Taking a break from the forums because my cat died. Will probably be back mid to late October.

Yesterday, I watched this video on Youtube by Sunnyfall and just thought it to be very insightful.
My top three favorite characters are and always will be Firestar, Tigerstar I and Cinderpelt so I'm now going to try and see if any of the five factors she listed in her video will apply to them.
Here I go:
Firestar I started reading the Warriors series at just seven years old so Personal Attachment is definitely the case for him (and Bramblestar who is also on my list of favorites despite becoming a problematic favorite in recent months). I loved how Firestar stood up for what (he believed) was right and have always admired his sense of courage and kindness so him being Morally Good is a reason as well. His story going from outsider to leader also fascinated me to no end and still does (wouldn't mind a character with a similar story) which means Interest plays into my liking of him too. Except for a few scenes, Firestar stayed Consistent although this is not really a category I'm basing any of my most beloved characters on, it's nice to see nonetheless.
Tigerstar I I love to hate this cat. He's a villain so Personal Attachment and Interest are the only reasons for me to "like" him in any way. Though I'm very prone to make him good in a lot of AUs just to see what kind of character he could be instead of the cruel monster in canon. He's also mostly Consistent in his evilness.
Cinderpelt I adore her so much. She became one of my all time favorites in the exact moment her apprentice ceremony was shown. So Peronal Attachment and Interest are once again major factors. Her optimistic personality naturally developing further from the time of her accident and remaining there but in a way more mature manner felt natural and thus Consistent. She always meant well and wanted to help wherever she could both before and after her accident which is Morally Good.
I realize that none of my top three are that Complex but it's totally fine by me.

for me, it's leafpool. i have a personal attachment to her because i relate to her complex character, and i admire her morally goodness: she's kind, caring, compassionate, and selfless. her selflessness is both a weakness and a strength depending on the situation. and her being a medicine cat is an interest of mine because the concept of healing herbs interests me a lot. so overall, leafpool being my ultimate favorite for the entire series makes sense for me personally.

I have a personal attachment to Squirrelflight because I admired her for being so brave in the fire scene, where her character first really stood out to me- (interest). The same goes for Twigbranch and Rootspring where I really relate to them via their personalities and life experiences.

Crowfeather for me.
I haven't ever lost loved ones fortunately neither do I have a messy love life but I really relate to him in some ways. I know what it's like to be let down and coping with it by closing yourself off and falling down into a little dark hole. His character is so incredibly flawed and he always suffers consequences for his poor choices. With everything he's gone though I really enjoyed him bettering himself in his SE.
I have a pretty strong love of Hawkwing too. Once again I have not been though what he has but he's just normal good dude who makes mistakes and suffers the consequences. I admire how much he loved SkyClan and stuck with his clanmates through everything no matter how much pain he was going through. He also just reminds me of the best people I know.
And I obviously have to mention that Gray Wing won me over with his kindness.

I like Twigbranch probably mainly because of personal attachment, but I also like her because she is morally good and complex. She goes out of her way to help others and is persistent when it comes to something she believes in. My personal attachment started in book two of AVoS when she wanted to give her sister a feather and when she snuck out of camp so she could be useful. It continued well into the rest of the series when she became an indecisive adolescent to an adult who still made mistakes, but definitely grew from who she was.
Hollyleaf is one of the more complex characters of Warriors. I like her because her story is well-done and her redemption is realistic. I don’t really have a personal attachment to her or anything, but it was interesting watching her go through highs and lows. I also have mommy issues so I relate to that on a personal level, but would I be as forgiving as Hollyleaf? No.
Gray Wing is morally good. He is always caring for others. He is the most selfless cat there is. He was always there for cats, whether or not they were related to him or not: Fern Leaf, Thunder, his brothers, and more. He is the best dad and he deserved to have a life of his own. I also do have some personal attachment to him. I think he deserved so much better than he got.

I like Leafpool, at first, because of her love drama. LeafCrow, whatever its flaws may be, won me over because the whole relationship was so sweet. I can't really relate to her in her messy situation in OotS, but she has a wonderful personality, a good relationship with her family, and is delightful to read about.

Gray Wing, because he is just so good. He tries to do his best, and I got so attached to him, that I couldn't stop crying after his death.
