What if Firestar was right about seeing them as the three when they were born? How much would have changed? Would the actual three be born? Would Squilf and Leaf still have the telepathic power? What do you guys think would have happened

Guess everyone would be even more confused. They would probably not understand the prophecy was about a later threat, i.e the Dark Forest, they may think the three were meant to save the old forest from destruction. Ensues a lot of drama along the lines of "I'm not cut out for this!" because the three would feel guilty about not being able to stop the Twolegs. They can't be the group leaving in search of the sun drown place either, since they are all from the same clan. All in all, there was already a lot to deal with in TNP, and this would have cluttered the plot way too much.

i would have liked that way more. i wish so badly that whitewing was shown interacting with her cousins, but they just...never do? they're close kin and yet never have an on screen friendship at all...such a waste.
squirrelflight would already have experience with a big task relating to prophecies thanks to the journey (even tho she wasnt a chosen cat). and i think this would work if they just didnt let leafpool get pregnant from running with crowfeather.

I would have liked it because of the more Whitewing scenes.

If they were the actual three I could see Squirrelflight having Lion's power and Whitewing and Leafpool having Dovewing and Jayfeather's respectively. As for the whole plot, there's so much that could happen. (I love hypothetical situations so this might be a little long sorry)
-Given that Squirrelpaw and Leafpaw rarely interacted with Whitepaw much in the regular books, we get to dive into their relationship more, which is nice. Though they'd probably have a hard time realizing their powers. Jaypaw only managed to find out by pure luck of encountering Firestar's dream; if anything Spottedleaf could come to Leafpaw about their powers early, knowing what would happen to the forest. If that were to happen, they could come together and talk about the prophecy before the Journey for Midnight happens. If Leafpaw were to have Jayfeather's power, perhaps her and Squilf's telekinesis could possibly be a lot stronger, and Leafpaw might be able to see whole visions of Squirrelpaw's wherabouts like Jaypaw did with Lionpaw and Breezpaw at the Daylight Gathering. As for Whitepaw herself, if she were to have a closer bond with the sisters in this AU, she too could be aware of Squirrelpaw's wherabouts from Leafpaw, and they'd keep it a secret together.
-When it comes to the journey to find Midnight, if Squirrelpaw were to go, it's likely that all the cats journeying would be aware of her power and the prophecy by the time the journey finishes. She'd probably spend time figuring out her power and how to properly use it, and Midnight could give her some advice about it since we know that she's aware of the prophecy. Feathertail might have a chance at living if Squilf were to take on Sharpclaw to save Crowpaw, but that's a far stretch, considering how big cougars are. Whitepaw could listen out for Squirrelpaw one day while she's on her journey in an attempt to track her and find out about the forest being destroyed and warn the clan early, although they wouldn’t believe her until the warning from WC (I think WC warned them at the border in the original? Correct me if I'm wrong). It wouldn't do too much though, since the clans dismissed the threat until the destruction escalated. They would however admire Whitepaw much like Dovepaw during the beaver situation (a cute parallel). She could also get her warrior name much more early, since she is older than Leaf and Squirrel. Perhaps the last to be named a warrior in the forest, while Squirrelflight's the first at the lake.
-When Bramble and Squirrel return from the journey, things still go as planned; they leave the territory, and find their new home by the lake. Squirrelpaw could still feel guilt about not being able to stop Feathertail's sacrifice, and Whitewing could possibly have some trauma from Smokepaw's death, with her hearing and all. Leafpaw would probably distrust Hawkfrost more since she could probably detect way more of his bad vibes with her powers. She could also figure out about the fake omen from Motheing much earlier too. Once they settle into their new homes and discover the Moonpool, Brambleclaw and newly named Squirrelflight could actually have a healthier relationship. Given that Brambleclaw would know about her power, he could join the secret prophecy clique with her, Leafpool, and Whitewing. Ashfur, who still likes Squirrelflight in this AU, hates this and decides to take up Whitewing as a mate in attempt to make Squirrelflight jealous, with little to no results (ik Ashfur is terrible and Whitewing's kinda his niece but hear me out). Whitewing is concerned about Ashfur's strange behavior, but doesn't pester him too much about it. Leafpool could walk in Hawkfrost's dreams and figure out his bad intentions early, and inform them on it. They could all work towards taking him down early on, perhaps during the WC civil war. When Mistyfoot warns them about Hawkfrost and his meetings with Mudclaw, Whitewing could expand her senses to them and confirm it. This is when they reveal that they are the three to Firestar, as well as Hawkfrost's evildoings. During the end of the battle, Brambleclaw, Squirrelflight, and Whitewing expose and deem Hawkfrost a traitor, and Brambleclaw decides against bonding with him with all he knows. Hawkfrost gets exiled from RC due to being outed. This also means Brambleclaw doesn't train with him and Tigerstar either (still don't understand why they made him in the books, completely ooc).
-At the same time, Leafpool is being saved by Crowfeather from falling into the camp. Leafpool senses the strong emotions of grief and passion from Crowfeather, and has a sensory overload from them. It's because of this that she believes she genuinely loves Crowfeather, and begins to meet with him (I always thought that Crowfeather only wanted to be with Leafpool because he was able to save her, compared to how he couldn’t save Feathertail, and realizes she's her own cat when she chooses her clan over him). Squirrelflight and Whitewing find out eventually and confront her. Leafpool claims that they love each other but they can see how uncertain she really is and call her out. She then reveals how whenever she's with him, all she could think about was the overwhelming feelings of sadness and grief that came off of him from her powers, and how she feels that she's just Feathertail's replacement. Squirrelflight comforts her sister, knowing the deep pain and regret Crowfeather felt when he couldn't save her. Whitewing also tries to help by telling Leafpool about how she felt about Smokepaw's death. They both believe that Leafpool should let go of him to let him cope with his grief in a healthy way, but she gets angry, knowing this was her only chance at potentially knowing what love was like as a medicine cat. Whitewing felt sorrow and empathy, knowing how much Ashfur is into Squirrelflight, but wants to hope that he'll come around to her. Leafpool storms off soon after, believing that she could make it work with Crowfeather, despite her uncertainty. She also decides to talk to Crowfeather about it the next time they meet. When the time comes for it, Cinderpelt catches them before she could ask him. Cinderpelt and Leafpool argue, and she goes off, deciding to run away with Crowfeather out of impulse. As they settle down for the night, Leafpool finally asks Crowfeather if he just sees her as Feathertail, and talks about how she senses his emotions through her powers. Crowfeather admits that he sees Feathertail in her, and felt that he actually was able to save someone, something he couldn't do for her. He wanted an opportunity to have that happy future he couldn’t have with Feathertail with Leafpool. Leafpool, while upset by his response, comforts him, telling him that he needs to come to terms with Feathertail's death in his own way. She decides that she wants to return to her clan, not wanting to be a replacement of another cat, and Crowfeather reluctantly agrees.
-They both return to the clan territories without going too far from them, but end up encountering the badger attack. Crowfeather and Leafpool manage to help Cinderpelt in time with Squirrelflight's assisted power (ngl I always hc that StarClan killed off Cinderpelt and reincarnated her bc she'd probably expose Leafpool's pregnancy and lower the actual three's chances at living in TC as regular cats and they wanted to take her completely out of the picture). They both deliver Sorreltail's kits, and ultimately drive the badgers away with WC's help (Whitewing managed to hear the badgers before they arrived and was sent to get WC instead of Crowfeather). Crowfeather returns to WC after saying goodbye and apologizing to Leafpool. Cinderpelt and Firestar punishes Leafpool for breaking the code by giving her all the apprentice duties for 3 moons, as well as revoking her from gatherings and Moonpool meetings for the said time too. The punishment is light since she was only gone for a night, and decided to choose her clan over Crowfeather. Leafpool accepts without much complaints, grateful Cinderpelt was still alive.
-Brambleclaw, Squirrelflight, and Whitewing look out for Hawkfrost by the time Sunset comes around, under Firestar's personal orders. Stormfur and Brooke return to help as they did and end up eventually going back to RC since Hawkfrost can't get them exiled. Brambleclaw also becomes deputy, much to Ashfur's dislike. Whitewing notices this, but decides it was because he wanted to be deputy since be actually was mentoring an apprentice. Overtime, Whitewing notices how much Ashfur goes off on his own, and one day, decides to scope him out with her powers, even though she didn't want to. She ends up seeing Ashfur with Hawkfrost. She quickly shuts her senses off before she hears anything, wanting to believe that he's only confronting Hawkfrost for being on their territory. She notices Birchpaw returning to camp off Ashfur's orders and going to Firestar's den, and she's relieved when she sees that Firestar left to camp to attend to the threat, thinking Ashfur was doing the right thing. Later on, as she's sharing prey with Squirrelflight and Leafpool, Ashfur barges into camp, telling the three about Firestar in a trap and Brambleclaw and Hawkfrost being there. Immediately all three of them are sus of Ashfur's claim, knowing Brambleclaw has no involvement with Hawkfrost, but they rush over anyway since Firestar was in danger. They then discover that Hawkfrost was killed by Brambleclaw, and Firestar was safe. Brambleclaw explains that he heard a cat yowling and came over to find Firestar in the fox trap with Hawkfrost over him. Hawkfrost told him how he knew he'd arrive, and told him to take leadership for himself, a "gift" from him and Tigerstar. Brambleclaw immediately pulled out the trap and they fought, resulting in Hawkfrost's death. As they help bring Firestsr back to camp, Leafpool remarks how Ashfur made it seem like Brambleclaw was going to do something to Firestar. Whitewing then mentions that she saw Ashfur and Hawkfrost together at the lake, but thought he was just chasing him off, explaining how she saw Birchpaw run back. Squirrelflight then says with narrowed eyes that if Ashfur was there the whole time, surely he would've helped Firestar with Brambleclaw instead of running back to camp to get them. Brambleclaw then states that he never saw Ashfur when he arrived to the scene, and Firestar croaks the same. They slowly come to the realization that Ashfur set them up with Hawkfrost, and tried to make Brambleclaw look bad in the process. They return to camp, and Firestar & friends confide in Cinderpelt and Sandstorm about the situation. They all come to the conclusion that Ashfur needs to be exiled and decide to wait until Firestar was able to speak properly again. Whitewing is distraught and feels betrayed by him; why would he pull this stunt. She however decides to wait until his exile to release her anger.
-About half a moon goes by, and Firestar is ready to speak. He calls the clan together and calls Ashfur forward. He notifies him about Whitewing seeing him with Hawkfrost and asks if this is true. Ashfur at first denies it, but Whitewing slaps him in the face with her claws, and screeches at him to tell them the truth. Squirrelflight butts in, asking with a snarl why he didn't wait for Firestar to arrive, and why he didn't help Brambleclaw chase off Hawkfrost. Brambleclaw then growls, asking why he ran away from Firestar when he was trapped. Firestar silences them, and asks Ashfur if he has anything to say. Ashfur then reveals his true colors, shouting how Brambleclaw should've never been leader and Squirrelflight should've been his, and not Brambleclaw's. Whitewing is heartbroken by this, and Squirrelflight attacks Ashfur in a fury for hurting her father physically and cousin emotionally, but some cat breaks her away from him. Firestar replies that jealousy is no excuse to trying to murder his clan leader, and angrily exiles him. Whitewing is devastated by this for a good while, angry that she had let Ashfur take advantage of her like that. She ends up befriending Birchpaw, since they both shared the guilt and anguish of letting Ashfur use them for his own goals. Birchpaw's apprenticeship goes to Brambleclaw (Berrynose just gets another mentor) and by the time Birchfall becomes a warrior, they are close friends and eventually become mates down the line.
-Since the three haven't been conceived in this timeline, Leafpool eventually just returns to her duties under Cinderpelt's mentorship throughout the POT arc, and Cinderpelt ends up dying in the Great Battle. Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight have the family they wanted from the start, so all four of their kits live, since Squirrelflight is a lot younger by the time she has her first litter (probably during The Sight). Whitewing and Birchfall also have Dovekit and Ivykit around Sunrise like in the regular books. Ashfur ends up not coming back to TC, so both of the AU three's kits never have to face him as a threat. They win the Great Battle and Firestar still dies, leaving Bramblestar as the next leader.
To sum up my AU of this what-if, Leafpool and Crowfeather don't work out so the actual three never come to be born, Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw have a healthy communicative relationship, Whitewing get a bit of a character arc, and Ashfur and Hawkfrost get exposed early on. Stormfur and Brooke also remain as RC cats and have their kits there as well. It's not perfect, but this is how I see this what-if playing out. Sorry again if this got too long, I get carried away with this kinda stuff haha.

I'm pretty sure it was Cloudtail that Firestar predicted, not Whitewing.
I wouldn't bring this up except for the fact that Cloudtail is by far my favorite out of these four cats currently being discussed and I honestly wish he had more screentime post-TNP.

While Whitewing definitely deserved more screentime, I agree with Skypaw13 that Cloudtail did as well and would have also been a great addition to The Three as he was indeed the cat Firestar predicted could be of importance in the future during the already canon storyline.
