as screenshots but cannot find the tweet as of now, either because I don't have an account on Twitter or due to something else. She also wrote a very defensive apology before deleting her account on the 8th of August. Slightly before this, Bright Guardian Akira had made a video titled something like "1000 people rank Warrior Cats characters" where everyone voted on who the most popular character was. So, Ravenpaw was the winner of this second attempt at it with Jayfeather in first place during the original one happening offscreen in a previous round. BGA privated (or deleted, I'm not sure) that video because she felt like her tone was too harsh upon reacting to Ravenpaw's victory. She then made another video focused on Ravenpaw as a character called "Is Ravenpaw Any Good?" under which some fans asked what happened to the poll video. Here is her Ravenpaw video together with such a comment from a fan that BGA gave an answer to: Ribotto Studios I had a feeling that Akira regretted bashing Ravenpaw in the previous video (and yes I will use the term bash here it was pretty harsh even if it was MEANT to be light hearted.) hence why that ranking video was deleted. Granted I was surprised Raven won over Jay who is ALSO a fan favorite, but to each their own. After preaching about wanting good discourse when it comes to Mapleshade, for Akira to later bash Ravenpaw, that felt hecking hypocritical. So I'm glad they changed their tune and decided to look more closely into Ravenpaw. Bright Guardian Akira Yeah I felt the tournament video was a little too divisive. I was trying to go for βrooting for your favorite sports teamβ vibes but it ended up just being needlessly mean to a few characters that I honestly donβt even hate that much. Other than that two videos have come out from other youtubers, Blixemi and Northflowo. One in which BGA voices Alderheart in the "Alderheart vs. Ravenpaw Epic Rap Battles of Warriors #17" video: And an animation meme known as "H.A.Y. - Ravenpaw": WARNING: Rapid Images and Flashing Lights Any thoughts or opinions on this entire thing going on? I also wonder if it's not over yet and even more discourse/debate will happen about Ravenpaw and if videos on him continue to come out much more often than usual. (By the way, I'm currently rather surprised at myself for still remembering specific wording of the CrystalColors tweets despite of them having been deleted since before last week and the title and mood of BGA's deleted video as well, which I watched only once before it also vanished. I guess that I'm just glad my memory is working alright.)

I am kind of oblivious to some of it due to intentionally distancing myself from twitter/youtube fandom drama. Ravenpaw is just very likable, so itβs understandable that lots of people like him. Heβs the past victim who comes back strong for his birth Clan.

I honestly try to stay out of fandom drama, and I really don't venture too far into it, so other than what you've told me about it, I don't really know much to really form an opinion on that aspect. However with Ravenpaw, he's an alright character, I honestly find him to be a bit overrated, but I don't dislike him or anything, he's a good guy, and had a great character growth, but he's just there for me. As for the rap battle.. Ravenpaw decimated Alderheart, he used like one of his biggest insecurities (feeling inferior to his sister) against him.

A few people talked about this new drama surrounding CrystalColors in a Discord server I'm in. She apparently faked death threats given to her in her thread about Ravenpaw and Barley and refused to answer to criticism. Honestly, I'm glad she's gone. Β―\_(γ)_/Β―

1. I don't care about CrystalColors. She's constantly at the center of drama and sending her fans after people for no reason. For all her critiques of Draik, she's only barely better and then hides behind being 17 as an excuse to escape criticism. I wish parents would start monitoring what their kids are doing online because teenagers becoming popular and sending their fans to attack others is getting farrrr too common
2. Ravenpaw being gay is nice, but his whole personality is enjoyable, as was his final journey where he died. Anyone saying otherwise isn't looking too deeply into the character.

That line was good, but it was one of Ravenpaw's only good lines. Far too many of them were just insulting his arc rather than Alderpaw himself and some of them didn't even make any sense. How is Rowanclaw dying Alderheart's fault? How does Alderheart resemble Tigerstar more than Firestar? Ravenpaw spent way too long trying to pin the bad events of AVOS on Alderheart when none of it is remotely his fault and that just killed that side for me, even if he had a few good lines here and there. A few haymakers when your overall performance is poor doesn't win you a battle, imo.

I'm not going to lie, I didn't think too much about it, I completely forgot most of what was even said except for that last line when I made this post. Seeing that all written out, it does seem like a very poor argument on Ravenpaw's end.

Β―\_(γ)_/Β― Agreed, I'm also surprised that this was going to be brought up at all. I remember being there on twitter when it happened, it was quite vile to find out about the fake death threats, but at the same time I'm not surprised. On top of that, she very much is a white, cis hetero, she really has no business making comments like that about queer characters in the series. Not to mention, apparently in June, she was making pride merch/commissions and making a profit off of them, taking advantage of minorities over donating the proceeds. She always seems to find herself in the center of drama lately, and hopefully she does see her own word through, and stay out the fandom.

Her parents need to monitor her better

Her parents need to monitor her better Considering the fact that CrystalColrs turned 18 at the end of July (so shortly before she made the offensive Ravenpaw and Barley tweets) while also supposedly launching her Etsy shop upon now being considered as an adult, I highly doubt her parents were ever monitoring her online life to begin with or will even be able to monitor her activities in the future.

I wasn't aware she'd finally turned 18. Either way, her bullying issue has been going on since she was a minor. Her art was pretty, but having a platform means having responsibilities and if you use it to attack people, you're not being responsible and it should be taken away

Aw man, I really liked CrystalColorsΚΌ MAPS and art in general, especially the Enby Crowfeather AU. I don't have Twitter so I wasn't aware of the fact she's so toxic. What a shame.
Well, I really like Ravenpaw and adore his relationship with Barley, but saying he's only popular because he's gay is really, really stupid. He was one of my favourite characters when I read the first series, and I didn't even know that sexualities other than Heterosexual existed back then. I think he's so popular since he's a very relatable, sweet character, and we don't have so many of them.

Recently I called out Moodledoodle too because I saw on her post, "I didn't know she was so mean! I can't believe she's like that!" so I reminded them of the times they went along with Crystals bullying toward the child about the MAP issue. I don't remember exactly what they both said but they're both big ass liars who try to cover up what they've done. Moodle knew who Crystal is like and yet she said on Twitter "I had no idea she was like them" yet they're the ones who partially started it along with Crystal so that's a bunch of shit. I used to like Moodle but after confronting them I really don't anymore :/ Moodledoodle knows exactly how it feels to have a fandom treat you like shit, Tangy has done this to them and their fans sent Moodle death threats. She knows exactly what that child went through so I find it horse shit that she didn't know what Crystal is doing Edit: I apologize, I keep calling Moodledoodle "she". They*.

Her art was pretty, but having a platform means having responsibilities and if you use it to attack people, you're not being responsible and it should be taken away I 100% agree with you on the fact that CC didn't take the responsibility she had, as a content creator with a decently sized platform of rather devoted/adoring fans, serious but her Youtube channel is still up and will probably continue to be her platform because most of her fans over there don't seem to be aware of her recent or even past Twitter drama (the one where she was bullying 14 year old Kulta about the Cleopatra MAP). She could probably only learn from her mistakes if a lot of people started unsubscribing from her Youtube channel. I just checked out the comment section of her latest video (which came out two weeks ago) and so far there have only been a handful of people expressing negative opinions about her behaviour under it. But if she keeps up with trying to hide the truth from her largest fanbase that kind of proves she never truly meant her apology in the first place and just released such a document for damage control and not because she's really sorry about what she did. Also, I distinctively remember her saying that the apology would (somehow) still be available on Twitter as a PDF document link even after she would delete her account but everything seems to be gone now so there's that.

The problem is that no one is holding them accountable. People, when I was a teen, used to primarily cyber bully people they knew, so there were ways to contact parents and stuff. Now theyβre harassing strangers online and unless the parents monitor closely, parents will be unaware of their kids constantly dog piling on people. Iβve noticed this is a very Gen Z thing which will probably continue into the younger generations too Itβs too easy to bully with 0 repercussions now, especially since then they go and cry that theyβre minors when you rightfully point out their behavior Itβs happening in a bunch of fandoms rn. My friend and I were discussing it in relation to Genshin Impact a week or two again

My friend and I were discussing it in relation to Genshin Impact a week or two again I'm personally multi-fandom, and I've seen a lot of drama rise and fall over the last 10+ years on the internet, and honestly I gotta say that I agree. The new wave of generation that's coming onto the internet is quite dangerous, a lot of them are very young kids without any supervision, that group with mob mentality. They think that because they're minors that they can do what they like, and target harass other minors and even invade adult orientated spaces. Or try to segregate spaces that are supposed to be open to all, and make it only theirs. It's a frustrating situation. I also wanna say that I kinda blame it on the Voltron fandom, and that whole collapse that happened on tumblr, after that they kinda bled into other fandoms, and made their way to twitter. So now even content creators avoid twitter a lot because of Gen Z facading targeted harassment under cancel culture. You can be deemed as "problematic" for even the slightest thing, and you'll suddenly be swarmed with a bunch harassment. Unfortunately I've been targeted a few times already before, but it's not something that can easily bother me nowadays. But it doesn't stop the second-hand embarrassment I get from watching. Also Genshin Impact is quite a big one, along with other fandoms nowadays like Owl House, DSMP, etc. When it comes to Warriors, it seems situations like this with CC, are pretty much falling into that same category too.

This situation is usually what happens when a younger person gets a bunch of fame out of nowhere. It goes to their head and they misinterpret their audience as their friends so they think they can say stuff like that without much forethought

Especially because CC got further exposed, even after deleting her Twitter account, for being homophobic, transphobic and racist by someone who had been friends with some of her friends and had received screenshots from an "insider" in their private FeralClan chat which showed them getting talked badly about behind their back. After seeing her causing the Ravenpaw drama, I just had to see if anything else had happened and there it is.
