A lot of the Dark Forest trainees truly believed they were doing what was right for their clan, but there were times when the Dark Forest warriors tried to get some information out of them, like their own fighting moves, how their territory works, and even manipulating them to start a battle (ex: Ivypaw telling Firestar about the ShadowClan battle, when Russetfur lost a life and Firestar another)
So in a sense, I feel like they were being disloyal. I know they were manipulative, but a lot of them shared important clan secrets and trained with... Well, a bunch of villains! So of course their own Clanmates are going to be skeptical after they revealed the truth about training there, and I can't blame them.
You can argue it's not in the code, but they were still being dishonest with their Clanmates and even themselves. It was a dangerous situation they were all in, and even if they didn't know any better, even if they were manipulated, a lot of damage was still done, and they should have been more careful imo.

That makes sense. It's true that the Dark Forest "trained" Clan cats, but it wasn't just training; there were situations where it was plainly obvious that what they told them to do wasn't a good thing. They shared Clan secrets with villains, villains some experienced, and that's really... I wouldn't trust them, tbh

I think most of them weren't meaning to be disloyal, because they believed they were training to be better warriors for their Clan, and when they were revealing their secrets they thought it was so that the Clans could help each other, so they thought they were strengthening all the Clans against outside threats. However, their actions (showing others their battle moves, taking the other Clan cats and the Dark Forest cats on a tour of their territories) were certainly disloyal as they were supposed to put their Clans first, and it helped the Dark Forest cats when they attacked the territories, and they trained with villains that they must have grown up hearing the names of. But then, they were all pathetically naive because the plot demanded it, so not much I can say about that.
I don't really think it can be clearly said one way or the other, because they believed they were helping their Clans but in reality they were harming them, so they were disloyal not in thought but in deed.

They were being disloyal but without properly realizing it as is so often the case with getting manipulated/brainwashed into thinking that something is for the best, when that's clearly not the case at all. Most of the trainees were either young or impressionable and in some instances both but cats like Ratscar and Thornclaw had met (OG) Tigerstar before he died so I still don't understand how they thought he was up to any good or actually wanted to help them become better warriors. As Cloudy Sky already said, this probably happened purely just for the plot to move along how the authors/editors wanted/intended to, even if it was done rather poorly.

I think they just thought they were helping their Clan and in the end, paid the price for it as seen in The Last Hope and Dovewing's Silence.
Ivypool was really the only cat who seemed to be loyal to the Dark Forest but was actually loyal to ThunderClan all along. i like Ivypool. She helped Bristlefrost in The Place Of No Stars.
