I'm still waiting for my copy of it to arrive but amazon Germany has it already in stock somewhere in the country so that shouldn't take too long. I can't wait to read it myself and see Hawkfrost finally step up his manipulation game as there wasn't a lot of him doing so during the main series. He did a good job in his sister's Novella though.

Glad they didn't make Mudclaw a good guy. he's trash, just as he's always been. I actually think the graphic novel made him worse

I quite liked it. Not as much as I did ASiR, but it was still overall pretty good. I'm glad it portrayed Mudclaw as the petty cat he was and not some glorified hero. Seeing how Mudclaw took it through his own eyes was neat, and he might have had a point about Onewhisker being unfit for leadership as we see through Mudclaw's eyes that Onewhisker messes up often and asks for him, but also doesn't seem to take into consideration that he just got shoved into position and is still finding his balance as leader. I can definitely see where he was coming from in considering how shady the switch in deputies was, but it really proved that Tallstar made the right call in demoting him, given how Mudclaw reacted. It made me dislike Mudclaw I admit, but I still find him an interesting character nonetheless. There was also the relationship with him and Tornear, and Ashfoot got some pagetime which is always nice.
That, and the art was phenomenal (especially that one scene at the Moonpool), but that's nothing short of James.

I enjoyed it, it was nice to see Mudclaw's internal thoughts and struggles. I think he's probably one of my favorite morally gray characters now to date, and honestly just makes me like him even more. I'm still on the Mudstar boat, he would have been a pretty interesting leader to read about compared to the dumpster fire we got instead. I also liked some funny parts, like Hawkfrost making a pun joke, and also Mudclaw facepalming when Onestar fell off the rock at the gathering.

Have not read it yet, but from what I've seen so far I'm really glad they didn't turn him into a good guy.
Someone who tries to kill his own clanmates and sell his clan out to an evil RiverClan cat, simply because he didn't become leader is NOT a good guy.

I really enjoyed it - I'm surprised how much I liked Mudclaw's pov. It was interesting to see it through his eyes and even though he was severely wrong in his actions he was manipulated and genuinely thought he was duped. I loved his relationship with Tornear and that (unlike in the books iirc) Tornear literally fought his own brother to protect WindClan. The camp is very different then I imagined though.
Also, I wonder what he saw when he looked into the water in StarClan? What did Tallstar show him?
