How can this series take the turn for the worse for the books and maybe the fanbase? One way the series can go bad is a ship war poll, where there is a poll on the official website where we have to decide which mate a cat should choose (e.g. Dove with Tiger or Bumble, Squilf with Bramble or Ash) or who should be the next leader for a Clan. The fan base would go crazy and would turn out very political.

Oh god that would be horrible. Please don't give the authors or website developers any ideas.
An Erin makes a Tumblr account and adding in snippets of canon in some random textpost based on what the fans ask them on there. Kate has BlogClan already but on Tumblr it'd be 1000x worse.

Some of those already mentioned polls could really backfire if the subject is just too controversial.

The Erins showing bias towards certain characters in their writing. I've noticed in the later books how specific characters, usually former protagonists are placed on this pedestal by the general crowd of cats and it slightly bothers me.
