SANDYNOSE leaving camp / with darkwater Sandynose beamed. "Great! That's what I'm here for!" She began to trot in circles around the other molly as they both headed for the camp's entrance. "I know fishing takes a lot of concentration. I've seen how focused you guys get when you're staring into that water. I once saw a fisher at the Vanishing Pools stay perfectly still for almost two hours, eyes fixed on the rippling surface, one paw poised above the water, ready to strike at a moment's notice!" She leaped forward, pouncing on a tuft of beach grass to emphasize her words. She glanced back at Darkwater, tail swishing from side to side. "But then an apprentice snuck up behind him and startled him so bad he fell over into the tidepool!" She laughed. "He was so annoyed! Although it was Ceruleantide, and I think that's just his face, isn't it?"
Sandynose stopped abruptly, frowning. "Wait, what was I saying? Oh, yes!" She turned her face up toward the late-afternoon sun and took a deep breath of the salty sea air. "Anyway, what I was getting at was, I know you get super intense when you're fishing, so that's why I'm coming along. I'll make sure nothing dangerous sneaks up on you and breaks your concentration!" Realizing she had accidentally gotten several paces ahead of Darkwater while she was talking, the taller warrior slowed her pace to match her companion's stride, letting Darkwater take the lead. "So, where are we going, Darkwater?"

ใ Dandelionfur ใ 25 moonsโ โ โshe-catโ โ โheterosexualโ โ โguard** A muscular, off-white she-cat with dark yellow eyes.
Dandelionfur is an slightly off colored she-cat. Her fur has a light tint of gray to it that can be mainly seen on the tip of her tail. This she-cat tends to have slightly less than perfectly groomed fur. While she takes time out to rid her coat of as much sand as she can, Dandelionfur tends put off styling it properly. One can often find parts of her fur sticking up randomly in various parts of her pelt. It all depends on how she slept that day or how intensive her duties to the clan were that day. Her eyes are a deep yellow, ones that range closer to a shade of calculating amber rather than a color of warm honey. She has broad shoulders and well defined muscles from the time she dedicates to serving her clan. Her voice is smooth and calm, perhaps taking the place of that warm honey that is missing from her eyes.
The first impression one usually gets from this she-cat is one of seriousness. Which isn't entirely wrong. Dandelionfur is a dedicated warrior and a hard worker who either pours her whole self into something or gives nothing at all. To this she-cat, the actions she takes are a better form of communication than her words. Dandelionfur is terribly honest, coming off as blunt most often than not, and she has a difficult time putting her feelings into words. This she-cat would much rather put her life on the line for someone then to try and communicate verbally how much they mean to her.Despite how much energy she puts into her work and clan, Dandelionfur is not all work with no play. She enjoys quiet moments of peace with those close to her as well as admiring the beauties of the territory. From the flowers that bloom to the way sunsets paint the sky, Dandelionfur is known to take the time to enjoy them. She also really enjoys swimming whenever the chance appears. none but openโ โ โopen to family c:โ โ โnone brambleflight
ใ Turtlepaw ใ 7 moonsโ โ โshe-carโ โ โunsureโ โ โHunter apprentice** A pretty dilute calico she-cat with light blue eyes and large ears.
Turtlepaw is a relatively tall she-cat. She has long limbs and slender build. Her fur is short and sleek, always neatly groomed. Turtlepaw is dedicated to keeping her fur neat but she does have a tendency to overgroom herself in times of extreme stress, even going so far as to loose tufts of fur if not stopped by someone. Her coat is a dilute calico, with big patches of gray and orange splashed rather sparingly over the her cream colored pelt. Her eyes are a light blue. She has large ears with noticeably round points.
Turtlepaw is known for being a bit timid. Far from the bravest cat in the clan, Turtlepaw is cautious of any situation that presents itself as dangerous. She isn't a cat who takes risks and prefers to think things through before leaping into any action. As a hunter, it makes her quitte effective as her patience allows her to going after her prey with a plan in mind. But when plans go haywire, Turtlepaw isn't a good improviser. Overall, Turtlepaw is a friendly cat. She isn't judgmental and tends to welcome others with open paws. Edging on being an overthinker, she does try to take the emotions of other cats into consideration and can be quite empathetic. A big downfall of hers though is how she deals with stress. Stress gets to her rather easily and when overwhelmed, she tends to have trouble releasing it. Often times, lingering stress takes the form of her over grooming her fur. none but openโ โ โopen to any family c:โ โ โnone brambleflight
ใThornstrikeใ 34 Moonsโ โ โTomโ โ โBisexualโ โ โGuard** A scruffy, muscular golden brown tom with large ears and bright pale green eyes. He has a scar on the bridge of his nose and on his shoulder.
Thornstrike is a large, burly tomcat. His scruffy long fur only adds to making this tom look bigger than an average sized cat. His pelt is a dark golden brown and pretty much a solid color aside from some minor discoloration around his muzzle. As a sign of his past, he does have a couple scars, one across the bridge of his nose and another larger one that spans over his shoulder blades. His eyes are a brilliant green, airing on the side of minty rather than dark like a forest. His voice is deep with a small twinge of gravel to it.
A proud and arrogant warrior, Thornstrike holds himself to high standards. His need to be the best and project the best often lead him to being overly competitive and just generally rough around the edges. His tongue can be sharp and sometimes he thinks before he speaks, leading him to cause more damage to a situation than he originally intended. Despite all this, Thornstrike is a loving cat. He cares deeply for those close to him and often feels heavy responsibility for keeping them safe and happy. While his tongue can be sharp, it can be as equally soft. Dedicated and strong, he is a loyal cat through and through. Unfortunately for him though, his size and large paws make him painfully clumsy. He tries to hide this fact by being as conscious of his movements as possible.
Squirrelmist (?)โ โ โFather of Lotuspaw and Barracudapaw (??) โ โ โnone brambleflight
ใ Seagullswoop ใ 20 Moonsโ โ โTomโ โ โBisexualโ โ โFisher** A whitish gray tom with black bengal markings and yellow eyes. His right ear is torn at the tip.
Seagullswoop is an average sized cat. His pelt is a very pale gray, verging on the edge of being white. His frame is built rather sturdy. Though not as muscular as some cats, he looks far from frail or long limbed. His front paws have noticeably long claws. His eyes are a vibrant and solid yellow in color. Due to a dayout incident gone wrong during his apprenticeship, his right ear is torn at the very tip. It all happened because of an unfortunate run in with a mean crab and panic that set in after.
This tom is often a friendly face to find. Seagullswoop is very outgoing and social, often liking to mingle amongst large groups of his clanamates, even if the spotlight isn't on him. Generally laid back, it is difficult to annoy or anger him. Seagullswoop likes to look at the world through a rose colored lens, trying to both see the bright side to everything and everyone and often times ignoring the more serious tones of life. He has difficulty processing heavy emotions, which can be quite unhealthy. He tends to bottle the negative things up and store them away to deal with in his own time, usually in an unhealthy overflow of emotions when the bottle finally lets loose.Ever the romantic at heart, Seagullswoop is constantly on the lookout for his one true love. Unfortunately, a deep seated fear of picking the wrong cat and emotional vulnerability have left him with a commitment issue. He's trying his best to fight it but the tom's default setting is still currently set to flight rather than fight. at the moment it is Sharkrunnerโ โ โopen to familyโ โ โnone brambleflight
ใ Puffinpaw ใ 8 moonsโ โ โshe-catโ โ โheterosexualโ โ โGuard apprentice** A fluffy, dark blue-ish gray she-cat with a white belly and striking amber eyes.
Round and far from the tallest warrior, Puffinpaw is a very fluffy, long-haired she-cat. She is short and stout with a lean build hidden underneath all the fur. Her pelt is a dark gray with a tint of blue in it. The color is solid except for the white that runs from her chest down to her belly. Another noticeable feature of hers is her large fangs that protrude ever so slight from her mouth. Her eyes are also a deep amber.
Puffinpaw is energetic and a bit rebellious. This small cat seems to have her own set of morals already in place and tends to act on them more often that not, which sometimes conflicts with what others advise her to do. The rebellion doesn't come from a place of malintent though. Puffinpaw usually rebels with the intent of making things easier or doing the right thing. It's almost always to help rather than to hurt. Unfortunately, she tends to bite off more than she can chew with some of her decisions. Luckily, this she-cat has the courage to take on whatever repercussions come her way. Courageous or simply being foolish is definitely debatable but regardless, Puffinpaw won't back down from a challenge nor take things lying down. Full of playful energy, Puffinpaw is still very much a kit at heart and isn't going to let pride or growing up stand in the way of her having fun from time to time. none yetโ โ open to family c:โ โ โnone brambleflight
ใ Beefeather ใ 30 moonsโ โ โTomโ โ โHeterosexualโ โ โCollector** A tabby orange tom with white paws, muzzle and light green eyes.
Short-furred and sleek, Beefeather has a fairly average build for a CoastalClan cat. His pelt is a deep orange with even darker, rusty orange stripes that weave all through his fur in a rather common tabby fashion. The only break from the orange is the small patches of white that occur on his muzzle and paws, both areas looks as if they were simply dipped in the differing color. His eyes are a pale green and even seem to hold just a very soft tint of blue to them, making his irises close to the color of seafoam.
Soft is an easy way to describe Beefeather. He is kind-hearted and caring, there for whatever cat needs him to be. Beefeather has such a kind disposition that his greatest weaknesses are being a pushover and being naive. Trusting and gullible, he would fall for nearly any trick. That is bad enough on it's own but worst of all, he would likely blame himself for the mistake rather than those that used him in the first place. Beefeather is his own worst critic. The tom also has a bit of a distaste for violence and prefers to avoid it whenever he can. However, when he is backed into a corner, he is a surprisingly capable fighter. noneโ โ โopen to familyโ โ โnone brambleflight

( brambleflight if your characters are accepted, beefeather could be sandynose's brother if you like c: also, turtlepaw and barracudapaw might have a cute "odd couple" dynamic, either as friends or something more. i see that turtlepaw is quiet and patient, which could serve as a complement to barracudapaw's brash and competitive personality. they could balance each other out nicely or promote growth in one another. just a suggestion I thought I'd throw out there. up to you, ofc! ^^ )

(I'll throw out a few starters c: ) Dandelionfur - Camp - OPEN Dandelionfur jumped down from the piece of driftwood that she had been perched on for most of the day. The feline gave a long stretch, loosening herself up after sitting in a specific position for sometime. She didn't mind the days when she was assigned to watch over the camp but keeping to one spot did make her feel a bit cramped. At least she had the flower gathering to look forward too. Dandelionfur wasn't particularly focused on the mixing and mingling aspect. Instead, the she-cat simply looked forward to getting some down time in the lovely cove. The way the stars reflected off the water and the soft sand were things that the she-cat enjoyed. Plus she'd get to take a flower back to her nest afterwards. Surely, the flower gathering would be a fun time, even for the she-cat who so heavily dedicated herself to her work.
Taking a rare moment, Dandelionfur sat down to groom her in an anticipation of the evening to come.
Turtlepaw - Camp - Open As it grew later in the day, Turtlepaw sat in camp after prior training. Sitting on the soft grass of camp, she stared rather intensely at a small rock that she had purposely placed in front of herself. Still a relatively young apprentice, there was plenty that the she-cat needed to work on with her hunting and she was well aware of it. She was aware of it even more so after doing poorly on her last hunt. She had been rather embarrassed when she had caught a mouth full of sand rather than a bird. Turtlepaw frowned and crouched down as she looked at the rock as mock prey. She just needed to work on keeping her tail from sweeping over the ground constantly.
Thornstrike - Clearwater Beach - OPEN The strong golden tom padded quietly along the sand, watching the tide as he did. So far his day had been rather quiet. A simple guard shift like any other. Still, he took as seriously as always, being ever vigilant. He finally came to a stop on the beach, sitting down in a sunny spot as he watched the waves. Thornstrike flexed his claws, enjoying the way the sand felt beneath them. He was careful to sit back far enough on the shore to avoid the water touching his paws. Thornstrike disliked getting his fur wet, especially without reason. Typically the tom only swam when he had to or on hot days when his thicker fur made him overheat. The cool water could be very relieving in that sense but on this current afternoon, Thornstrike preferred to keep his scruffy pelt as dry as possible.
Beefeather - Camp - Open Beefeather padded into camp with a small bundle of basil in between his jaws. The collector had been on a short walk through the territory and had decided to make himself useful by picking up a few leaves of the fragrant and versatile herb. He took the time to drop it off properly at the medicine cat den before trotting over to where his nest was placed. Unsure where or if he was needed, he settled down in his nest for a small break after his trek out of camp. He curled his tail over his paws as his gaze flickered between the camp exit and the freshkill pile as he tried to decide on whether to head out on another patrol before it got too late or to get some freshkill and settle down before the Flower Gathering that would be taking place.
Puffinpaw - Sea Star Grove - Open Puffinpaw padded along the flat rocks that line the tide pools. The young apprentice had wandered out of camp not long ago to adventure around the territory. She had just wanted to stretch her legs for a bit and ended up making her way down to Sea Star Grove. The area seemed peaceful enough with the tide low and the pools filled with water. She ventured out a little further before laying down on one of the warm rocks that had a gape that opened up into a small pool. Puffinpaw laid at the water's edge, letting her paws dip lightly in the water while she stared down into it, admiring the starfish that made it's home inside.

( apprentice shenanigans, anyone?? o: ) BARRACUDAPAW in camp / with turtlepaw "Ow, fish guts!" Barracudapaw hissed and took a step back, shaking one forepaw. She had nearly tripped over the rock her fellow apprentice was studying so intently. The hunter was being so still and so quiet Barracudapaw hadn't even seen her until it was nearly too late. She tilted her head, a frown creasing her features. "Uh, Turtlepaw? What are you doing?" She questioned in an accusatory tone. Wait. That sounded wrong. "I mean, what are you doing?" She tried again, adding what she hoped was a politely curious lilt to her voice.
Lotuspaw was always going on and on about the importance of tone. 'It's not always what you say, it's how you say it.' Bah, as if. They're just words. But what did she know? Her sister was the social butterfly, not her. Lotuspaw made talking to other cats and not terrifying them in the process look easy. Perhaps showing interest in another cat's hobby was the key here. Barracudapaw scowled down at Turtlepaw, tail-tip twitching. "Are you trying to attack that rock?"

~Driftpaw / Seastar Grove / With Puffinpaw~ Driftpaw wandered the beach, eyes squinting as she scoured the sand for a new trinket for her nest. Perhaps another shiny pebble?... No, if she collected many more rocks her nest would end up a lumpy mess. Lifting her eyes to the horizon, she spotted the beginnings of Seastar Grove and grinned. If she could find a nice dried starfish that would be a perfect addition! Excited to start searching, she raced towards the beginning of the tidal pool.

Darkwater - Outside of Camp - w; Sandynose (Tealraven)
The fisher walked in silence alongside Sandynose as her clanmate continued talking. With as much as she can talk without even stopping for breath, I'd bet she would make a great swimmer - she could hold her breath forever! The gray tabby reflected, both slightly annoyed and moderately impressed. When Sandynose finally stopped talking after her story about Ceruleantide, Darkwater's ears perked up. Taking a deep breath, the molly had just settled into enjoying the sound of, well, nothing when the guard started up again. Darkwater felt her eye twitch involuntarily. It's fine, she's just excited, tonight's a big night... The air hissed out of her lungs as the blue-eyed molly forced her tone to stay even. "Thank you, Sandynose, for taking my concentration so seriously." By never assigning her an apprentice, her brother had surely been keeping Darkwater's best interest in mind (not to mention the spirit of the poor apprentice that would have ever been put under her). The fisher had only just been able to get a grip on patience, and only recently even dared to dip her paw into the pool of understanding. Feedback over the moons had made her aware that she was, how had they put it? Oh yes, "a sour old crab." After some silent brooding, Darkwater had decided she didn't want to be a crab anymore. At least, not a sour old one. Sandynose was really putting the 'new Darkwater' to the test. Maybe that was a good thing?
Speaking for the first time since they left camp, Darkwater looked over at Sandynose who had slowed down to walk alongside her. "We're heading to the Vanishing Pools." Turning her head to look forward again as they continued through the territory. "Hopefully we'll have luck and I won't end up falling in like Ceruleantide." She snorted. She had to admit, she kind of wished she had seen it happen. A soft purr escaped her throat at the mental image.

Turtlepaw - Camp - w/ Barracudapaw The concentration of the young apprentice suddenly broke as the other apprentice nearly tripped over the rock that she had been focusing on. Turtlepaw broke her hunting crouch and sat up with a small frown finding its way onto her expression. She immediately felt guilty for being the reason her clanmate had hurt herself. Turtlepaw parted her jaws to apologize but the soft-spoken apprentice didn't get the chance to before Barracudapaw questioned her. The accusation in the other apprentice's tone made Turtlepaw shuffle her paws timidly. As Barracudapaw tried to correct herself, Turtlepaw tilted her head slightly, realizing perhaps she had misunderstood the other she-cat's tone. However, that thought flew out the camp as she caught sight of Barracudapaw's scowl.
"Oh uh no I was... I was just pretending it was prey.... my last hunting trip didn't go so well so I was just practicing my crouch a little." she admitted, shrinking a little. Turtlepaw shuffled her paws again. "Sorry if I was in your way. Is your paw alright?" Feelings of intimidation aside, she still felt responsible for Barracudapaw nearly tripping on the rock and had noticed the way she had shook her paw. Suddenly realizing someone else could still step on it, she slowly reached out a paw to pull the rock towards herself.
Puffinpaw - Sea Star Grove - w/ Driftpaw Puffinpaw broke her gaze away from the starfish as the sound of pawsteps caught her attention. Jumping up to her paws, she swiveled her head around to locate the source of the steps until her gaze locked onto Driftpaw. She grinned, excited to have someone joining her. "Hey Driftpaw!" she shouted to get the other apprentice's attention. The short ball of fluff that was Puffinpaw began to bound over to greet her clanmate. As she reached Driftpaw's side, she found herself panting slightly. It was easy for any exert of energy to make Puffinpaw heat up in this current weather thanks to her long fur. "What are you doing out here?" she asked curiously.
(little blu โฅ I'm up for Thornstrike being their sibling c: also i realize now that I need to put a bit of history for some of my characters so I'll add that to their forms when I move them over to the joining page cx i apologize since i might make up a couple dead family members for some of my cats

The tom genuinely couldn't decide whether he felt like a weight had been lifted off of his shoulders or if he felt the pressure of guilt lying heavy on him now. Nautilusstar was the leader, his clan-mates looked up to him - or they were supposed to. He shouldn't whine about his duties to his deputy like an apprentice with their chores. His shoulders tensed as a sense of failure cramped in his gut. Daystar had to have made a mistake in naming him deputy - this couldn't be the path he was destined to walk. If it was, wouldn't he be more natural at it? Planning events for his clan shouldn't be this much of a burden, they were clan traditions and important! His negative thoughts continued to poke at his wall of self-esteem, pushing his ears flat against his skull, as if that would help tune them out.
Pearlwave's touch was sudden, seeing as Nautilusstar had been lost in his own thoughts. His glassy eyes sought hers in the afternoon light, relaxing once he realized she meant to help him groom. Heat seared his ears as he licked at his chest fur in embarrassment. The feline was one he considered close - a friend? - almost like another sister but he should have been able to care for himself. Still, he didn't shoulder her away or fight the molly, allowing her to help wash his dull white coat. "Thanks," he muttered, his face set in it's usual scowl but appreciation glimmered in his eyes.
His deputy's comforting yet stern words resonated with the leader and he took a deep breath. The Flower Gathering was nearly upon them and they'd done all they could to prepare. He really should try and let go of the stress that the mixer inspired in him but another part of him knew that he wouldn't be able to truly relax until the night was over. His ears perked at the mention of designating teams to help finish the preparations for the Games. Nautilusstar genuinely hadn't considered asking his clan-mates for assistance - mostly because he didn't want to pull them away from their other duties. Asking for help felt like he was slacking, pushing off his duties on others. "I suppose we should see what the Council thinks," he murmured, almost to himself.
The kindness of Pearlwave's affirmations of support didn't have long to settle in. He was still in a dazed about being called the she-cat's best friend, much less accepting that his clan-mates would support him, when Gustfang decided to enter the conversation. The sleek brown council member had never been his biggest supporter. Nautilusstar felt his shoulders tense again, wary of what the guard had to say. A late night of standing guard at the entrance to camp, watching over the dunes carefully for any sign of disruption or danger, had meant Gustfang slept in a bit later than he usually preferred to. The solid brown tom stretched leisurely in the sand, his tail flicking lazily behind him. A good morning and afternoon of rest meant that he was up and ready to face the evening. He padded past the piles of flowers, headed for Sun Rock, since he could see the deputy and leader conversing. A small frown marred his face as he passed the reminder of the Flower Gathering - a completely useless tradition, in the tom's mighty opinion. He stopped before the large stone in the center of camp, just in time to hear the end of Pearlwave's 'cute' little speech. It took all his restraint to hide a snort of distaste.
"Have you spoken to the clan about the preliminaries for the Games yet, Nautilusstar? You've left it till the last minute you know, which is highly unusual behavior," Gustfang addressed the leader with a polite smile and his tone was deceptively kind. Subtle hints of scorn could be heard if you knew the tom well enough though. "Do you expect to just let everyone participate or will you actually choose ten competitors? A day is not enough time at all to train," he scolded, his apple green eyes narrowing on the white furred tom as he stared at him with a blank expression. The inept tom was too sardine-brained to even respond properly. Then again, Nautilusstar had the social skills of a rock.
Turning his attention to Pearlwave, he tilted his head slightly in askance. "Or maybe you've been tasked with the preparations of the Games...?" he didn't seem impressed either way to be completely honest. "Perhaps both of you plan to cancel the Games - one of the clans proudest traditions?" Gustfang didn't bother to lower his voice, making his stand clear to all others within ear-shot. If he could cause a stir within the clan, that would only benefit his ambitions in the long run. A sore paw was not pleasant but hobbling on it while trekking across the beach was honestly akin to torture. She could feel the grains of sand digging deeper into her wound with every step and cleaning it out would be a pain later. Still, Sunberry gritted her teeth around the palm fronds she carried and padded into camp gingerly. Dropping her bounty for the day near the nursery, where she'd be reinforcing the walls - likely tomorrow - the molly turned to face the camp. Her blue gaze landed on two of her fellow collectors, Beefeather and Ashspirit, and the molly decided to take a break and maybe share a meal. She was especially eager to catch up with her former apprentice, purring quietly as she limped over.
"Beefeather, Ashspirit, would you two care to share some prey with me?" she offered as she neared the two toms, peering up at them with a kind smile. Her face softened and the senior collector pushed her pain to the back of her mind, refusing to acknowledge it. "How have your days been? Are you boys excited about the Flower Gathering?" her tone turned playful, sitting down and curling her tail around her paws. Her gaze lingered on Beefeather, pride warming her heart. The tom had been her first apprentice and she'd been so nervous that she'd mess up his training somehow. All things considered though, the molly believed that the tom had turned out wonderfully. Perched on his namesake, Dunestripe watched through heavy-lidded eyes as his brother and patrol companion padded up and down the beach, securing the area. The warmth of the sun beat down on the tom and he stretched out beneath the golden rays, soaking the heat into his muscles with a long purr. The tom was keeping watch, an important task, according to him. It meant less scouting about and much more sun-bathing. Said sun was beginning to sink lower in the sky though, as evening drew nearer. Which meant that it was almost time for the Flower Gathering. That thought alone, got the lazy tom in motion.
Standing in one smooth, languid motion, the mainly brown and white tabby padded down the beach, heading directly for his litter-mate. "Thorny, it's nearing sun-down! Shouldn't we head back to camp?" the tom cheered, his tone convivial and bright. He quickened his pace to pad alongside Thornstrike, bumping his shoulder in a friendly manner - careful of his brother's clumsiness. "Aren't you and Squirrelmist going to the Flower Gathering?" Dunestripe persisted, a teasing note in his voice. "Just don't you go thinking about giving me anymore nieces - the two I got are handful enough!" he chuckled, flashing his most charming smile.
His thoughts flashed to the young apprentices and he resisted the urge to grimace and purr at once. He adored the little ginger fuzz-balls but the idea of having kits of his own gave him a cold feeling in his gut. Dunestripe had never had a father figure to look up to, seeing as he'd never met his father, and while he believed Thornstrike was a great dad, he didn't believe he could ever be a decent father.
Nectarbee with Ceruleantide clearwater beach @ Tealraven The golden molly peered up in abruptly at Ceruleantide's scolding, her own gaze dropping to catch the flash of silver scales beneath the water before the fish darted away. She took a few awkward steps to steady herself in the water, apology shimmering in her green gaze. "Sorry about that, I'll be still as a rock from now on! I promise... or I'll try," an almost sheepish smile touched her muzzle then. When droplets of cold water suddenly landed on her face Nectarbee squealed with a mixture of shock and delight, laughing brightly as she grinned up at the blue-gray furred tom.
Nectarbee hadn't expected the tom to actually respond to her rambling, most of her clan-mates ignored her wayward thoughts and odd ideas. The fisher had indulged her though and while it might not seem like much to the tom, the simple action meant a lot to the huntress. "Hm, you're right! Darkwater probably would have gills by now if that was the case, huh?" she asked, mentioning one of the older fishers. "That's okay though. I think it'd be sad if you developed gills, then you'd have to live underwater and I wouldn't get to teach you how to hunt!" she enthused brightly, flicking the side of his flank with her tail-tip.
When Ceruleantide tried to get her to focus on the task at hand, Nectarbee forced the most serious expression she could on her face, though it appeared a bit comical. "Yessir! Impart to me your wisdom, oh great and mighty fisher, Ceruleantide," she replied with a nod of her head and only a small smile. "I'm ready to learn from the master," the tabby affirmed, a playful glint in her green eyes, even as she stood beside the taller feline and peered down into the water intently.

BARRACUDAPAW in camp / with turtlepaw "M-my paw?" Barracudapaw felt her cheeks grow hot. She hadn't meant to be that obvious! A good guard should never let her pain be visible, lest an enemy perceive it as a weak point to attack. She scuffed her paw in the sand, rolling her eyes. "Oh, it's -- pfft. It's fine. I'm fine. Thanks." She didn't seem to notice the other apprentice shrinking away from her. She stepped forward again and crouched down so as to look her directly in the eye. She didn't care for maintaining direct eye contact - it made her fur prickle uncomfortably if she had to do it for long - but her mentor had told her it was respectful and a way of showing you were paying attention or whatever. "Practicing your crouch. I see," she said, gazing intensely at Turtlepaw. "Well, if that's so, you weren't doing a very good job at it."
Barracudapaw had never been very good at hunting, herself. She was too impatient and too likely to charge right ahead instead of waiting for the right moment to pounce. Still, it couldn't be that different from learning to be a guard; you still had to attack stuff sometimes, right? So yeah. The ginger-and-white molly stood up and nudged the rock aside. "Maybe you should try practicing with something that's, I don't know, living? 'Cause in my experience, prey isn't gonna just sit there and wait for you to pounce on it."
CERULEANTIDE clearwater beach / with nectarbee Ceruleantide chuckled at the mental image of his fellow fisher, Darkwater, with gills protruding from her neck. "I don't know," he mused. "It might be an improvement. Perhaps she wouldn't look so dour for a change." It was a facetious comment and he meant nothing by it; he respected the older molly's work ethic and determination.
He glanced down in surprise when Nectarbee flicked his flank with her tail. His eyes darkened for a fraction of a heartbeat. "Oh, I doubt anybody would miss me if I disappeared into the waves for good," he muttered, the humor fading from his voice. They probably wouldn't even notice I'm gone. Well, except for Nectarbee, I guess. "But I'd hate to disappoint you," he added briskly, a note of sarcasm creeping into his mew. "So, let's get on with it."
Ceruleantide tipped his head forward, focusing into the shallow water that lapped around their legs. The sea was calm today, shimmering in a color very similar to his eyes. Light refracted off the surface, casting a rippling blue-green sheen on Ceruleantide's and Nectarbee's undersides as the water reflected the late afternoon sun. He squinted. "One of the skills we fishers trained in was finding where the pattern breaks in nature. This close to the shore, fish often use their scales to blend into the sandbar." He gave his companion a sideways glance without moving his head. He could see Nectarbee peering intently into the water, a comically serious expression on her face. "Though it can be hard to spot them, it's easier to catch them than trying to scoop a swimming fish right out of the water." He scanned the sand beneath them, slowly lifting one paw. "But, you have... to be... quick." With a swift, decisive jab, he hooked a speckled, sand-colored fish out of the water. In the same movement, he smacked the wriggling fish three times against a nearby rock until it stopped moving.
He turned to Nectarbee. "Your turn." The fisher waded up onto the sand and began to dig a shallow hole to place his catch in to prevent seagulls swooping down and stealing it while their backs were turned.
SANDYNOSE vanishing pools / with darkwater "Sure thing! Apparently I can be a bit distracting? At least that's what some of our Clanmates have said. Not to me directly, of course, but, I heard them talking about me. So I try to take everyone's concentration seriously and not interrupt." Sandynose explained amiably, oblivious to the other feline's barely concealed irritation. She laughed at Darkwater's comment about falling into the water. She couldn't picture the silver tabby doing anything like that; she was way too dignified. "Well, we wouldn't want that, would we?" She grinned over at her companion as they made their way down the beach to the tidepools. She had to pick her way carefully over the rocks as they went; Rockbound Bay was, appropriately, littered with slippery stones tossed up by the waves, making it far too easy to twist a paw.
"I'll just stand guard over here and uh, watch for seals!" She called over the sound of the surf. Sandynose hopped up onto a rocky shelf jutting out over one of the tidepools, claws scrabbling to find purchase on the smooth rock. "Don't worry about me!" She shouted over her shoulder. "You just do your fishing thing! I know you'll do great and I promise not to sidetrack you so I'll just stop talking now!" She sat down and wrapped her tail tightly around her paws, trying to stay as still as possible. The onshore breeze whisking around the rocks that studded the Vanishing Pools pummeled her fur, threatening to knock her off balance.

~~Driftpaw / Seastar Grove / With Puffinpaw~~ A sudden shout of her name and a *poof* of fur bouncing towards her pulled her attention away from her hunt for trinkets. " Hey Puffinpaw!" she exclaimed, as her clanmate approached her. "I'm just hunting for some dried starfish to add to my nest. Not the wet ones obviously, but one that has uh... been in the sun for quite a bit. Wanna look with me?". She began trotting up to the tidal pool once again before realizing that Puffinpaw seemed slightly warm, so she slowed her pace. brambleflight

ใโโโโ-ยซยซ Irisdapple palm circle with Gullchaser [shadowstreak ] Her mind immediately goes to Chiabreeze and Nectarbee at the mention of cats who could talk their ears off. It makes the molly bite back a chuckle, knowing the two hunters meant well, but they really did not know how to end a conversation. Irisdapple can't help but recall the many situations of being locked in a conversation with either, or worse both, of them and having to rely on Gullchaser or her brother, Cranestep, to pull her out of the their word clutches. At his reassurance, her fur settles and can't help but wonder if she might be overthinking things. Gullchaser was her best friend, of course he wanted the best for her, and she wanted to best for him. So why did it hurt more than she'd like to admit at the mention of him talking to other cats tonight. Irisdapple had to mentally scold herself, she was being selfish.
"I can't wait to hear them, then. Maybe we'll both come back with pretty crazy stories." She laughs under her breath, leaning her head down to pick up her bundle of herbs as he gathers his. Irisdapple patiently waits for the brown tabby, giving a nod once he seemed ready before she trotted out of the circular grove of trees. By this point the long-furred molly was able to ignore some of the heat that stuck heavily to her pet, her mind now occupied with thoughts of the Flower Gathering, if it would go well and if either of them would actually commit to participating. Through her teeth, the collector began to speak again, trying her best to annunciate through the flowers and leaves. "How would you feel about taking a dip after this? I need to cool off." ยปยปโโโโ-ใโ
ใโโโโ-ยซยซ Pearlwave camp with Nautilusstar & Gustfang [little blu โฅ] Pearlwave had hoped that her affirmations and their conversation would help the leader relax, but she felt that it only made Nautilusstar even more stressed out. If she could just shake him to snap him out of his insecurities then she would, but she just has to keep reminding how he deserved being their leader. It was hard for Pearlwave to sit back and not cheer for her friend, and even harder to easily see his good qualities while Nautilusstar was blind to them. She starts to smile as he agrees to bring it up with council. Before Pearlwave can express her enthusiasm, a presence causes her fur to stand on end for a moment.
"Hello Gustfang." The name left a displeasing taste in her mouth as she addresses the slightly older tom. "You know it's quite rude to barge into a conversation without even so much of a greeting." Pearlwave knew that she shouldn't be so prickly with the brown-furred guard, he was a council member after all, but he was also had one Deep Dark of an attitude towards Nautilusstar. That just couldn't slide with Pearlwave, especially because she was deputy, but even more so because he was her best friend. Sure, Gustfang was a rather charming feline, she could admit that, but she could also see right through his facade. It took everything in Pearlwave to hold a smile and keep calm whenever he was around. The fact that he addressed her next wasn't helping. She just wanted to claw that smug look off of his face so badly. She also hated the way he scolded the both of them, like they were kits.
"Perfect timing, though, because we were just discussing the Games. No need to worry your pretty little whiskers off." The white molly smiles politely, but her tone is dripping with anything but honey. "The Games are still scheduled to run smoothly, if you would like to join the discussion all you have to do is ask. I know you're not known for being shy." Her tail flickers from side-to-side, trying to hide just how irritated this conversation was making her. "You seem like you've got some ideas you'd like to share, though. Well, out with them. We're all ears."

(Teal; I don't know why, but Darkwater and Ceruleantide mentally picturing the other doingย somethingย embarrassing brings me so much joy lol)
Darkwater - Vanishing Pools - w; Sandynose ( Tealraven) The fisher felt a subtle pang in her chest as the guard mentioned overhearing conversations about herself. For a moment, the silver tabby searched her own mind; had she ever been one of those cats? No, gossiping wasn't her style. Not that she was some moral champion, no, it was just that small talk of any kind was of no interest to her. However, she had heard other cats talking and while she hadn't added to their remarks, she certainly hadn't reprimanded them either. Scolding herself as they walked, Darkwater's brow furrowed in concentration and resolve. You're a senior cat in the clan. If you don't stick up for your clanmate what kind of example is that? Even if what they're saying holds some truth... The fisher had to stop herself from shooting the larger molly an apologetic glance. It was obvious by her tone that Sandynose wasn't throwing a pity party. The best thing Darkwater could do for Sandynose would be to stick up for her when she wasn't around. Her determination was interrupted with a grin and a glance from the guard. Darkwater offered no verbal reply, but cast a soft smile at her companion. Sandynose has a good heart. A busy tongue, but a good heart. When Sandynose left her side to take her perch on the rocky shelf, the senior tabby felt her pelt bristle with uneasiness. "Sandynose, be careful for StarClan's sake!" She snapped after the guard, probably more harshly than necessary. However, her tone wasn't one of anger, but resembled more a queen scolding her kit for venturing too close to something dangerous. Of course, Sandynose was probably more than capable - she was a guard after all - but the rougher surf and slippery looking rocks had Darkwater's stomach churning with worry. 'Don't worry about me.' Sandynose had called out, and Darkwater just snorted in response. Of course she was going to worry. It was true that Sandynose was the guard, but the silver tabby couldn't help but feel responsible for her too. Grumbling something about the wind and the sharp rocks and balance under her breath, Darkwater finally settled somewhere by the water's edge, dark blue eyes fixed on the pools below her. The tip of her tail flicked in both anticipation and anxiety.ย
Gullchaser - Palm Circle - w; Irisdapple ( ๐๐๐๐๐ข)ย Irisdapple seemed to be less stressed, but the tom couldn't help but feel as though there was something more on her mind. He shrugged the notion away as he stood, herbs being held delicately in his jaws. If there was something else the molly wanted to discuss with him, the larger collector was sure she would tell him when it was appropriate. Purring in agreement with her statement, the brown tabby let his own thoughts wander. Would they have stories to tell? What if they did both participate and hate it? That was worst case scenario, and even then it wasn't so bad. They would still have each other's companionship at the very least. In that case, maybe hating it wouldn't be worst case scenario? After a few moments of silent consideration, Gullchaser decided that the worst outcome of tonight would be only one of them hating it. One of them finding a suitable companion and enjoying themselves immensely, and the other with nothing. Would you give this a rest? You're worrying about the very thing you told Irisdapple not to worry about! Rolling his eyes at himself, Gullchaser decided to focus instead on the taste of herbs that now seemed to flood his mouth and nose.
When Irisdapple spoke again, Gullchaser almost laughed at how ridiculous she sounded trying to talk around her herbs. However, it didn't take him long to realize that he wasn't much better at it. "Sure, that sounds fine to me!" He agreed, giving her a warm look. The molly always got much hotter than he did - much quicker too. While he wasn't much for swimming, he did enjoy standing in the water and feeling the smaller, more gentle waves. Sometimes he would see the smaller fish swimming around him if he stood out there long enough and was sure if any fisher saw him he would be scolded for not even trying to catch one. He couldn't help it; the large tabby enjoyed watching them too much. "You'll have to do extra work grooming tonight then,"ย He warned her, his tone one of obvious jest, "You don't want to show up to the Flower Gathering all soggy."
