introduction This is just a little place for Sky and I to rp a smaller little thing. xD We realized we took a big bite with our clan one x one and wanted something a bit more laid-back and not as... taxing? So this is our little plot thread and we're just hanging out, being our goofy selves. c: the plot Cat A and B have had a complicated relationship. They get on each other's nerves, bicker often, and seem to have nothing in common. Yet, the two have always had an unexplained attraction to each other. The two got together in what they both claimed was a moment of weakness. It was just meant to be one night, with nothing to come of it. What happens when a devastating rockslide wipes out Ridgeclan, and only Cat A and B along with a few others survive? And what if things are further complicated when Cat B is revealed to pregnant with Cat A's kits? characters
[ Cat A ] Ferretmask - Muscular pure white tom with amber eyes. He has a dark brown mask of fur across his eyes, and a white muzzle, and a ginger tail tip. Ferretmask is confident and flighty, with a love of freedom and general disregard for the rules. This young warrior can often come across as arrogant and flirty. He's an excellent warrior if you can keep him on task, and excels at fighting. He's a natural protector, and though he may not often share his private feelings, his actions will reflect his thoughts. [sky] [ Cat B ] Sablewish - a pitch black molly with thick, feathery fur. She has a single white paw and an opposing white ear - matched with her tail-tip. Her eyes are a vivid shade of green. She's always been an independent molly, with a strong head on her shoulders. Often times she can be a bit too prideful and refuse to accept help when she needs it. She's humorous and outgoing around those she grows close to though. Sablewish has some tall walls around her heart though. [blu]
Survivors; Nightfrost - A tall, muscular tom with snowy white fur mottled with dark gray, black, and ebony patches across his pelt. He has a long, thick coat and large paws, of Norwegian Forest descent. His eyes are a vibrant blue, bright against his mostly dark coat. Nightfrost is a kind, determined soul. The tom works hard and believes in respect, duty, and honor. He's loyal and honest, maybe a bit blunt at times. Trust is something he struggles with, as he's been hurt in the past and betrayed by his best friend. So the tom can be a bit closed off, especially about his life before Ridgeclan. [blu]
Lightleaf - A lithe tortoiseshell-and-black molly with deep blue eyes. Her black marked pelt is distinctively dappled, and she has white paw and a tail tip. This young queen is normally kind and compassionate, but can also be surprisingly fierce and protective when she needs to be. She's a perceptive cat with a big heart, and always has room for another cat to care for. Prior to the fall of the Clan, she was one of the Clan's best hunters. [sky]
Minnowpaw - Small in stature, which might be where she gets her name, this molly has a coat of silver fur. Black mackerel tabby stripes run across her form, only interrupted by cream underbelly, toes, and freckles beneath her eyes. Her tail and ear tips are completely black, along with a spot above her nose. She has dark blue eyes. Minnowpaw is innocent and sweet, a gentle soul who would give the fur off her back to help those in need. She's got a naivety about her that can get her into trouble, trusting the wrong folks. She wants to see the good in everyone. She can be rather curious. [blu]
Frogpaw - Pale brown tabby tom with olive green eyes. Frogpaw is showy, enthusiastic, and mischievous. He's always had a penchant for trouble, and an unrepentant joy from breaking rules. The one thing he does take seriously is becoming a warrior, however oddly he shows it. He can also be caring and reliable in the most unexpected times, and can surprise with his spontaneity. He has a tremendous leap, for which he was named. [sky] Kits; Cats Here

Sablewish near the old camp - with Nightfrost & Lightleaf A rattling cough burst from her chest, her body shaking as the black molly struggled to stand amongst the rubble. Her coat was covered in dust and her vivid green eyes were hazy with tears from all the particles that still lingered in the air. Sablewish tried to clear her vision with rapid blinks as she finished her coughing fit. With slow movements, her body aching, she managed to pad towards the edge of what remained of their camp. Boulders and smaller rocks were settled everywhere, crushing the bushes that used to guard them while they slept at night. The night air was cool against her pelt, the darkness pressing in around her on all sides.
"Hello?" she called out, her voice raspy due to her earlier coughing and dust inhalation. "Anyone?" her tone verged on desperation this time and the molly took an unsure step forward. The ground felt unstable beneath her paws and she instantly backed away, ears flattening to her skull. The sound of pebbles scattering caught her attention and she spun around as quickly as she could manage. Sablewish felt a flash of relief as Nightfrost came into view, supporting Lightleaf against his flank. "Oh thank Starclan," the young warrior gushed, rushing forward to meet her clan-mates. At least there were other survivors!
Minnowpaw trapped in the apprentice's den - with Frogpaw There was a lot of blood. Minnowpaw tiredly blinked her eyes open, the scarlet liquid seeming to surround her. Confusion and panic battled in her chest as she tried to get her bearings. What had happened? The molly couldn't seem to remember, her dark blue eyes gazing at the den uncomprehendingly. She lifted her head weakly, peering into the gloom. Her body felt numb, as though she was a visitor in her own body. This was probably why she didn't notice that her hind leg was currently trapped beneath a rock and was the reason behind the blood she was lying in. Her tired eyes locked on a familiar shape, squinting. "F-Frog... Fr-ogpaw?" she finally murmured weakly. Was he alright? What was going on? Why couldn't she sit up? Minnowpaw was terrified suddenly. Something bad had happened. She vaguely recalled screams and the cries of her den-mates.

Ferretmask | Slope Towards Camp Ferretmask shifted weakly as he came to, blinking the heavy darkness from his gaze. He felt heavy weight on top of him as he gazed blearily at the ruined camp, trying to remember what had happened. Why everything ached so badly. Then, he remembered. It had been as if the earth itself was bearing down upon them, the mountaintop crashing down mercilessly upon the unsuspecting Clan. He remembered the surge of rocks and dirt that seemed to smother everything, no matter where they tried to escape. It had been terrifying.
He let out a low groan as he tried to rise to his feet, hearing the clattering of small rocks and pebbling falling from his back as he rose. Thankfully, the massive rocks had missed him, but he'd gotten caught in the deluge of dirt, which now piled around his lower back and hindquarters. He would be able to get out of it, though it was tough. With a massive effort, he heaved himself clear of the debris, shaking out his dirt-stained white pelt. Slowly, he shook out each limb, making sure nothing was broken, and let out a sigh of satisfaction when he decided nothing was. He began to pad back up to where the Camp would be, knowing that the shelter of the dens would be the only place any cat could have survived.
Lightleaf | Camp | Nightfrost & Sablewish "Sablewish!" Lightleaf called out, a tremble to her voice as she hobbled forward as fast as she could to meet her clanmate. Her heavily pregnant form lurched unsteadily on the crumbling earth, but her eyes brimmed with happiness at the sight of another survivor. A heavy brown haze clung to the camp as a result of the dirt and sand that had been whipped into a frenzy, and it had still not yet settled. The tortoiseshell molly came to a stop in front of Sablewish, and touched her nose to the younger cat's ear. "I didn't think anyone else had made it out. Everyone was swallowed so quickly..." Her voice shook as she recalled the terrible events that had just taken place. She looked exhausted, both from the effort of surviving the disaster to freeing herself afterwards, all while carrying kits. Nevertheless, she looked determined, as if Sablewish's appearance had strengthened her further. "Did you find anyone else?" She pressed. There had to be other survivors! She refused to believe otherwise.
Frogpaw | Apprentice's Den | Minnowpaw The small patch of ragged brown fur that resembled a cat finally moved at the sign of sound. Then, a low moan emanated from it as green eyes opened, glowing in the darkness. Frogpaw looked around wearily, trying to remember what happened, and horror mingled in his gaze at the sight of the still bodies lying around him. Some had been caught under rocks, others consumed by the dirt, but it had seemed like no other apprentice had survived. The apprentice's den was well sheltered, but a particularly large rock had crashed into the ceiling of the den, sending a shower of debris down onto its residents. It was the collapsing den that had doomed most of the cats there. Small glimmers of light leaked through the gaps in the den roof, and Frogpaw was vaguely aware of an ominous creaking sound as the den struggled to hold the weight upon it.
Then, he spotted a shape that was moving as well, and some relief crept back into his paws. "Minnowpaw!" He called out weakly. One of his denmates was alive! They were both battered and bruised, but they were breathing, and just knowing that he wasn't alone in this made him feel better already. He struggled to his paws, then began to make his way over to his denmate, wincing at the noticeable limp. "Are you okay, Minnowpaw? Are you hurt?" He asked, eyes wide. It was difficult to tell in the darkness, but there was definitely something on top of his denmate. As he peered closer, he could see that it was some of the wreckage of the den. "Don't worry, I'll get you out of here." He mewed reassuringly, though internally, he wasn't entirely sure how.

Sablewish near the old camp - with Nightfrost & Lightleaf The molly could have let out a cry of relief at the cry of her name, as though that alone confirmed that the two felines weren't figments of her imagination. The heavily pregnant Lightleaf pushed forward and Sablewish met her, pressing her nose against the older she-cat's shoulder and taking in her dusty but familiar scent. "I'm so glad you two are safe," she mewed, before breaking out into some short coughs. Her gaze skimmed over her clan-mates, searching for wounds. There seemed to be some mild scratches on the both of them but if there was more damage, it was covered in dust. Another blessing to thank Starclan for. At Lightleaf's question, Sablewish shook her head, grief clouding her green eyes. "No... no one yet," she whispered, casting a worried glance at Nightfrost who was trying to peer through the rubble that covered camp. "Should we go looking? The ground is unsteady in some areas..." she admitted, lifting her white paw before setting it back down anxiously.
Nightfrost near the old camp - with Lightleaf, Sablewish, & Ferretmask "Yes. If there is any chance of life in there, we should help," Nightfrost said decisively, gazing at the two mollies at his side. He didn't want to risk Lightleaf's health by sending her back into camp to search for survivors but this was an all paws on board sort of situation. He opened his mouth to speak but paused when he heard a branch snap somewhere off to their left. The large tom let out a growl, the fur along his spine rising as he turned to face whatever potential danger came at his clan-mates. He was sore from the rockslide and had a few scratches and decent gash on his side, but he wouldn't let any of that hinder him.
Luckily, a feline form appeared out of the ferns, the white and brown shape of Ferretmask greeting them. Relief pulsed through his chest at the sight of another one of his clan mates alive and on their paws. "Ferretmask!" he called to get the younger tom's attention, taking a few steps towards the warrior in case he needed some help walking. Minnowpaw trapped in the apprentice's den - with Frogpaw The sound of Frogpaw's voice and the sight of him hobbling over to her had her throat aching with the force of her relief. She wasn't alone in this dusty, dark den. She tried to comprehend his words but couldn't feel any pain, though she still couldn't manage to sit up either. "I... I don't know," Minnowpaw whimpered, unable to answer the tom. Though her concern for his limp grew by the second. "What about you? Are you hurt?" she asked, a high note of panic in her tone. The apprentice tried to shove her forepaws under herself, her body trembling with the effort. Slowly she managed to lift her upper body a bit, peering at Frogpaw with tired blue eyes. She hadn't done much but already felt ready to fall back asleep. "We have to get out-" she mewed, interrupted by a series of sneezes and coughs.

Ferretmask | Camp | Sablewish, Nightfrost, Lightleaf At the sound of his voice, Ferretmask felt hope stir inside him at the thought that his clanmates had survived. He looked up over the smaller ridge and started towards the group of cats near the camp. "Nightfrost!" He called back. "I'm fine." He added as the white warrior started towards him. "I was just hit by the dirt, thankfully." His amber gaze swept warmly over the small group, finally arriving to rest on Sablewish. Sablewish! She made it out! He paused for a moment, as if he wanted to say something to her, and then finally just decided to dip his head. "I'm glad you all made it out safely." He meowed solemnly.
Things had always been...complicated...between Sablewish and himself. The two hadn't gotten along particularly well since they were apprentices. It seemed as if they were always bickering. Yet, the young warrior felt an unexplainable yet unmistakable pull towards the black warrior, a feeling he suspected she shared. A feeling confirmed that night. He still remembered the look in her emerald eyes as she had gazed at him, with a look she'd never given him before...He shook the conflicting thoughts out of his head and turned towards the camp, gaze bleak. "How could any cat have made it through this...?" He mewed weakly.
Lightleaf | Camp | Sablewish, Nightfrost, Ferretmask Lightleaf paused for a moment, her blue eyes clouding as she considered the safety of her kits, battling with the distress of the thought of clanmates who needed help. Finally, her gaze cleared, replaced by decisiveness. "Yes. Let's go look." She mewed. She would never forgive herself if some cat died because she hadn't stepped in. "I don't think the rocks are going to come again, but we should be careful just in case." She added with a nervous glance back up the mountain. She looked around camp, then nudged Sablewish towards the apprentice's den. "How about there? It looks mostly intact, some of the apprentices could have made it through. Unlike the other dens, it's not..." She broke off and shuddered. She didn't want to say the word crushed.
Frogpaw | Apprentice's Den | Minnowpaw Frogpaw couldn't help but be touched by her concern for him, despite her much worse position at the moment. "I'm okay, Minnowpaw." He assured her, briefly touching his nose to her ear. "Let's get you out of here." He grunted, eyeing the wreckage that lay on her. He reared onto his hind legs, resting his forepaws against the debris. He unsheathed his claws and sank them into the soft earth beneath them to anchor him in place. "Let me know if anything hurts, and I'll stop right away." He instructed, green eyes narrowed in concentration. Slowly, bunching his muscles, he strained forward to begin the process of removing the weight off of her body.

Sablewish near the old camp - with Nightfrost, Ferretmask, & Lightleaf The sound of Ferretmask's name had the black furred molly snapping to attention, her eyes frantically searching for the source of Nightfrost's calls. That familiar voice brought a relief so profound it nearly knocked the feline off her paws, her body trembling as her green gaze slid over the mainly white tom, his fur now stained brown with dirt and dust. Sablewish felt her throat tighten, a heavy weight pressing against her chest. There had always been bad-blood so to speak between her and Ferretmask. They'd never been able to get along and had often driven their clan mates mad with their bickering and name-calling.
Something had changed though, as the seasons passed and they grew older. There was something between them... and the sight of his stupidly handsome face nearly sent her heart into flight. "Ferretmask..." she whispered, almost inaudibly before she took a step towards the tom. Sablewish just wanted to press her nose against his fur and take in his scent, try and imagine that all this chaos hadn't happened, that it was all a bad dream. Part of her wished she was back in that hollow, under the stars with her "enemy"... "We're glad you're alight," she murmured, a bit awkwardly, as she turned to face the others, trying to get her head back in the game.
Casting a glance at the apprentice's den, as Lightleaf suggested, Sablewish resisted a surge of grief. The rest of the camp was completely hidden beneath rocks and debris. If there were any survivors, it would be there. "It's worth a try," she tried to sound braver than she felt, glancing at her clan-mates dismally. It wasn't as though they had much choice. Carefully the black molly picked her way across the ground, taking care where she put her paws. Nightfrost near the old camp - with Lightleaf, Sablewish, & Ferretmask Nightfrost dipped his head in silent acceptance at Lightleaf and Sablewish's decision. The apprentice's den was the only den that hadn't been too badly damaged, so there could be life within. The tom dearly hoped they would find their young ones alive and well. The mottled tom padded after Sablewish, carefully edging in front of the younger feline. If anything were to happen, he'd rather take the brunt of it. He was the oldest of the remaining cats after all and the others had much more of their lives still left to live.
As he grew closer to the apprentice's den, he heard a strangled cry followed by whimpering coughs. "There's definitely someone alive in there!" he called back, hurrying his steps until he reached the edge of the den. The entrance was collapsed, covered with dirt and rocks. Nightfrost searched for another point of entry, his blue eyes scouring the wreckage. Luckily one of the larger rocks had torn a hole in the side of the bush, leaving an opening. An actual bit of luck amidst all this tragedy. Though to be fair, he was much to large to fit in the space. Instead he poked his head in, barely able to spot anyone with the gloom as his eyes took a few moments to adjust. "Hello?" he called into the den, the scent of blood and dust in the air. Minnowpaw trapped in the apprentice's den - with Frogpaw The apprentice became still as Frogpaw analyzed where she was trapped, trying not to be in the way or hinder him in any way. She felt mostly numb, the pain still not settling in quite yet. "Right, okay, l-let's do this," she murmured, determination filling her young face. Her forepaws dug into the dirt, shoulders tensing as she braced herself to pull out from beneath the log. When Frogpaw began to shift the weight, the first shot of pain hit her, excruciating. She tried to resist the cry that bubbled up in her throat but it wrenched out of her. "I'm fine," she mewed hurriedly, worried that her den-mate would stop. She didn't want to be left behind. StarClan, she didn't want to die here! Whimpering quietly, Minnowpaw tried to claw her way out from under the weight as Frogpaw lifted, ignoring the pain to the best of her abilities. She was so focused on her task, she barely heard the call of another voice. "D-did you hear that...? Hello?" she asked, resting for a moment, her ears straining.
