I personally hope the three still see Squirrelflight & Bramblestar as their parents. They raised them and if Warriors has any respect for adoption it only seems right. The Twigbranch case is very different because of the different circumstances but for the three I felt like it would have made more scence if they still considered SquirrelBramble their parents. I was really upset with Hollyleaf calling Leafpool her mother when she dies and her not giving Bramblestar a life.
Disclaimer: I'm not actually adopted so maybe I don't have the right to speak about this. Please let me know if I said something I shouldn't have.

We don't know about Hollyleaf, but the books already make it pretty clear that Lionblaze still sees them as his parents (he definitely still sees Bramblestar as his father, at least) while Jayfeather is the opposite.
And as someone who actually is adopted, there's absolutely nothing wrong with Hollyleaf acknowledging Leafpool as her mother and I really don't see why this should be a competition. Leafpool was also arguably the one whom Hollyleaf hurt the most, so of course she'd share some parting words with her just before dying.

Although Leafpool is their biological mother, Squirrelflight and Bramblestar were the ones to raise them.

why isn't ferncloud on this poll (im half joking tbh lol)
ferncloud raised them as babies becuase they needed milk, and squirrelflight didnt spend much time in the nursery as a result. squirrelflight was more of a mom during their apprenticeships and early warriorships. ferncloud deserves more credit.
leafpool was never their mom. she may have given them guiding words here and there, before and after the reveal, but that's all. she's not a mom-mom, like squirrelflight, and she didn't have a big partof their kithood like ferncloud.

I promise that wasn’t my intent. I wanted to express how I found the situation incredibly unfair to Squirrelflight for raising the three lovingly yet possibly only being second to them. I wouldn’t mind Hollyleaf having a touching last moment with Leafpool but coupling that with Hollyleaf not giving Bramblestar a life I felt like the Erins were telling us that Hollyleaf didn’t love them as much as Leafpool even though they were her parents in all but blood.

Adding onto this, I think Leafpool treated Jayfeather as her actual son more than any of her other kits. She's always the first to lose patience with him or give him lessons, and she helps him as both a mother (subconsciously) and mentor. Jayfeather notices how Leafpool acts really weird about kits, especially with Spiderleg, so I feel like because of this, Jayfeather and Leafpool probably have the closest bond together out of the other two. Hollyleaf and Lionblaze were never close to Leafpool, but, Hollyleaf was hurt the most by her.

Squirrelflight. Abandoning the people who raised you, took care of you, helped you when you were in need, and who gave you a good life in general just because they aren't related to you directly is really cruel.

I don't see what's wrong with having "two" mothers as long as the Three love both of them. After all, Lionblaze himself even thought Daisy and Ferncloud felt more like his mothers than Leafpool ever did. Though if I had to pick, I would say Squirrelflight.
(Also, Fallen Leaves mentions it's better to have two mothers than none) His direct quote: It seems to me that both of these cats loved you very much. Surely two mothers are better than none? And whatever you did before you came here, they must both hope that you are alive and safe.

I think it's silly to make them choose. Why can't BOTH be their moms?

Both, tbh. Like somebody said in the books, Leafpool's their biological so they probably feel some bond, and Squirrelflight raised them. If I had to choose, I'd say Squirrelflight, though

I'm sorry if I came off as aggressive, the competition comment was meant towards this type of discussion in general, not you/this topic specifically. I doubt Hollyleaf not giving Bramblestar a life means she doesn't love her foster parents anymore, though she definitely could've at least been mentioned at the ceremony. And like I said, Lionblaze still sees Bramblestar as his father, but SqH seems to imply that he doesn't see Leafpool as a mother and I feel like this makes sense, considering they were never close even before the secret was revealed, but he still defends her when it seems like Jayfeather is disrespecting her when they sit vigil for her. Speaking of, Jayfeather's is the most interesting because he apparently doesn't have any parents as far as s he's concerned. The bitterness towards Leafpool is still there, even after her death, yet he's also the one to take her passing the hardest and still loved her as a Clanmate and respected her as a medicine cat. I really like how all three of them don't see Leafpool the same way.

It doesn't mean he loved her any less, though considering how hard he took her passing and the fact that he's been cut off from both her and his sister due to StarClan being blocked, this no doubt complicated things even more for him.

I honestly think Jayfeather was just angry. Everything else in the books indicates he does see her as a mother figure. I very much view his words as a way for him to cope with her loss and try and distance himself from her because it's easier to do that and Jayfeather is notorious for coping poorly

*Ottersplash*i agree. u got a point there. jayfeather is like crowfeather. neither of them know how to show emotion properly (coping with hard to deal with feelings like loss, etc.), which results in lashing out, acting rude to hide the hurt, or acting a certain way that seems mean to the outside looking in. since he was around leafpool more than his siblings were, it's easier for him to see leafpool as a mom too.

I chose Squirrelflight for this poll because she (and Brambleclaw/star) raised The Original Three and should still be considered as their (adoptive) parents. But Leafpool will always be their biological mother (and Crowfeather their father). As to who the kits themselves see as true/real parents, that is entirely up to each of them personally.

It can be both and should be both if that’s what they want. The Three can decide who they refer to as their mother, or reject both of them too, it’s their decision and theirs alone. But in my honest opinion, they shouldn’t be expected to have to choose one over the other.
