I want to understand why Briarlight death cause anger onto the fandom. I stopped reading the arc when this happen. Prior this I remember many fans complained that due Briarlight condition she shouldn't survive that long in the wild. That in reality a cat wasnt really going to make it in the wild. to the point some pointed out she should have died in Bramblestar Storm.
Now that she died the fandom did not like it. Was it because she said she will walk again in Straclan? Isn't normal for someone who got paralyze miss walking? Or that exactly was the problem.
I really want to understand this whole situation.

I think it’s mostly because her situation was based off Vicky’s cousin who got paralyzed. Her cousin was paralyzed when she was drafting her story, so she decided to have her live long in honor of her cousin’s strength. And then after Vicky left the team due to her cancer, they killed Briarlight off. It just felt so wrong to me and a lot of others.

I suppose because Briarlight's death seemed so sudden and unfair. Plus a lot of people liked Briarlight whose death obviously made them angry.

idk. i mean. she lived a pretty damn long time for her condition, so i wasnt surprised at all when she finally bit it. it was inevitable.

In a book series where cats have an established social hierarchy and worship starry ancestors, I really don't get why people complained about Briarlight's lifespan being unrealistically long. This series isn't meant to be realistic.
