Yes for abolished, there would always be a second medicine cat to back them up, and if there isn’t one, make semi-medicine cat warriors if the medicine cat is a queen.

I think it's a good drama-inducing rule and is a pretty interesting part of Clan culture. I just wish there were some less arbitrary reasoning behind it, because as it stands, it's pretty dumb.

it should have been abolished ages ago...they have perma-queens for crying out loud. not every cat is going to be the same as moth flight. moth flight ruined so many lives with her stupid selfish rule. not everyone was gonna be like her. idk how tf starclan ever approved of her code in the first place.

Abolished.
Between permaqueens and the fact it has been proven through Leafpool and Yellowfang that moms can operate as medicine cats still...there's no point in it

Should be abolished as long as the medicine cat has an apprentice or there are other queens who could take care of her kits. And for toms it simply shouldn't have existed in the first place.

I feel like in ASC, the Erins will have Frostpaw fall in love, either with Flamepaw or someone in her Clan and the rule will be abolished by the end of the arc.

Needs to be abolished. Not only does the rule not have any practical reason to exist on an in-universe level, but we have had to deal with an "oh no, a medicine cat had kits!!1!" or "oh no! a medicine cat is in love with somebody!!1!" plotline for a majority of the series. While I haven't read Moth Flight's SE, I do believe that the circumstances that led to her creating that rule was very subjective to herself. Being the first med cat who lost her mate + had kits at a young age isn't something that applies to modern cats, as there has always been another med cat (anywhere in the clans) who could lend a hand and help out. Not to mention that there are plenty of cats who could help raise the kits; which is the point of a clan. Another thing is there are usually two or more medicine cats in a clan at once, especially in recent years. If one med cat got pregnant, or was "distracted" by their love (which makes no sense because med cats can still love friends and family), another med cat could step up while they dealt with that. If anything, the rule should be "dont have kits as a medicine cat unless you have a fully trained apprentice to take over while youre busy".

It should definitely be abolished! There can still be some drama created out of that as Warriors will find a way.

They should just abolish the code this arc tbh so if Frostpaw gets in a cross-clan relationship, at least they could explore cross-clan relationships without the code holding her and the other cat back.
