Kazan watched as a waitress approached Gema, and the Rockbender ordered some cake and more tea. When the lady left, he smiled and listened while Gema began to talk. “Well, you certainly put on a great show.” He commented, before letting her continue. He has been a fan of the Catgators for awhile now, so having the honor and privilege to have a conversation with a member of their team excited Kazan even more. “Hard work and consistency is the key to success.” He said with a nod of his head after Gema told him how she is always practicing and training.
When she asked if it was his first match, his eyes lit up even more, his smile widening slightly. “Yes! My first match in person, and the first time visiting this city.” He said, then added with a hint of embarrassment “I got lost on more than one occasion today” but then laughed off the embarrassment and ran a hand through his hair. “I’ve been a huge fan of the sport for years. So much so, that I have been training and practicing in the hopes that I would get a chance to play for a team some day.”
Kazan trailed off when the waitress returned with Gemas food, and then approached him with a smile and asked for his order. The man took a glance at how much money he had on him, frowned slightly at the meager amount, and then gave the waitress a smile. “Yes, I would like a small bowl of ramen and a cup of hot tea, please.” She nodded and headed to the kitchen to deliver his order. “You come here often? The service is quite well.” He commented to Gema, continuing the conversation.

Ryuu allowed his bird to return to her perch. This time she appeared alert and ready to maybe follow some orders. Ryuu waits a little bit before causally making his way across the street and walks over to one of the vendors. He goes over to one of the meat vendors and orders a cooked duck and pays the necessary coin for it. Ryuu hoped his bird was watching before walking over to his target, stops and takes a moment to tie his shoe. He whistles a little tune as he fiddled his with shoe before giving a sharp whistle. His bird known as Red flies down and starts cawing and using her claws against the merchant. The merchant tries to make the bird go away and ends up getting his hand pecked in the process. While the merchant was distracted, Ryuu takes this time to crouch forward and snatch a few sweets and a drink before slipping to the side, straightening himself up and walking off. After a another while, his bird backs off and goes flying after her owner. "That was to easy." He mumbled to himself. ( inky) |

Gema laughed lightly at his admission of getting lost, when she came to Republic city she'd been very young. So getting lost was never an issue for her, but it made sense. The city was very big and had a lot of alleyways and detours so it was easy to lose your way if you took a wrong turn. "You'll get used to it sooner or later. Getting lost can help you get used to it faster actually." The girl listened as he explained he was aiming to be on a team someday, so not only was he a fan but he was someone who wanted to join. "Oh yeah this is my favorite spot after games, a lot of the players come here actually. You just missed them by about ten minutes." The girl shifted a bit in her seat to give him more of her attention. "Ya know if you are looking to join a team there are plenty who are going to be doing tryouts by the end of the season. Have you ever played a probending game? I could always use a training partner if you wanted to practice." Her teammates weren't always available and it was always good to train with someone new. After all, you weren't always going against the same people in matches. "Maybe you can get a job at the stadium and work your way in later." Fireclaw The spirit watched everything unfold as she sat shifting her paws a bit, she'd chosen to take the form of a deerdog for now. So he paid for one thing but stole the others? Didn't make sense to her. why not pay for all of it then, or none of it? Well, either way maybe she could get him to give her some. Her stomach was rumbling and as a spirit, she didn't have any money to buy anything. So over to the man, she went letting out a soft bark and then a whine following shortly after. Her eyes looked at the food he held and she wagged her tail a little. Her head tilted as she sat down and waited for him to hand the food over. At least that was what she hoped he was going to do. Then again he'd just stolen a bunch of stuff so there was no telling what he would do. But she was banking on the fact that puppy dog eyes would work. Her eyes moved to the bird and her tail wagged a bit more in a greeting of sorts, silent but she was trying to let his bird know she wasn't a threat. Of course, she could have just said so but not everyone took kindly to spirits. Then again her she was a purely white deerdog, like that wasn't at least a bit odd. Hawkeyes258 |

Kazan grinned slightly when she said getting lost can help one get used to the city. “That is very true. Getting lost and making your way out can help you grow accustomed to the maze of streets and buildings. If one constantly gets lost and never learn however, then they probably aren’t the sharpest tool in the shed, if you catch my meaning.” Kazan said, finishing off with a small smirk.
When she told him that he just missed the other ProBenders, Kazan just shrugged his shoulders. “I got to meet one though, didn’t I? That’s good enough for me.” He said with a smile and let her continue talking. When Gema mentioned tryouts and him being her training partner for practice, Kazan smiled excitedly, also jumping up out of his chair in enthusiasm, though he refrained. “Are you serious?! I would love to! I mean, I would like that very much, thank you.”
Kazan smiled embarrassedly from his recent outburst of excitement, that drew a few looks their way from some of the other customers. After she suggested that perhaps he could get a job at the stadium, Kazan nodded his head slightly. ’I really could use some extra money, and having a job in the same place where I would train and practice would be very convenient.’ He thought to himself. Just then, the waitress showed up with Kazan’s bowl of noddles and his cup of tea. “Thank you.” He said, nodding his head to her in appreciation before starting to eat.

Ryuu was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard a bark. He turned around to see a deerdog looking expectantly at him. His bird red tilted her head to one side and then to the others. She could tell this was no ordinary animal. He turns his gaze to his meat and smiles softly. "I suppose you want a little piece huh?" Ryuu looks back at Red. "Do you mind sharing with our friend here?
Red ruffles her feathers but doesn't really say anything. Normally. she would be protective over her things but she could tell this one meant no harm. "Mmm odd." He remarked before tearing off a small piece and offering it to the animal. "There you go!"
