I know this has been posted multiple times, but I feel like making this anyways. Who are your favorite characters?
Cinderpelt: I like how she's understanding and compassionate, and accepted her future after she realized she can't be a warrior. Cinder is very mature, went through hardships without complaining, she's blunt if she has to be, sacrifices her own needs for the sake of the clan, responsible, kind, and wise. She's probably one of their best written characters in the series that wasn't ruined. My only complaint is that they should have taken out the annoying Cinderheart drama, but I still love Cinderpelt as her own character.
Hollyleaf: She was a very refreshing character to read about. I enjoyed her self-destruction, and I thought she had a fleshed-out personality. Hollyleaf was interesting, I liked her loyalty to the warrior code, and I enjoyed reading the pain through her eyes. I understood her trust issues, her hostility, and her pain. Hollyleaf went through a lot of shit in her life, and paid the price in a way by exiling herself, carrying that guilt until she met Fallen Leaves, who told her that she wasn't right for what she did, but gently accepted her as a friend. Her friendship with Fallen Leaves was great, I don't care if people complain about it being romantic, I really like these two, even if I see them as platonic more than romantic. They needed each other, and I'm glad they make each other happy. Hollyleaf came back a loyal cat, forgiving Squirrelflight and Leafpool for their lies, and ended up sacrificing her life for her Clanmate. She had an interesting story to me, a character who destroyed her own life due to her self-destruction, to realize she was wrong and made up for her mistakes, and died a loyal warrior. Sure, she could have been written better, but I'm still pleased with what we got. Hollyleaf was an interesting and a pretty intense character.
Dovewing: She's easily one of the worst written characters in the series, but I still like her. I relate to many of her flaws and attachments. Dovewing wanted friends, and the only one she thought who understood her was Tigerheart. The three only turned to her for the prophecy, and it strained her relationship with her sister. Because of this, she felt Tigerheart understood her the most. I don't think she ever truly felt like she belonged in ThunderClan, with the three using her for powers, and Ivypool becoming distant with her because of her jealousy. Dovewing was lonely, and people only liked her for her powers, and not for who she really is. Even though Tigerheart never treated her the right way, I understand why she's so attached to him. Dove had fun with him, and she felt like he understood her. He wasn't expecting anything from her; he just wanted to be with her. She tried to move on from him and do the right thing, and she tried to like Bumblestripe instead, but she can't force her feelings for Bumble, and it just didn't work out for them. Dove came back to Tiger after years of trying to move on, and they both had kits together. She ran off because she was scared of the consequences, but came back to keep her family together. She followed her heart, picked her new family and chose to be the mother of her kits. Around this time, Ivypool really didn't need her, and she wasn't close to her parents anymore. Dovewing was grown enough to choose her own path, and I'm glad she's happier now. I know she's done many stupid things, and Tigerheart may not treat her right, but she truly believes she did the right thing to keep her family together, and only returned because of Tigerheart, which shows just how much she cares about him. I understand why she decided to switch clans. It may be a jerk move to some readers, but she tried to help her clan for the prophecy so many years, was used as a pair of ears for her clan, really tried to choose her clan over Tiger, it just didn't work out, and it looks like she's fiercely loyal to ShadowClan. Dovewing is happy, and I feel like that's all that matters.
Leafpool: She's one of the few cats who learned from her mistakes and remained committed to her clan since she ran away. Leafpool is compassionate and became very mature later in the books, helping ShadowClan and isn't afraid to call out irresponsible leaders like Rowanstar. Leafpool trained several cats, she always continued to love even after how some cats held against what she did many years ago. She was willing to sacrifice her own place in StarClan for her sister, Leafpool owned up to her own mistakes, and still loves the Three even after they disowned her for lying to them and after what Hollyleaf almost did to her. She truly is one of the most lovable, kind, and patient cats, and I love her for this. Honestly, my only complaint is she should have had more flaws later on, but I don't mind. Leafpool is a fine, mature character, who went through so much crap in her life but matured and learned from her mistakes.
