A Few Thoughts I Had While Reading Shadows on the Mountain

I had wondered if Range was Chase's father, when he spoke fondly of Prowl. And she assumed he was interested in her romantically, in turn making it an awkward reveal. Or Range did like her, but lied about Seek, and would have killed him secretly and make it look like something else did it.
I find it ironic that despite angry at Chase for taking Seek against his will and being aggressive towards Shadow, she's become my favorite PoV character. Definitely the most flawed of them all.
When there was a little glimpse of the big bad and Bramble described it as having scales *like* a snake, I was like "It's not just a giant snake? Is it a flipping DRAGON?!" But that was a fleeting thought and it would be way too silly and ridiculous. I wonder what it is though. Some sort of extinct giant snake?
