I’m really sad that Erins don’t really develop family dynamics or anything in this series. I felt like there were so many missed opportunities. The most we get is relationships between siblings if they are main characters(and sometimes not even that).
Examples of under developed families:
Ivypool & Dovewing have near zero interaction with their mother and minimal with their father
Shadowsight & Bristlefrost don’t have many interactions with their siblings but at least Shadowsight has some with his parents
Brackenfur & Cinderpelt are the only ones out of Frostfur’s kits to have a relationship
Tinycloud & Sparrowpelt didn’t even acknowledge their granddaughters even though anyone who cares in the slightest about their children would have at least some reaction to meeting their long missing, dead child’s children
Shellfur complained about his paw after his brother died...
Graystripe has 0 interactions with his second litter, he just mentioned how proud he is of them in BS
Anyone else find this disappointing?

I agree, they also missed the chance of having Brightheart and Cinderpelt bond, they both got injuries and there was not a single scene with them being there for each other to cope.

I would like to correct you there on Whitewing -
Whitewing scolds Dovepaw about the beavers, thinking it’s her imagination, she is worried about Ivypaw’s “nightmares,” helps them with the tunnels, and helps Dovewing recover from Swoop’s death. There’s also a quote from her to them that I really like:
“You're both a long way from fine. I know there's something troubling you. I'm not going to ask what it is, if you don't want to tell me. But remember that I'm your mother. Nothing you say could ever shock me or make me love you less.“
She consols Dovewing in Dovewing’s Silence and tells her she wishes she told her about her powers.
When Dovewing “disappears” in AVoS, she is very worried over her. She is happy when she returned, and accepted the fact that she was moving to ShadowClan.

Literally always forget about IvyDove's parents. Whitewing is super background and Birchfall doesn't even act like a father. He sees Ivypool training in the Dark Forest and just says "oh cool hi". Like dude your daughter is training in Hell, cats have died here? Don't remember him interacting with either of them before that or after. I honestly don't like Birchfall lol.

fathers dont get to be shown as fathers majority of the time. either they're "off screen" fathers like graystripe and birchfall, or they're being yelled at for being bad dads like spiderleg and crowfeather...
the fact whitewing was never shown as friends with her direct kin squirrel and leaf...big waste.
family relationships barely get anything. some protags have generic and bland "nice sisters" and thats about it. this issue is even worse for platonic friendships. none of the protags have friends.

This is one of the reasons Po3 is my favorite arc. It's the only one that really focuses on relationship dynamics and character interactions. There's still the odd background character that's forgotten about, but for the most part it runs laps around the other arcs in this regard.
